Brings back memories from way back in the 70s working in the estates office at Samuel Williams when the old Dagenham market in Chequers Lane went from an idea.... to open. Who would have believed it would still exist...although now a different site.
Why was this never a documentary on tv ??? It reminds me a bit of that bbc documentary 'Scrappers' about all the characters working in a Manchester car scrap yard. Im imagining Delboy n Rodders to be hiding round the corner with a suitcase full of loot haha
Just seen the 'Good Morning Dagenham' bbc prog in the tv guide for next Monday. Have they based it on your ace youtube video ? Iv loved this for the past 5 years !

I run a facebook page called 'stallholders of the world unite, together we are unstoppable' up here in Yorkshire and iv got all the traders watching this programme ! We're already picking out people who remind us of our friends ! I also left a comment 2 years ago, underneath, so iv had my eye on this vid for a while. I enquired about doing the market in 2016, as at the time, I was travelling down from Yorkshire and doing Brentwood Saturday Market. I didn't do it in the end as it was a bit risky at the time, to lay out the £72 rent, as my hair slides sell for £2 a pair. Iv since got other products to sell as well, so ill keep this in mind. I think a few of us are gonna come and visit your market, as punters, so watch out for the Yorkshire Lot visiting soon ! Best Wishes Julie
