This sound would actually be good if it wasn't overused. They use this all the fucking time.

In defense of the waterphone: that actually is THE signature sound of Vanacore Music, aside from their vast library of orchestral samplers. It's how you know that David Vanacore and company are at it again. And I actually have grown to love it. So I wanna thank you for giving your best efforts to bring this without any dialogue or music hindering it so that we may use it for our own stuff.

It's called a bowed cymbal. You take a violin bow and scrape it across the edge of a cymbal, causing it to resonate in the sound that you hear.
