The Magnify on Yuffie isn't that important. For Round 10 use Haste first then Stop the Tonberry. Haste Yuffie again then do the combo. You'll just need to keep an eye out on the Joker and dodge his red attacks if he targets you! Or you can remove Aerith's Magnify and give it to Yuffie! For anyone following the series, the old team just could not get pass Round 10 consistently and I did not feel right uploading that video. I had to go back and make a whole new strategy which has a 90% success rate!

Dude… I LOVE YOU! Subbed man… I’ve made it this far into the game with like 0 guides… all the way at Chapter 13 in hard mode and decided I’d pick up the brutal challenges. I’m 87/88 treasure trove at Johnnys. Round 5 in this was KILLING ME! Felt helpless and tried damn near everything. Finding you and holy shit. NIGHT AND DAY! Feels like I have a cheat code on. Very smart. I totally forgot about materia stacking on Fire and just tried to blunt force the first few tries but now that you've mentioned it, I realize what's missing! Thanks

I probably tried this challenge 20 times before finding this guide. This is excellent! Perfect strategy for this challenge.

Thank you for that great strat. I was using the Quakaga strat before this but I could not beat the final round no matter what. I just got owned every time I made it. Used your strat and still had to try challenge like 10 times because of those sand worms but when I finally got to the final round, I beat it first try. Thanks again for this bud.

Thanks for the guide! I got wiped the first time i got to round 10 because I didn't cast haste on yuffie. I decided to cast haste on her the 2nd time and it worked pretty well

So was trying the way you said in the comments regarding the missing third magnifying materia and I just couldn't get it to work without the aoe stop, so just my 2 cents here. As soon as I swapped the magnify to the aoe haste/Stop instead of the firaga on Tifa I cleared it. So if yall are struggling like I did for several hours. Swap the materia just so u can kill the last boss couse without it it's very scetchy. Great guide all in all though well done.

Thank you this was so helpful. I was using the Doppelgänger/Quake strategy before and would get destroyed by the Tonberry King. With this method I only struggled a bit with the Duneworm but the Toneberry went down easily. I used magic focus on Tifa since I didn’t have the third magnify yet and it worked out quite well.

Made some modifications for survivability when things go wrong. Mainly revive and sacrificing some magic power for more vitality. Eventually managed to get it done. thanks! I used magnify on yuffie for haste/stop and Tifa for firaga. Aerith doesnt really need it as her job is to set wards. By the time the engine is in motion, tifa is nuking and aerith can join in with single target firaga after.

Great guide, even with the magnify - time mistake. In my run the Tonberry and Joker took Yuffie down to 200 health which had me worried, but as soon as the combo popped off it was over. Thanks.

Another guide and another clear for me thank you! I will say though for this one round 3 gave me trouble because Ying kept awakening and not Yang first, so I could not follow the guide for that but finally the RNG was on my side and Yang awoke first and I was able to clear it all in one go. For people stuck with the worms what worked for me is to start tacking IMMEDIATELY with Aerith, that seemed to be the easiest and effective strat for me. One attack round from Aerith and then Tifa and I was able to safely Arcane Ward and do the rest normally. For Yuffie I used the chocoking cape and focused Haste on her alone and did not haste the others, honestly it didn't seem to hurt the others not to have haste even with slow on round 10. With Yuffies Brumal Form combo it's just enough. Hope that helps some one out there!

This one took me a long time but I found out the mistake while using youe guide.

For the 2 worms i recommend aerith ATB Boost on Yuffie, then Magnify STOP as this gives you more time to set up, Throw Yuffies weapon and build 1 bar, then Magnify Haste, then basic attack until you can brumal form, then use the usual rotation from here. That allowed me more consistently get past this battle. i found that i was getting Aerith and Tifa Swallowed quite frequently before i could finish the setup.

Another great video/build! Are you sure the haste is necessary here? Keeping in mind there's no 3rd Magnify if you haven't cleared this yet, so it's only going on Yuffie. For the last fight I decided to use my 2 ATB on Stopping both Joker and Toberry, since it has no aoe, then I didn't think I could afford to wait to cast haste on Yuffie so I just did the combo with the debuff. The atb still fills up crazy fast even with the debuff. Thanks for this, looking forward for the Seventh Seal!

I finally finished it yesterday with your help, thanks! Would you go with the same strategy for the next challenge seventh seal? I've tried it but it seems much tougher than hellion and I couldn't get past the 5th wave.

Thanks for the guide, it was a lil tricky getting down at first (was getting my a handed to me in the first few rounds) but once you do the fights are easy. Note some fights might have to go off script a bit but nothing to bad. Also for round 7 I find it helpful to stop the worms right off then haste and build up, I find it give Tifa enough time to get 2 atb to hold in reserve for when yuffie gets eaten

Howdy, ive tried a few different cheese methods ive seen online including yours and i think the most recent patch for fixing the ultimate party animal quest has done other things. I think basic enemy ai or behaviour has been tweaked. I dont have anything specific but they seem to spread out or change up and bull characters. In other set ups i was using quakga and could routinely get to round 10 but now can't. I could just be in my head but i dont think it is

Reached to round 7 until I ran out of mp on both tifa and aerith. Both my mp and hp absorption at level 2

I dont know if the update changed something, but while i have control of Yuffie, they charge and kill Aerith and Tifa. By the time they have two bars, they are in the red. This has happened 12 strait attempts.

it seems like a doable build imo, I'm going to try it out tonight, it's amazing how much flexibility this combat system is huh, I didn't know that having multiple fire materia linked to multiple blue materias increased the overall effectiveness of just one spell

Cheers dude!! Took me a lot of grinding for AP on the materias and then a few turns to complete, as Round 7 gave me issues, so I made sure to let the team run around before doing the combo with blizzard! Before this guide I was stuck on it for two days 😅 Does this combo work on everything in the game?

you are using 3 magnify in this build, but keep in mind that you get the 3rd one from this challenge. Considering tifa will be the one using the most spells, put one on her one on yuffie for the time materia i guess.

you forgot that you only obtain a 3rd magnify materia after you complete this hellion challenge. So you either have to remove the magnify effect from time or the fire materias of tifa or aerith. what would you recommend in this situation?

I only have 2 Magnify materia. There are only 3 in the game, right? I think the third one is obtained from winning completing this challenge. There's one Magnify in Chapter 1 when you're with Sephiroth, but I think you don't get to keep that one. >>Edit: Gah, I just saw the other comments on this. 😅

I keep getting screwed by the white mousse becoming immune to fire after the first firaga. I’m setting it all up the same with the atb ward on Tifa but firage doesn’t stagger it for me. All characters level 70 and entire set up the same other than the third magnify. What am I missing? Is it just a matter of not getting it quick enough or something?

Can you list out the materia in the description? I'm basically rapid fire trying builds when I have spare time if not it's okay but it would help

Finally a Strategy that works for me! Came at least as far as never. Just ran out on MP after some time^^ As some Materia aren't full level I am working on those now. Does this strategy works also for the rest of the brutal challenges? And thanks a lot!

I've managed every battle & VR challenge until now without a guide, just trial, error & materia re-arranging. After a few attempts I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. So I had to cave in, found this guide & passed it first try. Not as smooth as you, and someone died a couple times- but I still got through the rounds because the majority of the work was already done before they died. Thanks much! (Also, thanks to the other guy for suggesting to take Magnify off Aerith & give it to Yuffie). I do have a question though. Why put Steal on Yuffie? You said "Specific Situations", but I'm just wandering what those are? I don't recall you using it & I know I didn't.

Can someone help me. I’m trying to follow the guide. With yuffie building up atb all the time with brum form…what should she then be using the atb on when it’s full?

Dude these challenges are nuts. I have definitely improved with your guide, but honesty 'm still having so much trouble. I get unlucky with the worms a lot, and i die, or if i make it past them, i can never get the timing right for the final battle. Either my stop runs out too quickly or i have 0 atb and it takes too long to get it back for the double haste. What am i doing wrong??

I tried the build. My party died in 15 sec in battle #1 💀 Turns out speed is key.

Is there some instant death thing in round 3? I never see what kills me. Full health and 1 second later all are dead.

I keep trying this but it just seems too reliant on perfect timing to make it work. With no revive or heal they just get trashed.

Some busted ass enemies like King Zu, Savage Grandhorn, Sandworms, ruined all these battles, they can insta kill all your party! Fuck this game!

For some stupid reason I lose too much ATB when using Brumal Form in an ATB Ward. WHat's the reason for that? I have Haste on Yuffie and all and I still can't maintain ATB.

This is such bull****. Square owes us all so many hours of our lives back. This is my 3rd guide, and I still can't win. Closest I got was Aeriths quake spam strat, got to round 8. I tried that Cait stop strat but I couldn't even beat round 1 (can't beat round 1 with yours either, the AI kill aerith and tifa around the time it's time for Tifa to use Firaga) It's not your fault. Square just doesn't understand what challenge means.

These damn challenges always have like that one stage with some busted ass enemies. King Zu, Sandworms, Savage Grandhorn. They have binding and insta kill move. What a load of shit!

atb boost and some commands in this game have been rather defective at best, atb boot not working can ruin a round fast... they just keep flinching a block with no boost and I'm dead...

So, do you think the previous bouts setup of tifa/aerith magic is doable maybe? Where if instead of quaga, aerith has firaga and both tifa and aerith open with massive firagas? That was such a nice attack setup, this just seems like there's more to go wrong especially not being to good as using yuffie. Any other ways to simplify this Naz? Thanks
