Imagine releasing a new warbond with an ice theme and not a single weapon has ice or freezing propeties...🙃 There are ice plants that slow enemies down, and we can't have weapons based on that?
I do feel that if you're going to have a content drop around a specific theme at least a majority of the things in that content should have something nudging to that theme haha. Thanks for checking out the video!
i just want a sci-fi ak47. but yeah this warbond is a bit of a let down. honestly if they get over this nerf crusade and buff these up just a bit this warbond will be much better.
I also would like just a nice AK47, or a simple lever action shotgun. Both would definitely spice up the variety of weapons in the game and add new experiences to gameplay. Thanks for checking out the video!
Honestly another SPEAR like weapon would be freakin awesome with the caveat that it’ll unfortunately likely take an excessive amount of time to bug fix 😅
Kinda tired of hearing people complain. Nearly every YTer is complaining about "it's a garbage weapon, the colors suck, there's nothing interesting". But you're getting something for free every month. Everyone wants the weapon they like to be the OP weapon blah blah blah. I feel like AH is an experiment to show that the more the devs cater to the players, the more they complain. Go play D2 or CoD, where the devs don't give two shits about their players, yet they keep buying every season pass. Let's see everyone complaining come up with 36 different weapons, where they're all op and balanced perfectly. 🤷 Imo people should be more positive about it, instead of complaining every time the devs do something. It was a $40 game with free stuff every month. So relax, stop complaining, be an adult with positive feedback and suggestions, go have some fun and maybe, just maybe just be happy with things just being whatever. It's not the end of the world when a change comes🙄.
No, I don't want any new weapon to be OP, I want them to have a place in the game. The Tenderizer is literally a worse default AR-23. Stop covering for AH's ass. They are releasing weapons that are either bugged, mid, basically unfinished or not thought through. I love the game, its fun, but it's pretty obvious the 30 day turnaround time for a warbond might be too fast for them to give them the dev time they need, so we just have to deal with mid additions every patch and hope they get a meaningful buff or fix. Also: "So relax, stop complaining, be an adult with positive feedback and suggestions" Calling something underwhelming and giving the reasons is literally positive feedback and a suggestion as to what's wrong.
Aside from analyzing gameplay data (which is useful but flawed on its own), player feedback is literally the only way Arrowhead can gauge how to steer the game’s balance going forward. Folks “complain” because they care, not because they’re entitled. And did you watch the entire video? It wasn’t just some rant, there’s a fair bit of positivity.
@@ultimategrungo people don't need to complain to give feedback. And no, I didn't watch the whole video, because I'm sick of watching YT videos titled "the game is broke" or "the weapons are trash" or "the new WB is garbage/disappointing". Try a positive title and focus on constructive feedback. Sick of waaa they broke my favorite weapon/the devs don't know what they're doing/they ruined the game with nerfs.
@@ryanfreeman5083 you go work in developing a game and YOU go code 36 weapons perfectly balanced, with perfectly balanced game play. And then come back and talk.
@@Wallbouncing FR lol, really hope they add in- armor class trait customization down the line so at least you can optimize your armor with your desired traits mhm
I’d like an armor passive that lets you walk over ground hazards faster/without taking damage. a suit that lets you walk over burning ground and walk faster through shrubbery and puddles would be cool. Too many times I’ve felt annoyed waiting for the fire from a friendly’s fire grenade, Eagle volley, or flamethrower to dissipate before I can walk over to grab some samples or move up.
That would be a cool armor passive, and people were expecting the democratic denotation armor to have some form of fire-resistant armor the same way the cutting edge warbond had arc-resistant armor. It would be nice to have and I am more ready to have those in the game. Thanks for checking out the video!
I've made another comment and posted on the steam forums saying that the game would really benefit from an alternating monthly schedule. AH is incentivized to do a monthly warbond for money reasons. But it's quite clear to me that it isn't healthy for the game long term. Due to the small team size, the current schedule is wrecking havoc with their ability to not only design better warbond gear, but slows down their ability to take in and implement feedback, and do bug fixes. The alternating monthly schedule would 1 month spent designing warbond stuff. The next month spent doing bug fixes, taking in feedback, and implementing feedback.
Correcting you here on a thing, Arrowhead is not incentivized to sell warbonds, Arrowhead is demanded to sell warbonds. Sony is telling them you will sell one of these a month or we will take everything from you. Game studios should never work with corporations, ever. It is better to let your dreams die and your family starve than give your sweat and blood to a corporation.
@@thedankestdungeon8091 They ARE incentivized on doing warbonds, it's how they keep paying their employees and maintaining servers, they just aren't profit motivated. Would you be doing your job if you didn't get compensated for it in some way? Passion and dreams don't pay rent and put food in the belly. The fact they get to do a job they love is a bonus, but never forget IT IS STILL A JOB. The main difference between AH and Sony is that they are on the frontlines, so they care more about the health of the game than their overlords, who ONLY care about money. Killing their own game due to poor decisions is what will make them lose the job in the first place. Remember the CEO made the call not to enforce psn linking at first, Sony essentially reminded them of their contract with their announcement. If it wasn't for the fact they have a contract with a big publisher, they could most definitely get away with a less frequent schedule because they only have to pay their own employees rather than making enough money on top of that to pay Sony, who are profit motivated. Digital Extremes is another example of a developer who cares about their own game (Warframe), but guess what, they still need to make money off of their game to pay their employees. But because it's self-published, they don't have to go maintain a crazy schedule that hurts their game long term. Final Fantasy 14 is the only other game that I can think of where the devs care about their game and are able maintain a healthy schedule due to a large team (unlike AH) because they are an in-house dev team for Square Enix. With Naoki Yoshida's position, I think he gets a lot of leeway and while Square Enix can be hit or miss at times, compared to nearly every other big publisher, they seem to care about their reputation.
As a live service game, constant content drops is how people stay in the game, and one can argue that if they were to stop dropping content then players would ween off. However, like you're getting at, if the quality of warbonds continue to be like this it's going to end up being unhealthy for the game long term. I personally wouldn't mind if the developers announced they would pause the next warbond to improve the game and I also feel that the community would stand by them with this decision. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts.
I honestly do not understand the pistol. The description says "...and chambers the largest centrefire cartridge of any lunpistol of its kind." which leads me to believe it is supposed to be the Helldivers 2 equivalent of a Desert Eagle and yet it cannot penetrate medium armor? A 14mm cartridge and yet a hive guard can just laugh it off from the front? I was honestly expecting this thing to be a more rapid-fire Senator with a bit less damage to compensate for the higher mag capacity and faster reloading (especially before the speed loader was added) and yet it feels like a Peacemaker that ate it's veggies, not a proper handcannon like the description suggests.
Thanks for your comment. I was also expecting the Verdict to at least be medium penetrating. I was also expecting the same for the tenderizer. Having both weapons be light penetrating puts it in an awkward spot where it doesn't really fit nicely with the lineup of the existing weapons. Appreciate you checking out the video!
Agree with everything you said but the most disappointing thing for me is the tenderiser’s inexplicable pre-release rework coz I was really looking forwards to getting a hard hitting AR
You and me too. That and the pistol I was looking forward to, expecting both to be medium penetrating and hard hitting weapons. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@Wallbouncing you put out good content m8 keep it up! And yeah I’m really disappointed about the pistol too. I think everyone would much rather they gave it medium AP and reduced the mag size to 7 or 8 and if it were 7 I think buffing its dmg to 150 would be justifiable so its rounds really felt like .50cals
The tenderizer is unbelievably weak. To put it into perspective, the tenderizer, which should be a premium weapon, (since you have to purchase a war bond to obtain it) has 25% less damage than the peacemaker pistol.
we have an arc thrower. single shot ranged rifle. blitzer. lightning shotgun. now its time for an arc ar. continues arc dmg and has a cool down like sickle or reload like blitzer. gonna be team killer nr1 xD
I honestly have no clue why they tried to throw the tenderizer into a similar spot as the liberator. Imo it should be the hardest hitting ar(doing around 100 damage)however, have a very limited mag count and have around like maybe 6 or 7 20 round mags. Then you could have the Adjudicator serve as a middle ground between the liberator and the Tenderizer. Also remember the trailer description said that the tenderizer is supposed to be good against the squids so having a such a high damage for an AR would make a lot of sense considering it would have to break through shields.
Yeah… it would be nice if they focused on making more unique weapons and such instead of making similar weapons just have a fresh coat of paint on em… All things considered the biggest weakness of the game in terms of weaponry in my humble opinion is that there just there’s a lack of unique diversity throughout the more bullet based weapons 😕🤷🏻♂️ Their current “differences” are pitifully small.
I agree with this, and I do feel that new weapons in the game shouldn't look to overshadow stuff that's already there but look to fill up the gaps of gameplay experience that are missing. Having a copy of the liberator doesn't add much value to the game, and I feel the same way about the Verdict in respect to the peacemaker pistol. Thanks for checking out the video!
The adjudicator is still pretty trash though and needs more mags and higher damage for its mag size as it is. I think if they brought the damage of the tenderizer up to 80 and the adjudicator up to 100 with 10 mags then they’d both be in a really good spot and fun to use. Right now they both kinda suck and I don’t see a reason to use either over the liberator. And I also don’t see a reason to use any assault rifle over the sickle so there’s also that
I'm halfway expecting what happened there was that they just added the weapon's test file to the live version without checking it. Everything in this warbond seems like it was made a while ago and was never updated after the previous buff patches.
I think the pummeler has already become my new “main/default” weapon, at least on bug planets, has when I tried it, I took out two stalkers attacking me together while I was alone. Usually in similar situations at least one of them run away, which to me is worth the trade off of less damages compared to the defender. While it deals less damage it had enough bullets to hit one for less then a second, quickly do the same with the second one without having to reload (although I had to use the pistol to finish the first and I chased the second one while reloading the pummeler). Oh, and a small detail, if stunned while invisible, they remain invisible (but they still get stunned). Makes absolutely sense, but I never realised it before😅
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the warbond. Although I am clearly coming at it pretty hard, it does make me glad to see people find things that they enjoy and see how they feel about it so I appreciate you checking out the video and sharing your experience!
the pummeler is amazing if used right. you can fully stunlock chargers and kill them fairly quickly. You can run and gun with it and stun all sorts of enemies with it and the damage drop is barely perceptible when compared to the defender. S tier warbond if you like SMG's.
I've been using the pummeler more and have been getting some good results with the stagger and stunlocking potential it has. Thanks for checking out the video!
A heat sink SMG is a wonderful idea. I would be on top of that and I feel like a lot of people would gladly accept that variety among the SMGs. Also, I saw that White Wolf armor and scooped it up right away haha. Thanks for checking out the video!
If the Tenderizer had 70 damage, it could 2-shot Devastators effectively, because of its high accuracy and low recoil. That would make it an intermediate between the assault rifle and marksman rifles. On the shocks, it seems like it does work on environmental effects. I need to test it on the slow from exhaustion, but I think it works there as well. The Purifier needs something significant. Right now it does the same damage profile as the Scorcher, but requires a 1.3s charge up between shots that are one-clicks on the Scorcher. Personally, I think giving it armor Pen 4 and making it 100% struct damage will give it a pretty distinct anti-medium/heavy role that no other primary can fill, and open up options for other peculiar Stratrgems.
I am also sad about last Warbond. Even thou I don't follow general META, I have my own and this guns are just.. meeh. Also it is sad, that the Hype train is going short on coal, friends are walking away from the game slowly. Honestly in my opinion there should be done something with the bugs first and some other game issues - like difficulty 7 EVAC missions for Bots, that are broken and it is literally game of dying - not fun for me.
Well I think it’s important to remember that the bigger games often take multiple months, sometimes years to release extra content. For example, recent Battlefield games and Elden Ring. The latter releasing its huge DLC over two years after the launch of the game. It’s a different type of game yes. But my point is a solid amount of content drop every month with Helldivers 2 is okay with me
I disagree. Any variety and niches is good vaiety. Theres some people i heard from that did not like any of the ARs, but tried the tenderizer and loved it. More unuique options is tgood too, dont get me wrong, but eventually you can only do so much woth ahooting a gun to kill bad guys.
If only they make the tenderizer one trigger one bullet two shot it would be cool idea and true if only they make the armor mele boost to would be cool but despite if it is made like that we all know we will be disappointed cause it will be nerf.
A thing i see a lot of people say is that the armor has no passive for ice benefits, but i see them point out the theme of the warbond as an argument, when they could point out that the armor itself has the passive modelled into the shoes but doesnt actually exist
Great video! I agree on most points; I’d like to see the Tenderizer occupy a more unique space among other AR style weapons, and I’d also like to see more variety in armor passives. Something to move through foliage more easily would be amazing for jungle planets. One more thing: I would avoid saying “gypped,” if that’s what was said at 6:17. It’s derived from “gypsy,” which is a derogatory term for Roma people.
I appreciate your kind words and thanks for you mentioning the note about what I said. I will be better aware of what I say in the future and I appreciate you calling me out on this so I can improve the quality of my videos as I want the watching experience from all possible viewers to be enjoyable. Thanks for checking out the video!
It really blows my mind that they lack the creativity to come up with some new weapons, especially when they are asking people to pay ten dollars and buy them. Why are smgs both so slow firing? Most smgs have high fire rates, or at the very least they are comparable to automatic rifles. Assault rifles could use a 25% boost to damage and either magazine reserve or magazine size. It just doesn't make any sense to run out of ammo before you can even clear a single vent's worth of enemies. And the new weapon takes 1.5 magazines to kill unarmored bile spewers when firing at their rear, which is just silly.
I didn't go into it that much this video, but yeah some people spent a lot of time genuinely, (not doing that farming method) collecting a lot of super credits and grinding for medals and then they get this for all that effort. Also, yeah the concussive power of the SMG is great for being a "support" player with your team, but a lot of people also like to play this game solo and having it take so much to kill a unit makes it for hard for them to use the weapon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and checking out the video!
Someone pointed that out to me the other day in the comments and I was glad they did because I never knew that. I'm sorry for using it and I'm glad people are mentioning it to me so I'm more aware of these things and so that I can have my ideas expressed in the future without offending anybody. Thanks for checking out the video and leaving your comment!
They need to make all armor customizable with color schemes and make the colors locked behind medals. Hell, do it for unique helmet effects as well. Give us something to grind for and add an extra layer of customization.
With the armor passives needing variety, the helmets needing some sort of utility and passive for themselves and suggestions for armor customization, I feel that an armor overhaul update it's going to be a big for the game by itself. All I ask for is that they take their time with it and have it quality checked before releasing it to everyone. Thanks for checking out the video!
Played the first gun its a nothing burger, whats tenderising about it , hardly beats anything . Boring lazy trash. How can the game testers be so useless in releasing such an average gun .
I don't know if the tenderizer and such were always planned to be this way, but them releasing such a basic assault rifle seems like they're trying to play things safe but this was not the way to go. I also wonder who tested these weapons and gave them the green light. Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment!
Personally, I'd recommend to anyone who already doesn't own everything yet to this point to buy the other warbonds and spend your medals there and only come to this if you've got the surplus super credits and medals. Thanks for checking out the video!
The tenderizer is a worse version of the liberator. The purifier is a worse version of the scorcher. The pummeler is a better version of the liberator concussive, but it now makes the liberator obsolete. The impact incendiary is a better version of the standard incendiary, but again, it makes that grenade obsolete. The verdict is a better version of the peacemaker with a smaller magazine size. Once again, this gun is going to make the peacemaker obsolete. To summarize: two of the three primary weapons are worse versions of weapons already in the game. One of the primary weapons is a better version of a gun already in the game. And three of the items, the SMG, the handgun and the grenade all make existing items obsolete. (This is not good) The armor is nothing to get excited about. Considering the theme of this warbond is polar/winter, you would think the armor sets might have specific passives/abilities when used in snow levels. Nope. They have the same generic passives as other armors in the game. Overall, I would give this warbond a 3/10
@@Wallbouncing thanks for the response! I think your videos are great! I may have come across like a big old negative Nancy, but if they are going to only make these weapons available through either hours of grinding, or a paywall, they need to be better. There is no incentive for players to grind it out, or put up $10 for items that are not unique, exciting or better than what we already have access to.
Good points about the armor perks. The cutting edge was great with giving 95% resistance to electrical damage from the arc thrower, blitzer and tesla tower. But why can't the armor for the democratic explosive warbond have like 95% fire resistance so you can be like a walking flamethrower? Also this warbond could've had like armor with a perk like not slowed down in deep snow on snow planets or no sliding on ice? The team at arrowhead need to change up the perks for the armor and it would be great if the perks were themed based on the warbond.
I'm not sure exactly how arrowhead would solve the issue around variety amongst the armor passives, but even something that's different from the existing lineup I feel would be well received by the community. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts!
@@Wallbouncing I made the same suggestion on the discord and posted that question on x on the ceo's x profile. Hopefully we all get an answer on some at least new armor passives or maybe in the future get some armor passives based on future warbond themes.
I was so excited for the new smg and energy weapon. Until i tried them out. New smg blinds me at night while the energy weapon just doesnt feel as good as i hoped
Although the SMG and the energy weapon weren't exactly what I expected, I'm glad they have some interesting qualities to it that at least can make it fun to to run with every now and then (even if I'm going to die a lot trying so). Thanks for sharing your thoughts and appreciate you checking out the video!
I agree I would think both the BR and Deagle would be medium pen at least... but no... also I love the scout armor on the last page though your right I wish it wasn't just the 3rd pure scout armor in the game.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I just want to say that the weapons also don't look and don't sound awful, just that if the stats were tweaked in a way where it is now distinguishable with the rest of the current weapon lineup does it make it feel like it is unique and actually adds something of value to the game. Thought I wasn't personally interested in the scout armor, in that last page the blue cape is something I really do like! Thanks for your comment and thanks for checking out the video!
Big props to you for finding a silver lining to this. I do feel that if anyone joined the game recently they should look to finish the first warbond or use their super credits for something else. Thanks for leaving a comment and checking out the video!
I have to say your Plas-101 take is interesting. I couldn‘t enjoy its animations sounds or mechanics at all because it just is objectively so weak. it shoots way slower than the punisher plasma and the scorcher for what is maybe a tiny bit more damage. The damage output per second has to be the worst from all the primaries in the game, by a lot. If it at least packed a serious punch for that charge time it would be fine but like this I don‘t think I‘ll have fun at the usual difficulties I play at. If Arrowhead brings back the pre „buff“ (nerf) eruptor I can be happy again. That thing was fun.
I'm not going to sugarcoat it, yeah the weapon is not a competitive choice and is just weak in general. When it comes to new content drops in games, I like to approach it first by seeing if it adds something new to the experience because to me variety is the spice of life and that's fun for me. Even though I'm level 80 or so I still like to take the base liberator and pistol since it's provides an experience I haven't had in awhile and that keeps me interested in the game. The Plas-101 purifier sort of fits that role for me. Sometimes I like to use arc lightning, sometimes incendiary and sometimes play around with the plasma weapons. The plasma punisher is very unique and the Plas-101 also is as well. I don't use it often because yeah the damage is lacking, and I can see how a weak weapon, despite it's unique properties can still make people not find it enjoyable so I appreciate your comment and thanks for checking out the video!
I do think a lot of the armor passives need to be revisited, as the current list of armors are oversaturated with the same pool of passives. Appreciate you checking out the video and thanks for your comment!
All the armor choices look very good this warbond I will definitely give them that. The audio for the weapons are also very well worked on, but the way these weapons fit and perform in game makes it hard say that the state of quality the warbonds are in right now are going the right way. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and appreciate your kind words!
I honestly think releasing weapons weak and then buffing them might make people look at AHs balance team with more favor, I am betting in a week the AR-61 and Purifier will get a touch up.
Kinda just feels like they're wasting people's time releasing things in such a meager and underperforming state though. It's bewildering that these devs seems so wishy-washy about what it means for a weapon to be both effective and balanced, they just can't seem to get it right.
I believe you're right about future buffs and do expect the weapons to be adjusted by AH in the future, but shipping out weapons like this in their current state definitely shakes the confidence that people have in the developer's ability to balance weapons for the game. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for checking out the video!
That alone is unique to the existing lineup, is a weapon with depth and definitely something I wouldn't mind grinding warbonds for. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for checking out the video!
New war bonds aren’t supposed to be “ better “ weapons. They’re just new weapons. Once you remove that thinking that every war bond introduced “ better “ weapons, then you won’t be disappointed. It’s all for preference and never for a new “ meta “.
As to your point, I actually agree, which is why I like the purifier above the rest. To me, it's a really NEW weapon. It's firing plasma projectiles, which we already know about, but in a new way and that creates a different approach to playing the same formula of gameplay that Helldivers 2 is known for. Weapons like the tenderizer and verdict are new weapons but don't really bring anything new into the game. Even without the mention of damage, stats, or optimization, that's how I feel about those warbond weapons. Thanks for your comment and appreciate you checking out the video.
Also noticed for the incendiary grenade that when you throw it mid-close distance it’ll leave like a charred effect on your character model that does and doesn’t apply fire dmg to you depending on the distance you throw the grenade. Really nice that it doesn’t auto kill ya 🔥
Really hope that if they come out with a dark matter weapon it’ll be a decent balance between strong and not broken. Hard to tell though how that’ll land tho to be fair when you look back at the latest strongest primary released 😅
I agree. Beyond the tenderizer, the audio and visual team for this warbond did great. I do want to recognize their hard work and effort but it is hard with what the balance team did to all the weapons.
We all have to unite to demand Alexus's firing or this game will be dead by spring 2025. This man is a one-man fucking nuclear warhead and he is going to blow up Arrowhead studio in a blaze of disappointment and rage. We HAVE to DEMAND that Alexus is fired.
I saw his post on the discord days ago claiming that the warbond is going to be S tier with weapons. I don't really care about what's optimal and what's meta, but for him to claim this is S tier is either some inside joke that we wouldn't know about for days or he genuinely thinks the weapons are good but both just means he shouldn't be giving input to on the weapons. Thanks for checking out the video!
