Tbh I think they might be in an arranged marriage. They do that a lot in China. That's the ONLY logical explanation I can think of in this situation, that would support the reason of him not loving his wife and treating her as such. He's a really terrible case and it's also partly to do with the culture in China. They pointed out that he's a very patriarchal man and his wife agreed. His child is a girl and patriarchy always prefers boys. China has also been obsessed with boy children for centuries and this habit and expectation will be near impossible to break. I bet if it was a boy child he would have remembered the name

Probably why he came on the show was because of the promise of cash and he thought he could blow it on amusement parks. But I think they push to try to get over a certain number on things so that the person feels social pressure to change.
Yoonmi Kim i respect your opinion but I don't agree to that. The wife could've have had that money and take care of her child and get divorced. She won't need him anymore and it will also make her feel that so many people agree that this is a serious concern, so she'd probably take a better decision. Nah. A lot of the other men, at the end, admit they were wrong, or a little wrong, or say they will try to change or something. This is the only guy I've seen that doesn't know his kid's name, doesn't say he loves his wife (even if they usually don't mean it or show it they usually say it) and at the end doesn't even say he might change or he wants to change. The reason I keep watching this show is cos so often it shows people learning they were wrong and the catch up moments from sometimes very worrying concerns show how brilliantly people can change. BUT this genuinely seemed hopeless, even at the end. As far as I can remember, the concern with the most hopeless ending.

The mother is too worried about her son hiking, and it's understandable. She shouldn't stop him from something that keeps him alive. It would be nice if he uses shoes and safety equipments/kit aid for hiking.
I believe the third concern while is good to like something I think she should cut a bit since it's affecting her father's job and cost money traveling to the stadium every single time. I think maybe a game or two once a month should be enough and the rest via online after completing her homework.

I love the guy who hikes barefoot! He's super adventurous! I love hiking myself but my feet are way too sensitive to walk barefoot outside. I can't even get a foot massage. But being outside and enjoying nature while exercising is my favorite.

Honestly it really frustrates me when they have parents on who have concerns about their young child because a lot of them could be solved with just a little firm parenting. If your daughter goes to too many football games then don't take her. If she watches the game instead of sleeping, take away her screen or don't take her to late games on school nights. Simple. Idk if it's just because I've been playing soccer my whole life, but if I knew that little girl or if I was her mom I would support her and take her to however many games she wanted and looks for good soccer clubs that could make her a great soccer player because you rarely see such passion for a sport on kids and instead of trying to change them they should support her so she can be an amazing player and in a future have a chance to become professional I mean imagine how happy and successful she would be if she could get paid for doing something she loved

I agree too, he could alleviate some of the worry with some backup plans in case Plan A fails. like have a team with him with equipment and ready to provide support if needed. he could hike mountains shirtless and shoeless for all I care. the wise thing in the crazy is to have preventative measures in place. :)
