I think i have a better qualety mode on my steam deck oled. Set every graphic setting to low including texture qualety, exept turn anti alesing on. Under display turn bloom and dof off, set upscale qualety to native and frame limit to 30, v-sync on. In the steam deck menue turn frame rate limit off as well as allow screen taring. i find that in most games you get better image qualety with lowest setting without upscaling if posible. for me i get a solide 30 fps in gameplay. dropps to low 20s in some cutscenes. to get more fps set the upscale option and frame limit to your preference. for a smoth feel max motion blur under graphics and under controller turn the joystic acelleration sliders to zero. Helldivers 2 allso support multi input so if you want gyro aiming set gyro to mouse and i use hold left triger to activate gyro when ADSing.

@@WrestlingfansareCLOWNS oh sorry! They worked well for me, and others report that they are decent. I didn't get to higher level difficulties in my testing though, and a lot report that it gets a little wonky there. I will do some additional testing and get back to you
making the game run in dx11 helps alot with the frame rate, I can get away with a mix of med/low settings on hard and float in the 30fps pretty well. at native resolution render scale set to ultra quality
This game is unplayable on the Steamdeck. Yes it´s okay on the lowest graphics settings with 60 fps for the first look ........ but when you play it like it should be played, with 4 people in a team on difficult level 7 or above with a lot of bug spawn you are dropping down to 15fps and endless lag of death. I tried several times to make it playable but it is not. I tried different tweak and different protons..... everything fails.
Actually another helpful piece of information is to set your wattage to 10 or 11 volts and u get better frames and lower temps ....dint asky why ungetter better frames but u do
So my game will be fine for about half an hour and then it'll start stuttering and sometimes just crash. The game is in my SSD so that's not the problem. I just want to play helldivers with my girlfriend and her friends 😢 but fkn steamdeck is cockblocking me
I don’t know why but when playing this game docked with a external controller Xbox one for example, it feels like I have really bad delay on the controller, but on other games it’s not an issue
Can anyone confirm if these settings will work on the OG steam deck or is it the newer OLED? I have OG and game looked really bad with low settings and still froze up on me multiple times.
How do you guys manage with the controls? I can't even open the Stratagem menu in the Tutorial and whenever I try to re-map a key binding, nothing works or sticks?
yeah, had the same issue. I needed to use the left touch panel or d-pad. I also just downloaded the community controller settings, the second one - not with double touch panel usage, I found it very strange to move with my touch panel. just give it a go, takes some time to get used to, but works very well. FOR DEMOCRACY!
Might be a bigger problem. Next thing I'd try is a factory reset on the Deck, but that's a pretty big step. Possibly start a chat with Steam and see if they know before that?
I’ve followed many settings guides and I cannot get passed 15-20fps on the ship let alone in game. I have an OLED so it seems strange. Do you do any undervolting or anything else with other settings for the device itself?
No it's pretty stock. The only thing I've done was installed my own SSD, but it's not rated quicker than the one that it came with initially. Are you running the game from the SD card? I suppose that could slow it down potentially.
Not to my knowledge. I've enabled it and seen a massive difference, so it's definitely engaged. It's gone from blurry to much better once enabled. I've heard you need to do it but I've seen it in action so, I'm not gonna say no, but it's working so...maybe?
Good to know. A lot of times, changing in game resolution can't be done unless you're in desktop mode, so I'm gonna have to look into this now. Thanks for the info! EDIT: I was wrong, in handheld mode resolution is easily changed, in docked mode it seems to be locked...will investigate further
The deck cant handle this game, even on the lowest settings playing with three players and the action being high gets you 25fps. sorry, this game is a no-go for the deck. maybe fsr will help if they ever implement it.
