The jump to Helldivers 2 was insane. Not only because of how much closer to AAA it feels, but also because jumping to that third person premium shooter feel was risky af coming from this.
A veteran of the First War and served with all these comrades. Fun fact, the player named 'No Trident' would kick you out of his game if you carried a Trident gun.
Our great grandparents liberated earth and fought with blood and tear. Let’s keep it that way ladies and gentlemen and show these bots and bugs they didn’t die in vain 💪
i really like the liberator in HD2, I don't know what it is, it just feels nice, wish it looked like it does in the HD1 cutscenes, with those pretty bits of golden here and there, also wished they added the upgrade system from HD1, as I haven't played it myself, but hear that made the game so much better
@@ProjectTaker imo HD2's combat music is amazing but it gets a tad repetitive when you play the game a lot, it could use one or two additional combat themes for each enemy. I don't know how the variety was in HD1 that said.
@@Hakkar6993 HD1 has 3 combat ost per faction determined by difficulty level. They all have a consistent tune with a shuffle of about 3-4 chorus tracks. Far larger variety and honestly sounds better for prolonged fights which level 9+ tend to have
@@ProjectTaker That definitely does sound a lot more varied yeah, it's the one thing HD2 is lacking in the music department. After 200 hours of gameplay the combat OST is engraved in my head, especially the bug one 😭
The online community is still fairly active, I'd pick it up. It's a very different game but great on it's own way, and it has 4p local co-op which is a ton of fun
@@Tatuzka HD2 OST mission areas doesn't live up to the level of intensity and adrenaline pump of HD1. Sure HD2 Main Theme is on par with HD1 but the rest of the music score? Nah. HD1 makes you fight for Super-Earth and scream "for Democracy" while HD2 you're trying to survive
@@KyleDevyAgreed, 'AAA' just means "doesn't look like an indie game' or "looks good graphically" when you don't have to be a big bought game to have pretty visuals.
They should really bring back some of the music and sound effects from Helldivers 1. The music here goes hard, and that strafing run from the eagle sounds badass.
i like how helldivers 2 need the same teamwork as helldivers 1. i mostly play with randoms, but when i do actually get a good team on random and we bulldoze automatons on helldive difficulty it actually feels intense the same when i watch this, it fells good to know that you got a team that knows tactics and they memorize the stratagems their bringing without even having to see the guide on the top left. i also noticed that not all level 50 is a god. some are just good. but i remember some which are literally gods, ashy raven and marth chaingrab, you two are insane.
@@nope-qi8zx I've played about 100 hours, it's still a fine game but recently it's been crashing a lot. Also the first game is much easier to pick up and play a quick short round or two.
@@snoweh1 I'm also about 100 hours in, luckily no burnout yet. The continuous technical issues are definitely annoying, though. Game gets more unstable each patch...
This looks so damn fun. Did you guys know this game has couch coop? 4 Player Couch Coop! If you're a Helldiver fan with friends and roommates its so worth the picking this up today.
I miss this music. Maybe I’ll go back to playing HD1 for a bit later today. Both the first and second games have that satirical democracy vibe to it, but when the music for cyborg level 9+ starts blaring it suddenly feels like you’re doing the most important thing in the world, and the future of humanity is on your shoulders.
Yes, the Imolators are back in the new higher difficulties. So they basically show up in the easy and the New Hell difficulties, but not in the medium or hard ones.
I actually just started playing it and it's been lit. Lots of vets and other new players, in game comms and text chat. Plus the gameplay loop is just so satisfying haha unleash liberty>collect samples>unlock more freedom>democratize the enemy. It's great 😂
to be fair only about 7000 players were active playing this game. so out of the hundreds and thousands of players from helldivers 2 only a few thousand are actual veterans from the first galactic war in helldivers 1. I think that sounds awesome
That was about 13 enemies spawning out of thin air in a row... I despise this combat "system". So arbitrary and obviously just keeps throwing crap at you till somebody gets downed.
Not only that. As a Helldivers 1 player, friendly fire was even more crazy because of weapon fire not being affected by elevation (except when you prone). In HD2 you die more from flame damage or bombardment because of their stratagems being more powerful and less predictable. I think this has to do the difference of Top-Down and 3rd person shooter, but I think in terms of firendly fire, HD1 was worse.
Veteran of the first war. HD1 was a masterpiece! I loved the music and the team work needed when things really went sideways and your team got into it. Bring back the convoy escort missions and snowshoes for HD2!
@@fatrat600284why the need to turn this negative? I had no clue this game ever existed back then, and am now absolutely loving Helldivers 2. Trust me I wish I knew about this first one when it came out! Looks super fun
I played this game, but I never got good enough to play on higher difficulties. So I don't think I ever got to hear this music. It's amazing sounding, and really intense holy shit!
The atmosphere for HD1 is so good. The music, sound fx, intensity of gameplay. It's better than HD2 in those regards. I do prefer HD2 overall though just because of the switch in perspective.
One thing I wish they ported over to HD2 is the “pre-targeting” laser on some of those Automaton 1HK weapons. Like the tank cannons. Would make dealing with cannon turrets and tanks more fun, even if it makes it abit gamey.
just goes to show the people claiming hd2 is "supposed to be a hard game" don't know what they're even talking about this the average level 7 experience for hd2 now compared to 15 its like come on who tf do you think you're fooling i keep saying it was never that hard of a game before the only hard part was fighting the damn shared camera
@@RobadobaChannel OP as heck from what I know. Imagine the damage and fire rate of the breaker with the spread of the Spray and Pray and the infinite ammo and zero damage fall off of laser weapons.
Wow the music is incredible. Just barely learning about these games from a Helldivers 2 gameplay vid I saw. But I don't have the console for that so I backtracked to this. Any other similar games to this? And does anyone know anything about the soundtrack or what song this is? I want to find it on spotify
I swear that these difficulties are for masochists. I beat a lvl 13 bug planet and got the new strategem (which I am not hugely fond of, but it's decent). I am not actually sure how I managed it, but I did. On a separate note, what kind of loadouts do you recommend for 13-15 bug, cyborg, and illuminate planets?
i ran through that lvl 13 planet solo too. the strategem from it is not anything spectacular at the first level but once you get the fire rate upgrade you can rip appart anything without heavy armour.
BUGS - LAS - 13 „Trident“ or LAS - 16 „Sickle“ … i mean you can use some other by for me this is the best if you play solo. - I always use these stratagems when i play solo against Bugs: Supply, LIFT-850, TOX-13 „Avenger“ Mk2 and Static Field. Avenger is good against bugs because you can kill any enemy with it. For perks i choose “Stratagem priority” (or you can choose “All terrain boots” if you are on snow planet.) You will not make mistake if you choose “Cardio accelerator”, “MD-99 Autoinjector”. CYBORGS - I prefer PLAS-I “Scorcher” or AR-14D “Paragon”. - For stratagems i suggest “Supply”, “AT-47 Anti tank” (especially for End game), Static field, Missile Barrage Mk3” or “Railcannon Strike Mk3” and MSL-4X “Commando” Mk3. You can also use “LAS-98 Laser Cannon Mk3” again most enemies (you can’t kill only tank with it). - For perk i suggest “Cardio accelerator” or “All terrain boots” if you play on snow planet. THE ILLUMINATE - Weapons like AR 19 “Liberator”, AR 20L “Justice”, AR 22C “Patriot”, MG - 105 “Stalwart” - For stratagems i suggest “Supply”, “MG-94 Machine gun Mk3”, “MGX-42 Machine gun Mk3” and “LIFT-850 Jump pack”. - For perks i suggest “Stratagem priority” or “Cardio accelerator”. You will not make mistake if you choose “MD-99 Autoinjector”. That's my suggestion!
For high level illuminate, I’d recommend taking the bubble shield. Almost mandatory. The worst thing about them is almost every enemy can mind control you. Unless you memorize the mirror image of all the stratagems you’re screwed. Tridents good as a primary. I like taking the expendable machine gun. Also the obsidian mech is good because it’s high dps and they have no armored enemies. Strafing runs are good because of that. For bugs I like taking the rail gun because the brood commanders are tough as heck and can easily overwhelm you. Airstrikes for armored guys. I take expendable machine gun for the chaff. Cyborgs I take a justice for primary, I like the rumbler it deals well with anything but tanks which you have to hit the back to kill with a rumbler. Satchel charges aren’t bad they kill anything just run out of them fast. I like airstrikes for heavy enemies. Regardless of what you like it’s important that your team take different things to deal with any situation. Same is true for the second game you should look at what your teammates have and try to take stuff that covers the weak points to their loadouts.
I'm looking at this now after playing the second one and this reminds me of that MOBA Dead Island game that got cut. Idk why I never heard about this game until the second one came out.
@@majorhavoc5490 Here is how we dealt with too many Behemoths and Brood Commanders in a 13 Bug planet Retaliatory Strike: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0eYnMYrEI5U.html Was fun for us... but 14 Bug planet Retaliatory Strike is a different story so far... I think once you try the Retaliatory Strikes (13+) the regular missions even on 15 will seem much easier.
Haven’t played this in many years but it’s still one of my favorites. And, after all of these years I still hate the trident and how people practically ruined the game by always using it.
Wait, what was the trident again? From what I know LAS shotgun and the multi grenade launcher thing was the most OP weapons that I hated most players would use on everything.
@@gertfoley I haven’t played this game in many years so that’s good to hear. I mean honestly people should play a game however they find it fun but I feel like people who I enjoyed playing with who were really good would use all kinds of crappy weapons for fun and still win. I never understand when people play a game without a challenge. So weird to me…and boring.
@@galaga00 I only just briefly came back myself; I still see it on occasion but it's usually just on farming runs for research points. Otherwise I see more AP guns
You should try it then. Notrident is making the run look easy. He’s stunning the heavies and taking out most of the armored enemies. Killing tanks with the commando takes a lot of skill.
@GameFuMaster in HD1 the space between alive and dead are a lot smaller. You can get knocked down but half the time if you get hit by something you're just instakilled
@@lrdeldric You get instakilled by some stuff as well in HD2, like cannon turrets. But the game offers a lot more ways to die without the ability to fight back, like dying to impact, being ragdoll juggled until you die, or being unlucky with a few headshots.
@@GameFuMaster ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nscJKO0-YK8.htmlsi=P2wi5Xuex2cms6Ym I get it, there are a few mechanics in the second game that feel like cheap shots. But that’s a theme that’s been present since the first game. Over time you learn how to watch out for them and get better at avoiding them. I would bet you money that no vet of the first game is whining about the current changes of the second game. We expect challenges and expect to have to find ways to overcome them with whatever tools available at the time. Some may seem unfair at first but there’s plenty of options in tactics and gear to try.
Not being able to spin your camera makes these top-down 3rd person shooters unplayable to me. I understand no up/down since there's nothing to see "up", but no left/right is a dealbreaker. I'm so happy HD2 went regular 3rd person.
