It's not the best reaction time that wins either although that is a huge contributing factor, the winner is the driver whom is closest to their dial time w/out 'breaking out', or in other words running under their dial time.

The problem with the older vette is it didn't come in a automatic and very few people can launch that car and get traction not to mention shift it fast enough to run with the auto in the hellcat. Someone with good driving skills can do it. Come on the hellcat is almost 1000lbs heavier with only fifty horse more. The vette has. better power to weight ratio. Look at any video where the roll on from 40 the vette wins

Well the zr1 has like 630 hp and only weighs about 3400 pounds give or take and has 322 back tires if I'm not mistaken even then. It will spin out till about 50 to 60 so he had to feather it out put slicks on it and it will run 10 s

3ash A neighbor several houses away has the Charger Hellcat. His previous cars were mini vans and taxi cabs. I have a bunch of late model muscle, he sees this and I guess he was going to show me. Until he got this car, I never spoke to him before, now he's doing burnouts in front of my house! I was pissed and wanted to be rid of this asshole. We went to a local strip to settle it I guess, I don't drag race, I go to road courses to use these cars as they were intended. But I caved, and went to the strip. I brought my '11 ZR1 that is bone stock, not my fastest car. With an auto trans and launch control, he had a huge advantage. I spanked him silly, ran an 11.30 at 128mph. We are at sea level, it was night time about 85f. He pulled away from the start, had a better 60' time than me. But I had him by a bit over a car length at the end. If it was a road course, he would have lost by 4 or 5 seconds. He stopped doing burnouts in front of my house at least.

In a drag race like this, the win goes to who crosses the finish line first. The Corvette did even though the Dodge's seconds were shorter. The Vette probably out of the hole just a little faster.

That's not necessarily true. The race was head to head with just milliseconds in difference for timing. This is not scientific proof just a race with 2 different humans behind the wheel. The vette driver clearly had some issues with warming up his tires which means amateur driver possibly even begginer. So switch drivers or get a certified pro and do the race. This race is an amateur race anyway. This video in no way means the hellcat is faster. Anyone looking at this from a logical, intelligent and non bias standpoint can see that. Personally I dont care about either cars.

It's in the April Car & Driver Magazine. The magazine says 750hp with a 7 speed manual or an 8 speed Auto not the 10. I've Already put a large deposit down on the c7 ZR1 and was told I will be getting one. When I was there they told me it was 748 hp so I guess it still remains to be fully confirmed. Exciting stuff though. I'll be getting the manual because it will be the last great manual before things switch to auto and electric.
