I was there in the first galactic war, and now that the enemies of super earth are again on the move; I will dust off my liberator and fight once more for Managed Democracy!
Thank you for your service in the first war sir. I'm a new recruit for the second war, but I've been proving myself in the Malevelon Creek Offensive. God speed diver, give em hell 🫡
@@Bizmarckusspeculation is, is that when the cyborgs were wiped out their factories kept producing stuff, and their factories kept tweaking them since there weren’t any new recruits so they eventually made the automatons in place of the people that were once there
Me to the person who said are we the bad guys: Care to correct yourself? *loads gun* Those are some bold words for someone in range of an assault rifle
8 years of gameplay, I was there when the rumbler didn't exist, when the Dum-Dum was a new thing, I played 3 years without any DLCs then decided to treat myself to a little something (all the DLCs) I met many players, less than 50 sticked around, then a group of players, the ones that learned the joy that is Melee dodging against cyborgs, We had so much fun, hell, we now dive in Helldivers 2 and I could not be happier to not see a rumbler there
Yah it’s amazing watching people ask for stuff that was in the first game, like swords for instance. Cant wait until years later we think back on how the Railgun was used so much they nerfed it, how a small uprising of Helldivers was quickly crushed, how we didn’t have mechs on Melavelon Creek
@@josephspalding6609 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ Yes, it came out in 2015 and has several dlcs, many different weapons, LOTS of strategems, a third race and a lot of enemy types. It also has an encyclopedia which gives some lore, and basic mechanics and enemy type information. A lot of the weapons currently weren’t there at launch and the dev team slowly added them with each dlc or update. And in the first game you could actually upgrade each strategem several times instead of doing it all in groups. If you’re fine with the top down approach I’d suggest it just to learn what the older players went through. I didn’t play Hd1 at launch but I discovered it long before hd2 was announced Hd1 can give us a look at what the devs might add in the future of hd2, more enemies, vehicles, mechs, a third race, more strategems
40k is ass and is an almaganation of other cool sci-fi’s somehow made into an over the top, turd. I read and watched enough to know how garbage the lore is. It’ll never beat halo, lord of the rings or Star Wars and Star Trek etc. hell divers 2 at least does a cool job and not every faction looks like they were designed by early 2000s blizzard. Hd2 does it the right way and makes it cool without stupid hyperbolic lore and bad character design
It's crazy that the devs were like "Huh, how about we turn this isometric shooter into a 3rd person shooter?" And it worked extremely well. I think the only other time this has happened was when they turned fallout from an isometric turn based RPG into a 3rd/First person RPG/FPS.
The OG Fallout fans hated F3. And disliked what Bethesda had done. Would be cool if Obsidian would still own Fallout, Fallout New Vegas is still my favorite Fallout game
It’s also funny that around the time Helldivers 2 came out, early access for Deep Rock Galactic’s Top Down autoshooter spin off came out. Meaning that the new Helldivers became like Deep Rock, and the new Deep Rock game became like the original Helldivers.
its only alive because of hd2. If hd2 didn't exist, nobody would be playing hd1. This is coming from someone that first started playing hd1 since it came out on ps plus @@ghosted4221
SUPER EARTH and her people are proud to further LIBERATE the resources of space with our corporate allies in DRG. Together for liberty, together for victory, miners!
Helldivers is probably a really good example of "Grimbright", where the universe is absolutely awful but everyone's still having an absolute blast of a good time. It's the Brave New World where most people are lobotomized and happy to Grimdark's 1984 dystopia where everyone's downtrodden and miserable.
It's on ps4 and PC, I believe. I played it on ps4/5 myself. Great top town shooter with the best co-op mechanics going (which they obviously used to make HD2 so great)@@supermodestmouse
@@gemnut2562 Dude the first game had Armored Personnel Carriers, Tanks, Mechs, and motorcycles. These things will 100% be coming to Helldivers 2. Since it's a live service game though they'll be drip feeding us the content as they ramp up the mission variety, difficulties, and new enemies.
I love how there's little bits of context sprinkled around the game that shiw how dystopian everything is, like there's a voice line that talks about how an officer would bribe kids to basically get them to spy on their parents and other adults. It's really cool, I love this game :)
The worst advert was this one: "Too old to work any more? Consider having a dip in our bio-repurposing vats!" It's not outright stated what Helldivers eat, but it's probably recycled people.
As a Helldivers I want to find a bile titan egg raise the bile titan as a big dog then just drop into a mission and instead of calling in a eagle or something I call in the puppy titan and watch it fight another bile titan if mine wins repeat until it doesn’t to save money ammo etc and once it loses then call in the laser and 1100 pound bomb
I was there. I remember getting my first solo helldive. I remember the creation of the rumbler. I remember when 3 new difficulties were added that made helldives trivial in comparison. I remember getting first place in one of the sword missions. I remember discovering the double freedom and never touching another weapon. I remember getting my third cape. I remember reaching level 50. I remember finding my signature gear setup. I remember competing with my dad on who could do the faster helldive with random equipment. I remember having four people in the apc. I remember it all.
@@averageeughenjoyer6429 The goblin shark has many recorded fossils, but is still alive today. There are many species still around today in our world, with fossilized remains of them discovered as well. Crocodiles and horseshoe crabs for example
I love games that jump in graphics like this Risk of rain is a great example of this with such beautiful graphics in both games but such different setups
Not much of a lore video really. The Termanids bodies break down into a unique substance that humanity is using to power their space ship warp drives. This led to them setting up worlds to farm the bugs for the substance and scientists experimented on them (The Stalkers were developed via these experiments). Something has happened tho and the bugs have broken free on the farm worlds and now have an unknown ability to spread to other planets. The Automatons we know very little about in HD2. We suspect they ARE or could be connected to the Socialist Cyborgs from the 1st game as they have a very similar logo on the banners in their bases. The Illuminate were peaceful, but Humanity declared war on them when they found out they had weapons that could destroy entire planets (Altho its implied this was an excuse for Super Earths elite to declare war so they could steal their technology)
One of the best things of Helldivers 2 was the attention Helldivers 1 got. It's a still an absolute banger after 7 years (started to play it 7 years ago), and you'll encounter less braindeads than in HL2💀
What’s crazy is, I was looking for a new game to play, I’m over cod and other main stream games, my buddy told me about HD2 and it’s like a breath of fresh air. Never heard of this game prior but I’m glad I found it
First Helldivers was literally one of the best couch coop games one could play with a friend and a spare gamepad on a PC. An insanely underrated game, the sheer hours of enternainment it provided just can't compete with anything else for me
POV: The new Recruits (people just starting to play HD2) meeting the veterans (people from the first galactic war after hundreds of years in cryo stasis)
I remember when the first helldivers came out it was a great game liked it alot. Never did i think theyd come this far in releasing a new game. This one is so great compared to new AAA games that are released today almost all the content is earned in game and its just straight up a blast.
I loved helldivers 1. I put an ungodly amount of hours on it growing up with my vita. So glad to see the sequel blowing up the way it did and giving the developer the recognition they deserve
If you don't mind spoilers With the termimids (bugs) they actually did attempt some form of peaceful communication with humanity, yet fear due to their alien biology and mind caused the federation to attack, and after it was discovered their corpses decompose into what is essentially oil, war efforts were turned into capturing them and putting them on farms. Ultimately succeeding in doing so. The cyborgs (and in the second game the automatons who are implied to be evolved cyborgs or their children) were human separatists that broke off from super earth, while at first a tenuous peace existed between the two, terrorist attacks caused by cyborg extremists (which may or may not have been staged by the federation itself to give them a justification for war) caused super earth to declare war on them, eventually their planet, cyberstan, was conquered and the cyborgs turned into slaves. The illuminate were the most peaceful out of all, as their society is more Enlightened, yet it was soon discovered they had a much more advanced technology and weapons of mass destruction, so the federation declared war on them out of fear of them using them (and so they could get their hands in their technology, thats where many of our technologies in Helldivers 2 come from like shields and faster than light travel), ultimately the illuminate would be forced out of the galaxy, but it is theorized that they will come back in the second game . Hope that helped you get a clearer picture xd
I have over 4000 hours in Escape From Tarkov. It was my main game for years. I started playing HD2 just a few days ago and I am HOOKED. Safe to say tarky is gonna be benched for a while.
it honestly makes sense humanity would be in a constant state of war. we need enemies, otherwise we may just decide to fight amongst ourselves. frying some bugs on our fringe planets is a small loss
Note for the devs: for even more immersion, live votes should be something that players actively playing can vote on, which alters the gameplay, different servers can be made based on votes and opposing votes, it would be a massive undertaking but I think getting to vote on things that affect game outcome, would be wild
One of the OGs from the first. This game was a classic. I'm so happy for these guys success. They've been secretly been making hits for ps4 for over a decade and they finally get a FUCKING win.
I will say this. It does show a certain level of actual might that Super Earth took on a galactic war on three fronts and won. The Illuminates were either wiped out or fled the galaxy. The cyborgs werd defeated and sealed in mines. The bugs were turned to farm animals and harvested for 710. Super Earth won and maintained 100 years of peace.
We were born to inherit the stars no matter what even if we become the villain it doesn't matter because humanity has always fought for it's own interest so dont let those silly morals get in the way you must fight for humanity.
