It sometimes happens by mistake sure but the Quasar is only good for single targets and you have to wait for the recharge after taking that shot. Laser Cannon is a continuous shot that can keep dealing damage to anything running at you and can deal with shrieker nests very fast too
@@xikaryo6735 Against bugs I typically use a quasar / sickle combo (I know shotguns are probably better, but I still prefer the sickle) so the enemy that actually gives me the hardest time are stalkers. Freaking bullet sponges lol. I'd rather fight a bile titan and a half dozen chargers than see one of those mosquito-looking jerks.
Laser Cannon has always been amazing for me. No ammo required, just beams of death with very good range. I realized how great it still was after I accidentally picked it over the Quasar, and was actually surprised how well the mission went with it. It’s a very useful thing
Works about 75% of the time, there's another first person bug that is only fixed by death. Edit; Probably more than 75% of the time, but my luck has given me the camera bug that simply is not resolved no matter how much I open the strategem menu. Sometimes the camera goes far away from my character, too, and under the terrain.
Try and try again. Get the bug again. And again. Hahaha so when i get it, I tap the stratagem button and not hold it down. Just tap. It could be one of those 99.9% times kinda thing but once I figured it out experimenting or a ps5 vs PC thing but, I never found any other way to work, or this method has never failed me since. Oh I just read the ending, the opening stratagem method ONLY works for the first person shooter bug. That’s the only time I’ve seen it work. When you stuck under the terrain or somewhere super far from your character, you better off hitting Alt+F4 then any other buttons Hahhaha
The LC is definitely a gun with massive upsides and downsides. The great thing about it is the constant fire rate and pinpoint accuracy: Makes it great for taking out annoying agile targets and hitting weakpoints like the heads on Devastators and Hulks. The bad part is that you need to stand still out in the open to use it effectively, and it has absolutely no stopping power whatsoever: It will not stagger enemies, so even though you can laser a Hulk or Devastator in the eye super efficiently, you are essentially at the mercy of RNG that they don't hit you before they die (Which will flinch your aim, buying them a few extra moments of life, and give them an opportunity to keep doing it). Even basic Raiders can be infuriating to fight with it, since hitting them does not flinch them or stop them from shooting you. The DPS also isn't actually the best, which is palpable when fighting "Health tank" enemies like Berserkers.
bubble shield can be pretty effective for stand out and shoot weapon types like the LC or autocannon, just need to learn when to use the bubble shield gen bc if 50 bots are all shooting that shield gen its going to go down very fast, you gotta learn to use the terrain to your advantage when deploying a shield bubble to minimize how much fire it takes to make its effective up time worth using.
I run it with the Eruptor and stun grenades. Eruptor is just so good against drop ships, factories, devestators, striders, and groups and the Laser covers Hulks, factory striders, Gunships, and anything with a vent; can kill everything efficiently with just those 2 weapons.
Erupter is a good pairing with the LC; what the LC struggles with, the Erupter handles well, and vice versa. Use the LC like it's your primary weapon, with the redeemer backing it use when it overheats. And you seen in this what the LC can do. There is also a weak spot on the face of the Factory Strider the LC can burn through to kill rather quickly. Use the Erupter like it's your support weapon. It makes short work of Scout Striders and Heavy Devastators, and stagger Berserkers. It can also clear the miniguns off the Factory Strider very easily freeing your LC to do its work on it. Erupter can also still damage tanks well when you can't see the rear vents, because of the splash damage. And it also frees up your grenade spot to take stun grenades instead of HE, and stun grenades let the LC make short work of Hulks.
i have been running Laser Cannon and Eruptor on automatons lately and holy hell is it fun. One of my favourite parts of the Laser Cannon is how fast it downs Gunships. Aim at one of the thrusters and you can down it in what feels like 2 seconds from 200m away Eruptor is nice for sniping fabricators, 1 shotting Devastator legs and some horde clear but generally the weakness is a lot of enemies. I also run Stun Grenades for Hulks, stun and then Laser Cannon their eye for a super fast kill
I only started trying the laser as I couldn't seem to make other weapons work - I'm just bad - and it worked great so I started taking it on every mission, and just by happenstance I realised how good it is against everything. Turrets - check Gunships - check Hulk - if you get the legs/arms/eye then check Tanks - check Factory strider - check but be careful Scout strider - check It deals with everything... And no ammo limit
@@oliverworley5162 it also can take down the legs of a hulk? i used it for the first time today and fucking love it! i was taking down hulks left and right, but was always aiming for their eye tho
In b4 laser cannon will be “meta”. My go to since day 1. Ask me anything. Use the jump pack with it. Take high ground around objectives and pick guns that don’t need ammo. One man army. I usually run it with Scythe/Blitzer and dagger. Scythe is just the mini laser cannon with deadly hipfire precision. All bugs can be killed quickly by aiming for the head or limbs. For the Charger you focus his ass. Use stun grenade if necessary. Finish off with rocket pods. Bile titan blow his weakspots and finish with rocket pods.
There's a timer that prevents enemies from calling in successive reinforces. This timer gets lower as you increase the difficulty, and it sits at around 2 mins on helldive. I think the booster adds around 25-40% to timer, my main take away from this is booster is just to reduce the chances of falling into an endless reinforcement loop. Pretty useful in squads with higher enemy spawns but for solo, not so much.
95% of games I pick this booster. I don't know how percents work for this booster but for me it's enough to think that if current game had 10 breaches with booster would have been 9 breaches. 10% less breaches per game is very good in my books if it's more than 10% than it's no brainer to pick this booster always.
I mean, one way to think of it is it lets more stratagems be off cooldown every bug breach/bot drop. With the booster, and those numbers, assuming they're accurate. That could be a Sentry ready for every reinforcement wave.
btw for artillary shells, if you pickup and in the middle of the animation pull out your weapon, you will throw it as it maintains momentum from the pickup
Pulse between targets to help with heat. Crouch for more accurate fire at range. Best at medium range so you can see well enough to transition from head to head.
When you're doing the SEAF artillery objective if you swap to your nade by pressing 4 it makes it super easy to "toss" the shells but you gotta be careful where you're facing because u can throw it into unreachable spots or have it roll down a hill away from the objective. also you can move 2 SSSD's at a time by doing the shell juggling tech with them, takes forever to move them though.
i always shoot out the light when its that bright on the console, side note i love the orbital burst for the bots havent seen a walker while having them equiped
Damn i love who you're into that game! Nice play! Good to see that people in higher difficulties also die sometimes. Gives me hope to play there too one day! And thanks for showing how to handle the gunship factories haha
Love the laser cannon. The addition of stun grenades cleaned up one of its main weaknesses and its ability to murder gunships like nothing else makes it very comfy to have at least one on a team. If you bring it with the plasma punisher you have a a good weapon that staggers devastors and chainsaw guys when they’re close range, it it can kill striders from the front.
i strictly only used the laser cannon for a long time before the quasar came out and i switched to that. it’s good to see it hasn’t been de-classed and still holds its own. as for the localization confusion question, i’ve been using it since the cutting edge warbond came out and it definitely works; particularly on blitz/short missions the time you get between bug breaches is very noticeable. as for longer games, as long as you aren’t picking fights with everything it works too, also when extracting it is much more peaceful and i’ve gotten times where it was just two breaches per extract and that was it. i play on suicide mission so it at least definitely works in that difficulty.
Laser cannon guide: Commissars, all variants: just shoot them Striders: Legs or crotch, 2 seconds and they're down Standard Devastators: Shoot the head, 2 seconds and they're dead Heavy devastators: shoot the gun out of their hand and wait to kill them for last Rocket devastators: highest priority target, shoot the rockets off their back, less than a second can save your life. Kill them when it's safe to do so Gunships: shoot one of the engines and they die in 3 seconds Hulks: risky but quick, shoot the glowing red eyes. ~5 seconds if your aim is good. Easy to miss though. For an easy and consistent kill shoot the legs off. About 5-6 seconds per leg. Once both legs are off it dies immediately. They limp incredibly slowly with one leg missing. Great option for flamethrower hulks Annihilator tank: shoot the tracks then climb on top, shoot the heatsink shredder tank: shoot the tracks if you need, but 2 impacts kills it from any angle if you hit the gun area, no need to use any guns Factory striders: Most people say it's best to destroy the miniguns underneath the face first then shoot the face or underbelly for the kill. I find it's easier to just hide so only the leg is visible and shoot out the joint of the leg.
The problem is within those precious seconds you; -alert all enemies to your presence -hope to hell rocket devastors aren't around -can literally kill all that in less time and effort with the eruptor. Las cannon is trash by design, and as someone who legit plays solo on helldive it's never worth taking. Support weapons like that are supposed to clear out smaller mobs yet it doesn't even do that well.
A little bit of a tip when it comes to Hellbomb placement: The panel to arm the Hellbomb is always positioned in the same direction at where you were aiming at when you threw it. This helped avoid being trapped when arming the hellbomb close to research stations.
I've been experimenting with pairing the supply pack with different support stratagems like the laser cannon, hmg, material rifle, etc, to keep them well supplied. Probably not good for solo play, but in group play it's a fun change from the more typical options.
Personally I'm a huge fan of the laser cannon. Bugs or bots it works great for me. For bugs it shreds through spewers, brood commanders and can even deal with chargers (admittedly it requires a bit more finesse) even takes out shrieker nests fairly well, you just need to be inside/at its max range of 200m. Bots it can kill everything :)
Love the LC. I think it’s perfect vs bots with: 1. the scorcher (bc the scorcher makes quick work of the walkers and scorcher’s major limitation is its ammo) 2. stun nades (bc they make hulks trivial). 3. Shield pack (bc you need to stand still) 4. A teammate that intends to shoot down dropships
I’m not sure on exact test but locilized confusion work really well on the defense missions where you have to lunch the rockets you won’t get as many spawns and for other missions it does help to not get caught in extended fights
Nice to see you rolling with a laser against bots. It melts them. A friend and I run helldive duos against bots and we like to roll with a laser and arc thrower. The major weakness of the laser is the lack of stagger and slow TTK against smaller bots and walkers, while the arc thrower has amazing stagger and fast clearing of small to medium bots to complement the laser. It's a lot of fun and gives you a Flexi slot for a backpack which you wouldn't get with the autocannon. Give it a try divers!
@@danielbob2628 arc thrower can kill all enemy types except tanks, turret towers, factory striders and gunships. It's around 3 shots to kill a devastator, but since it arcs, you can usually kill multiple enemies per shot
Lazer Cannon with EAT is my go to combination. Ready for whenever an inevitable Bot Drop happens, calling EAT down immediately upon seeing the notification almost always guarantees you have them ready by the time the Drop Ship arrives to take them down. Then the Lazer Cannon is just generally good, I mostly bring it in case I run into the Gun Ships. But will still take out almost everything else.
stun grenade and grenade pistol is such a great utility set for any helldiver, impact grenades i believe are still better than the gp31 grenade pistol but you get 8 of them and the stun grenades i love it for popping hulks with a anti mat rifle or autocannon
For terminids, it adds something like 1min between the time the small units can call for bug breeches, it's quite significant. I'm not sure how it works for Automatons because it seems like the small units can always call for reinforcements when they are allowed to, maybe it reduces the number of ships that arrive by 1? Maybe it adds a short cooldown between activating dropship flares on the whole map?
A few things from the video: 1. You can shoot the annoying lights to take em out 2. You can switch to your weapon instantly when picking up SEAF artillery shells to launch em 3. Light armor doesn't help with stealth, it's the passive that does, which is also present on medium armor as well. Idk about heavy.
Really good wep its a nice alternative over the autocannon but overall i think autocannon is the better all rounder they come really close though! . My biggest problem outside of headshot on devastators are there any spots for fast kill with the laser cannon?
Sickle/Lazer cannon and rover is my go to for both factions. It kills everything on Terminid side as well (except Bile Titan but it nukes sack quickly) - especially with the Charger armor bug when he runs past u and you can kill him in like 2 seconds with laser cannon. Sickle and Laser cannon synergy brilliantly as you have 100% fire upkeep when u rotate heat sinks. Basically with even half assed positioning not a single bug can come near you.
@@alexanderbohm607 Nah. Sickle offers long range accuracy and unlimited ammo. Thats the whole point of the combo. You keep swapping weapons for constant fire rate rotating heatsinks. Never have to reload. I love the fire breaker but it's mid range at best, and then things can get a little messy, especially with the hunters and bile spewers. Sickle chreds close range and long range. Ie the hunters before that breakout into their little attack patterns. You can often blow them away in a group with the sickle at range.
@@zarfilg man i tried the lc again and it was hot garbage still. This video the guy holds the lc on a walkers leg for a couple secs and it dies, i hold it on the exact same spot for 10 seconds and the things still coming. With the amr to the same spot it's 1-2 shots.....i started lc'ing the leg joint at 100 or so yds and the thing just wouldn't stop coming....same with devestators. I don't know what to say. I've noticed this game has crazy dmg inconsistency...so maybe if i play tonight i get a "match grade" laser cannon? lol..
@@alexanderbohm607 It only works during the charge. WHen u see a charger, run at it as its charging you head on, then just slide to the left or right and quickly turn and fire at his back leg *while hes still moving" - you will see green goo shoot out - then as he begins turning just focus on front leg which is vulnerable. The trick here is that u have to do it fast - like as soon as he moves past u start firing. Otherwise it wont work.
Hit the Striders in the "groin" area... the connection between legs and the cockpit: That little "box". It is one armor class weaker than the other parts.
Yeah this thing is amazing at taking out HUGE numbers of devastators at range during extended fights. Infinite ammo really makes the difference with higher level devastator spam I used to think this thing needed a damage buff but now… nah it really doesn’t
If anyone wants a really good ballistic shield build, run the laser cannon, defender, stun grenades, and the grenade pistol. For tanks, use stratagems like the 500kg if you can’t hit the vent with the laser cannon. As long you’re taking cover to take out rocket devastators with the laser cannon, you’ll probably will not die unless you get surrounded by enemies at all angles. Downside is if you get sneaked up by a scorcher hulk, it’s less forgiving than a bubble shield.
takibo, localization only effects the cooldown time of when a particular group of enemies can set off another dropship/bug breach call in by 40%, so in essence its only effective if you can kill a bot or bug about to call in reinforcements
*EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER* Nope, reinforcements aren't a per group/patrol cooldown, they're on a global cooldown. Once that "BUG BREACH DETECTED" banner is on top of your screen, and it isn't ON YOU, you can pretty much go ham on any group of enemies you encounter, be it random points of interests, objectives, or the 9 million patrols that pop up on extract.
@@josh___something ive seen a bunch of different things its said so no doubt misinformation is everywhere since there is little context on the booster itself, ive always felt what you said is probably true eitherway F in the chat for all those lobbies that dont have hellpod space optimization when someone could take it lol
Is the fire damage actually doing anything against those bots with the incendiary breaker? I mean it's a breaker so its good but would the regular one be better or is the fire worth it?
The LAS-98 does some really good work against shriekers on the bug side, and the damage output is reasonable as well when you are dealing with bugs that have exposed weak spots. Not as good as it can be against the automotons, as those tend to have headshot options with relatively low health unlike the bugs. It is extremely dependant on you having good accuracy though since the overall DPS from it is kinda low if you aren't hitting weakspots
My go-to loadout is the Anti-Material Rifle, Jump pack and previously the Liberator Penetrator. Swapped the assault rifle out for the new Eruptor, going dual Sniper rifles, it works out pretty well. You can pick off pretty much everything quickly with good enough precision :)
I like AMR with Supply backpack, basically lets you use it the whole round, running it with the scorcher or eruptor works fine, stun grenades too. If there's a horde I can't deal with, stun grenade + eagle airstrike. The supply backpack also has the added benefit of extra grenades and stims.
laser cannon against bots is really nice for team play. you can swat them airships easily etc that can be a rougher ride if you focused by them with the quasar. i usually swap to laser cannon if we got enough of quasar already in a party.
LC's long range is great. The limited mobility while firing, and lack of stagger are significant downsides. Especially when facing a barrage of shots from heavy and rocket devos. Which is why I still prefer the AC, for which reload time is the main downside.
My personal opinion of Localization confusion, it's not worth giving up extra stam and stam regen. I Don't actually think the local Con booster works as intended in a lot of cases. Mainly it feels inconsistent, from my own experience. Other players may notice it working or like it more. I did also give up on the laser cannon after getting better stratagems, nice to see it's actually viable. Great content, thank you sir.
Protip when running heavy medic armor: Use your stims to make up for the low stamina. You get to stock up at POIs unlike other classes. I play it on solo helldive with vitality enhancement.
I love the Laser Cannon, the only problem i have with it i what's been showcased directly at the beginning: It's pretty bad against a horde of Berserkers. Haven't found a good solution besides the Autocannon against those yet, they are just too damn tanky.
The pre-nerf Slugger was amazing: it did good damage, but more importantly staggered them....could keep a whole group of Saws at bay with ease RIP slugger. That being said, the grenade pistol and Breaker are pretty darn good for berserkers.
The laser cannon is also amazing against all bugs except Bile Titans. I’ve been running it on lvl 7 and 8 missions and my best performance so far was a mission with 603 kills and 0 deaths.
Laser cannon can literally deal with everything but Bile titans, chargers are also a pain with it but can be managed. The key to striders with the laser cannon is to do one of two things. You can either; A) Aim for the knees and leg the bastards B) get slightly above them and hit the guy behind the shield Both tactics work but you're gonna be sitting there for a hot minute on the legs. Your best best would be either EMS orbitals or stun grenades. Barring that you could also take an explosive primary/secondary to gimp them. I honestly never engage them with LC when I've got literally anything else available in my toolkit.
Yeah more info would be nice for sure. Anything with that shade of green and white in the game thus far is the medic. 2 extra Stims and 2 extra seconds of healing. This one is the heavy variation, I believe.
Whenever there's too many quasars in the squad a lot of times I'll run the laser cannon just to throw people off because of how infrequently you see it
Localization Confusion Booster is roughly a 10% increase in drop/breach delay, so it's not super good but still okay to run. I'd say Stamina, Space Optimization and Vitality are insta-picks and the 4th slot should either be Localization Confusion or Muscle Enhancement (if you hate hunters and/or hills or are on a planet with difficult terrain). I'd never pick any of the Reinforcement ones cuz they basically do nothing and the new Extraction one also is pretty bad unless you want to juice a little bit more experience. UAV is decent for stealth tho.
It does delay the reinforcements for a bit but when the start coming the come hard god that sounded bad but usually you might get 1 tank and a hulk but instead you get 2 tanks and 2 hulks
On my experience Laser Cannon is not a competitor to AC in terms of fire power except for Hulks and Gunships (which it kills pretty easily, especially gunships) on its own because of inability to stunlock targets - like you can't just pop up in front of a group of chickens and devastators and bury them under stream of shells before they could shoot back. But - it allows you to take shield or take ammo box and never worry about ammo for Scorcher, or take Eruptor as a primary and have almost all AC capabilities with an option of shield again... So a solid gun actually.
With striders aim for the bottom part of their body not legs or the big front head👍🏽 idk how to describe it well! But other then that the gun is perfect for everything especially with the sickle
laser cannon is good against with gunship, i would recommend to have one at least in a team in level 9 because if you facing 2 gunship fabricator in one area, it will spawn 4 gunship in a row, your EAT and quatar cannon wont have the time to deal all 4 of it, stand aside there will be also possible dropship coming in when you spend too much time in that area.
ok i'll grant you in appears to work well against drop ships, but look how long it takes to take out just one saw boy or devestator.....basically all it does is soften them up a tad till you break out the primary. The scorcher, a primary weapon....kills bots up to the small walkers, way faster than the laser cannon. It needs a buff. Just passing it over a grunt should insta pop them, but it doesn't even do that. As the difficulty levels ramped up, i just found it to be woefully insuficient. Is there a ship module or something that gives this thing a boost?
It's actually pretty good vs Hulks. Shoot a leg for about 2 seconds break it to make them limp, then they suck. 2 leg breaks is an insta kill, or just shoot 1 leg then go for the eye. Rocket Devestator rocket pods get insta bombed by the LC, regular devastators aren't a threat to anything. Shield devestators are a problem though. I've always leaned on the sickle to headshot H Devs, and the sickle CAN break the gun quickly sometimes, so I imagine that the strat for HDevs is to LC the gun (not the gun shoulder) and it would neuter them quickly.
I think what makes the laser cannon at least feel so good is that it at least does okay against anything the game can throw at you. A sort of good at everything but master of none type of weapon
The laser cannon was one of my first unlocks...it sucked, it got shadow buffed in one of the recent patches/maga nerfs other things got used it once or twice sense then but cant personalyl make it work because other things kill things faster and more consistantly but its fun to go full laser build at times
It's not that its bad in terms of damage but that there's a lot of face time. as in staring at the enemy. Even the quasar is too much during the charge time. Luckily the shield backpack helps mitigate that.
That’s crazy i started doing all bugs then switch to robots for a few weeks i think the robots are stronger cause of the range.. bugs you can lead them around like a game of zombies hit a sharp corner and kill all of them as they come around bots you always need cover if your caught in the open your dead you cant dodge shots from bots but you can weave your way through a horde of bugs easily
I love the laser cannon - I have been trying to figure out how to make it work with teams. The biggest hurdle is being overwhelmed with Hulks and Scorcher Hulks. If you go with the Plasma Scorcher you can take out the striders in 3 shots so that takes care of them. I prefer to bring impact grenades like you are, but stun grenades work well for the hulks. I often use the laser cannon to take a leg off. One it hobbles them so the eye stays stables to shoot it, as well as slowing the Scorchers down. - I didnt see a single hulk through your entire mission?
Missions like to favor enemies. If the map decides "no hulks this time, just striders and tanks" then that happens. Just like against bugs you can have missions without Nursing or Bile Spewers, but just have a metric crap ton of hunters jumping around.
@@Schilani I understand, I watched a video explaining how the game determines this on die rolls. Hence having some Hard level missions that have been harder than some Hell Dive to be honest. We had an Impossible the other day with 2 hulks and 2 Heavy devastators...thats it. I will aspire for your accuracy...you seem to rarely ever miss. Even under pressure accuracy is there.
I have never seen a run so quiet. When I play difficulty level 6 with my friends, we are fighting the bots non stop, renforcements keep dropping on us and we struggle to get the mission done. How are you doing a helldive difficulty mission with so little bots ?
