It was heart-breaking when the girl in the second concern replied, "Of course not, look at my face" when asked about a boyfriend. What makes her think she isn't good enough? :( And it isn't all about looks, dear girl :(

I don't think so. People say stuff like that all the time especially in Korea. I hear it a lot whether it be a joke or for real. Anyways in this world it's only true that better looks gives you more attention. Although there are people who aren't very attractive that are popular, it's only because their personality is THAT good. There aren't many people like that. Of course she can find a boyfriend though. She's just facing the facts of life.

She did mention her mother calls her ugly and buys clothes for her brother rather than herself even when they go out specifically to buy clothes for her because according to her mom, nothing looked good on her. I'd say her mother's comments had a big effect on how she views herself.

Honestly, it's scary that the friend of the cute little girl's brother cares more about her (like he even came to a national show to support her) than her own brother. It was very nice of both of those boys to come and help her out. I really hope her mother changes for her daughter's sake, that young girl is too precious.

I think it's the contrary, she thinks too much about her haha, she sounds very controlling, I don't think it's that bad but she should definitely give her more freedom or it will teach the girl to be more assertive which is a good thing.

I kinda understand the daughter feeling when she said, "i will sweep the floor but you need to wash the towels".. She feels like she is the one working. We are fine by working together. But we feel like being used when the other is not working and we are working alone. And looking at the video when she is working and her mother is watching tv..

I feel like the mother of the girl in the second concern will not change. She will let her daughter be free for a little while and then probably go back to her normal ways. And the clear favouritism for her son really bothers me as I had it with my brother as well. Stay strong little girl! ^^

K I think what can help is that all her salon customers watch this episode and then just keep on telling her mother that it is wrong.I think for her mother it is important how people see her and if the customers keep nagging her at least her daughter might get to quit her job at the salon...Omg hope she really will get to do what she want..I feel so bad for her

The mum from the 2nd concern is really frustrating. She should give her child a chance to show her that she will study hard, I think she's already thought of her future for her and is just cutting of what they're suggesting bc of that. The daughter is my age and if she is always locked up working she'll become less social and she won't be able to make any decisions on her own bc of her being used to getting told what to do. (in my opinion)

not only that.. but she needs to let her daughter make decisions for herself.. even if she makes a mistake 1.at least she won't have regrets of not trying something 2.she will learn from her mistake this is how we slowly learn ourselves and figure out our skills and preferences.. she's not letting her daughter to not only live her life but also grow up.. she's literally doing the opposite of "raising" a child! what's even more scary is that with her attitude, even if she lets her daughter do what she wants, then if she doesn't succeed immediately her mother might be like "see? I told you so.. you're useless, you didn't even need to try.. just do what I say from now on" omg that would be terrible! (not saying that would happen.. just a possibility based on her character) I can't believe there can be such ignorant people.. I knew not everyone is perfect and we all make mistakes and not everyone is born a good parent blah blah.. but damn that lady is one of the best at being a bad parent! that's why I believe not just anyone can be a parent.. that's why there should at least be free parenting seminars provided by the state (compulsory for new parents) or something like that.. imo these matters are as important as economy etc.. after all kids are the future.. shouldn't we try to make the next generation better? anyway I got carried away again xD this case touches on an important subject to me!

that's really sad, I'm sorry you have to go through that :( please just know that even though your family may not treat you well, you are still a valuable important person and it's not your fault :) Consider writing a letter to your family to tell them how you feel without being interrupted, they may not be conscious of the fact that they are discriminating against you

I kinda felt like that too when I was a little. My mom would buy things for my brother since he's the only boy but I get hand-me-downs from my four older sisters. I do understand that, but for a young child seeing that feels so unfair. Now that I'm grown up, I work and spend money on myself. Don't be sorry for your complaints. People feel relieved after reading something they can relate to. =D

The mom in the second concern is being emotionally abusive, she thinks her concerns "win" when all concerns matter. She is pretty much treating her daughter like a slave and saying it's all okay because "I'm the mom"

2nd concern: What really made my blood boil was when the mom teared up not because she realized she hurt her daughter, but rather upset that her daughter didn't understand the mom's feelings... I hope the mom realizes she has a bright, mature, and beautiful daughter and will not take her daughter for granted.

Wow, it literally broke me when the girl in the second concern said that her dad and brother didn't came because it's her problem. She truly has no one in her family. I broke into tears. It is so obvious that the mother won't change her ways, she took the whole thing casually and was laughing until the very end. Never had a strong urge to punch someone.

I really REALLY want to show my mother this episode. Cause the girl in the 2nd concern, is just like me! I'm in 7th grade and my mom won't let me rest. I don't have the situation as bad as her but pretty close. I feel like Cinderella but not as pretty in my own home. There are 7 people, not including me, living in my house and I do all the work. I am the middle kid so I do all the laundry, dishes, and house cleaning. I study hard as much as I can and still get good grades. My brother and sister usually get B's and C's so when they get an A my mom and dad congratulate them with dinner or something nice. I am an A+ student and I got a B once because I didn't study for a test because I was so tired. My mom scolded me and took away my privileges. I am called fat and ugly, so I even starved myself before. I feel like crying most of the time but I manage to pull through. I have hope that things will change but I wish I could go out on this show......

I'm Commenting about them GOOD LOOKING CUSTOMERS THAT MOM HAD NEXT TO HER 😍oooooweeeee, I actually legit thought the same thing they did, "That's her son(s)" 😂😂😂 . But, I just want to say the daughter should be more confident with herself, she's extremely beautiful (: If she's pretty now, wait until she's older and out of puberty.. That concern where the girl has to work, I was literally crying because I was so mad at how the mom can be so selfish and not think about her child. And she was literally laughing at what her daughter was saying and she was like scoffing at her. Even the costumers could see that she was being treated unfairly. The way she was saying that her daughter won't understand and how what she's doing is for her daughter, was just AJSJJDDKAIEJRJKSK this just made me so mad. And I feel really bad for the girl cause she should be going out with her friends and playing, not working for 6 hours a day. THE THING THAT MADE ME MAD THE MOST WAS HOW THE MOM WAS VERY CLOSE MINDED AND THOUGHT WHAT SHE WAS DOING WAS RIGHT. AND ALSO HOW SHE DIDNT REALLY TAKE IT SERIOUSLY AND WAS LAUGHING LIKE WHAT HER DAUGHTER WAS SAYING WAS A JOKE. I really wonder if going on this show helped though. I know it must have helped at least a little, but did the mom really change and let her daughter be more free????

He just needs to see if he has some health issues that lead to his excessive sweating. Also pick up your scabs dude. That's just nasty as hell. I feel for that wife. im like roy i loooove throwing my notebooks and textbooks away at the end of the semester but i got owned once wen i had to retake my calculus and physics class and i regretted throwing my notebooks away cos i could have avoid rewriting the same notes. Since then i make sure to keep all my notes from sch in case i fail another class and have to retake. Lol

I start to watch for Roy Kim and I realize this show is really funny and good. Second mom was really frustrating, she really can't understand her daughter. And I think the most frustrating one was third one. That couple's telling get on my nerves. I really hate this tattoo "understanding" in Korea. I mean, they are fuzzyfication tattoos in TV and people are thinking that tattoos are crime sign. Also woman thought that other childs parent can exclude her daughter because of her age and his tattoos. But when they finally make it up I get happy 😂

The third concern is only a big deal when you consider the way tattoos and children born out of wedlock are viewed in korea. She was either pregnant or had already given birth before they got married and I think that's what she's really nervous about. They are already looked down on for being young parents, and she doesn't want him to be judged for his appearance on top of that. The problem should be with the men picking fights because they think the husband is a filthy criminal just for having tattoos, or with the mothers at daycare that may look down on them or their completely innocent child because of the circumstances around her birth. Now yes it seems like he's a little immature and whiny so he should definitely step up his game as a husband and father, but I think he really does love his family. His concern was his wife being embarrassed around the other moms, and hers is about him being judged and persecuted because of his tattoos. Of all the couples I've seen on this show I really think they care about each other and just want what's best for the other person.

That's favoritism for you. If you can afford to live independently, move out asap and live your life how you see fit. This is for your own well being and before you start resenting your mother and the favored brother. Just do what makes you comfortable and happy because you can never compete for affection/attention with your favored brother nor change your mother's mind about this.

I can relate to the second girl a little bit lol my parents made me clean since 1st grade (not just the house but I also cleaned my own room, did my own laundry, made my own food, etc) and eventually gave me a phone in 7th grade tho... they take it away if I don't clean and it makes me angry bc my younger sister got a phone in 4th grade (she's in 6th grade now) and she doesn't clean or anything and is clearly favored by my parents.... poor girl has it worse than me :( stay strong!!!

I just want to say when you keep your children from going out or dating or anything they will think about doing it in secret, they will get in trouble in secret, when she gets a mobile she will do so many bad stuffs with it in secret, so why not be friends with your kid and set a limit to things she can do? Like i mean its ok if the mom was worried about her child but she can set a limit to everything and be friends with her child, me my sisters and my mom are bestfriends bcoz she never forced us anything she advices us on things we want to do but she doesnt want us to do so thank you mom i love you

The third concern I just really didn't understand why it was a concern, maybe it's because I grew up in an environment that embraces tattoos and I'm an artist myself so I see tattoos as a beautiful form of art when done right, and even though it was blurred I could tell that his tattoos were beautiful. I get that his wife doesn't want to do all that work and well the husband could rely less on the wife but I just hate the ignorance that koreans portrayed regarding tattoos

Is like saying that you don't see beautiful things in different cultures because you think your country is the best or some shit like that.

You probably phrased it the wrong way. I don't have problems with tattoos personally but I can understand why it's a problem for her. 1. Too many tattoos can cause ink poisoning or skin cancer, which is definitely not good. 2. After getting all those tattoos, the wife has to serve the husband. The husband insists on having a social life but the wife stresses about their children more. 3. Being young parents is difficult enough so if the older parents find things about you to judge, their whole family will be judged and isolated since it's a known fact that Korean people can be very judgmental about such things. 4. His tattoos weren't appealing to me. I mean, what was that gap in the middle. He explained the significance of only a few tattoos and, from the way he explained it, it seemed like he was just following a trend.

It's not about the tattoos. You missed the point. It's about him not spending enough time and efforts on his family and instead just wants to dec himself out like a peacock because he's insecure at heart. He spend 15 grand on tattoos. Even most 24-year-olds with money and an ounce of responsibility wouldn't do it.

a mother like that is tougher than a metal. the way she argued and defended her beliefs and opinions had me thinking that whatever promises the artists would be doing for the girl will be gone to waste. i feel so sorry for the girl. i can't imagine myself being so down to earth like her - bcs if i were her, i'd find myself on the streets in no time lol but srsly. that's so frustrating for her part like damn; then her father and brother didn't even bother supporting her. now that she's facing puberty, there might be a big possibility of her unknowingly forming something in her mindset that could slowly destroy her - mental illness.
