We’ve had a large number of POC followers reach out to us and I feel it’s important to clarify some things. Although Lito had false memories of a life in Mexico and had his own struggles as a human being, he never knew the struggles of being a POC because we have a white body. It was never our intention to belittle the struggles of our brothers and sisters of color. After conversations with many lovely individuals, we understand that the majority of POC would prefer alters in white bodies not to claim to be a different race. They would prefer that the alters simply say they are darker skinned or have an affinity toward a particular culture. Lito has since integrated but I know without a doubt that he would have taken this message to heart and changed the way he described himself. We only ever want to offer love and support to those around us, but there will always be knew things for us to learn. Thank you to those who reached out to us and helped us grow to be more understanding. -Wyn

MysticEden well, agree to disagree I guess. I can’t help but feel bad for Lito tho. I’m not saying claiming you’re mexican when ur body is white is ok, but he couldn’t change who he was. He was always so kind and respectful. I’m glad no one in my system is a different race because of this problem, but I know it still hits other systems. Lito never meant anyone harm, and yet all anyone ever did was perceive his existence as racist. It just seems like placing blame where there is none. It isn’t his fault he remembers being Mexican.
I found this channel when it was very small and I remember when Lito was first in videos. He was so happy and confident. It makes me sad to see him be so subdued and hesitant about everything he is saying. I'm sorry the world has dimmed your sparkle Lito. You are a kind soul and who you are is valid.

Hi Lito! I'm a Mexican living in Mexico, and I want you to know that you are accepted in your culture. Trust me, we are inviting people, we always want to share food and traditions and you are welcome here. I don't know who tells you that you can't, but I can ensure you we won't. I hope one day you can come to Mexico! I recommend visiting Puerto Vallarta if you want the beach or Guanajuato and Puebla if you want to visit old town Mexico. You can't miss the ruins throughout Yucatan and Quintana Roo!! And although I live in Mexico I work in a space where we must speak in English, and you sound exactly like many of my coworkers haha. I hope you can make Mexican food like red rice or enchiladas :) I recommend listening to Hispanic music, I personally like Camila and Natalia Lafourcade, both are very romantic and very Mexican. ❤️❤️❤️
Aw.... but I love lito. Hearing him talk makes me smile. Recently I was having a bad day and I was watching one of the videos he was in and it made me smile to hear him talk when I really needed a smile. He's so sweet and genuine and considerate. I just want to give him a big hug and tell him that he's amazing. It doesn't matter that he is a fictive... he's a real person and is valid.

Our whole system had to learn to speak in the same monotone voice because we didn't want to stick out and make it harder for ourselves.... But recently we started realising that by taking our voices away we took a big part of ourselves for fitting in, which isn't really important to us anymore... I feel your pain but stay true to yourself as much as you can. Sending hugs
Thanks for talking about this, Lito! One of my best friends is an alter who's a different race from the vessel. He also feels very uncomfortable fronting, but I love it when he does because of his great sense of humor and gentle presence. I hope you can reach a point where you have many people in your life who love you for who you are and what you can contribute.
Oooooooooo I really like that term "vessel"! It so clearly identifies the body as simply the housing for all the alters, rather than as an accurate physical representation of the person inside like it's usually understood to be for neurotypical singular people... I am the long-term host so I hold the greatest amount of identification with our body (although even I tend to have dysmorphia as well, it's not nearly as bad as the others and for different reasons), but I sense that quite a few of my alters will be using that term going forward. I have a fictive in my system as well that was developed in adult hood that is based from a game I found very comforting and I worry about her all the time as at first she had an extremely hard time with all of this. Now she seems to have an easier time with it but I know it still bothers her. Much live to you and your system! - Gecko System
@@mochabunbuns I've had DID since we were about 4 we think. (It's the earliest body age that another alter remembers) once the brain has 'learner's to split off with alters it can happen from then on out anytime your under alot of stress. At the time we were dealing with a lot of stuff to fuel with the court system. And having a fear of cops we weren't handeling it well at all. The ficitive is, in the game, someone who is a forensic pathologist. So I guess it's just what our brain choose as the best candidate to handle that situation. it is strange, it seems it is very rare to see older media fictives. I guess the person grew out of them, if it was from childhood. or people didn't make good characters then? a child's mind will no longer need a grade school/preeschool character. but when a teen or young adult, they will need one for their age range, or something new and trendy. more people are going to need that, even if a villian, then continue to have an Elmo alter.
@@mochabunbuns we are emersed in media. growing up with it. so alters no longer need to be "randomly chosen from a hat" or loosely based off of types of people we encounter, but will latch onto something/someone invests a lot of thought and emotion on. I assume that is how it works

I can't say that I've experienced much in the way of invalidation due to fictivity but as a fellow fictive, I can understand in some way how you feel. I'm also a different race as well as skin tone to the body, which can cause a lot of discomfort and dysphoria. Not matter what people say, you are valid. No matter what race, identity, type of alter you are (I mean type as in "fictive", "non-fictive" etc), you are so valid and real. Lots of support from the Nightfall system, especially from our other Sense8 fictives who wanted to come up and say hi!
As a Mexican person who is also a system, I would like to extend a hand of welcoming to Lito. I am so sorry you have been made to feel uncomfortable and like you must tone down your true identity for other's wellbeing, especially when it comes from a place of just wanting to make others happy. I will admit, upon watching the first video with Lito I was originally a little wary once I heard his voice but the more he spoke the more I began to feel how genuine he was and how difficult this situation must be for him. I've faced a lot of discrimination in my life related to race, but never have I felt angered by someone taking a genuine interest in my culture. If anything, it's very exciting to meet a white person that has extensive knowledge of Mexican culture, heck even just the food. It makes me feel more welcome and comfortable to see others' love and part of our culture is to be accepting and loving of those around us, so much so that they are family to us. We are passionate people who love loudly and from I've seen of you Lito, you fit right in. I would encourage you to delve into your culture; try recipes and listen to music and genuinely love this part of yourself so much that it touches onlookers like me. I understand you can't claim your heritage as a part of a white body, but enjoy it nonetheless. Authentic enjoyment and love of a culture is much different than appropriation - it's celebration and we Mexicans love an excuse to celebrate. I hope you can feel more comfortable, even if it's just in your own space. People love seeing you around and we miss you but take your time and do what's best for yourself. ❤
Honestly, I think it's the Americans that are calling him racist, and his own disphoria telling him that's what they'll say. I lived in Mexico for a year and a half and culturally became Mexican. All of the Mexicans I talked to while there liked to claim me as a Mexican and I have a hard time referring to Tabasco as the place I lived not the place I'm from. I honestly don't think most Mexicans, if any, would be offended, just proud because it's a very loving culture.

I've heard about a few countries that get excited over people enjoying their culture. Japan's a big one. They love it when people come over and experience theirs. But it's usually Americans that get offended when they go to a festival and see someone in a kimono. I really don't get it. Americans are always like "Don't appropriate other cultures!" but then say "I'm gonna speak over the people who I'm trying to 'defend' "

Hi Lito :) Speaking about being a fictive is hard. So much stuff is different from the universe I come from. Like.. things out here are 3D and food isn't bar shaped and tasteless? I'm Catra from the cartoon She Ra and the princesses of power (the reboot) and it's sooo weird because the rest of the system still watches my source and makes headcanons, AUs and merch etc around it. Speaking about my source character is hard because even tho she's the most liked character, she also does a lot of bad things and I have those memories. Lito, even though you may not feel it, you are still valid and loved. We have a very diverse system as well. One of our littles is african, her backstory is that she grew up in Uganda and then way adopted by her family and brought to the US. it’s very hard for her as well. she sees things that remind her of her culture, and it makes her incredibly happy, but also incredibly sad because she knows she can’t participate. Even if she can’t in the outside world, we have created a place for her in the inner world where she can learn about and experience her culture, which helps her. I hope you can find something like that too. It’s always so nice to see you! Even if some don’t understand, you are still loved by all of your entropical fish! ☺️❤️🐠
Lito, I want to thank you for stepping outside of your literal comfort zone in coming to do this video. As a person who too loves good food, I say do what brings you joy and passion, it is a good way to express yourself, and if you are such a good chef in the headspace, for the rest of the body making nice food can bring them some of the comforts outside that they have inside too.

I'm a Mexican male, and our body is a white female. I'm Sean Diaz from the game "Life is Strange 2". I feel SO MANY of the same things you do. From being accused if being racists to being accused if being fake because I come from new media. I also struggle with my identity. I struggle with wanting to be myself while I'm out but not being able to because I'd get weird looks. I'm a fused part from our old host and the "original" Sean. They fused because our old host couldn't handle things anymore. So now...it's me. I'm still Sean but I have memories and feelings and such from our old host. But I also feel like me. Sean. Mexicans are generally super loving and inclusive. 1 way that you might be able to start feeling okay and accepted is by learning Spanish if you don't already know it. Speaking Spanish your accent will only be complimented, interest in the culture will be appreciated and acting like a Mexican won't even be noticed. I say this because I am not legally or genetically Mexican, but I lived in Mexico for 1.5 years and became culturally Mexican, and like to claim that I am Mexican. I have never been accused of being racist. I love Mexicans with all my heart and hope you can find a way to express yourself and not be shunned. It's a beautiful culture.

I can understand how Lito can be seen as comfort. Whenever I hear his accent I just feel my entire body relax because he's just so happy and it's rare to find someone so happy. Hi Lito! I saw a thumbnail for a video about you fusing so I don’t know if you’re still around as the same person. I can’t imagine the struggle of being a fictive (we don’t have any in our system) and everything else you go through, but I just wanted to say you seem like an amazingly bright and sweet human being! I’ve had discussions with my system about who we’d be in the show because it’s the only show I’ve found that accurately to some degree portrays did (and there’s 8 of us from what I can tell). I’m a graduate psych student who is focusing much of my studies on DID and PHEW - I can’t even fathom how tough it is to have to constantly deal with people who don’t believe in DID. I felt truly frustrated and disappointed when many of my cohort members told me they didn’t believe in DID. I find that believing people and actually studying something is far more productive and ethical then taking a stance that something “isn’t real” just because you don’t fully understand it. Sorry for the rant - I just am blown away by the bravery everyone in the system displays on a daily basis. Thank you so so much for continually making such important content.
in which part? the part where someone is going to have to pretend this version of Lito is real? or this is someone with a fragmented mind from trauma (does trauma cause brain damage?) who only thinks they are a tv character? it could be times like this that make people have it hard to believe. if I as a singlet had an injurey or "does amnesia from comas happen?" pulled a stunt of trans race- fictional character, are you going to say I am real? or want me to get back to myself? in which way do we need to believe DID is real? a serious condition? that this kind of alter is not literally that character, but a confused brain giving the mind what it thinks it needs? Lito brought so much joy and comfort to someone, he now gets to live with them! very unlike people who think they talk to a guardian angel, which we think of as a delusion. but because this time we can experience this, it's totally real, and not someone thinking they are someone else. seeing it as real, so we can excuse behaviors. if a singlet was "playing race/ethnic type" it's so terrible. god forbid someone want authentic Pho, or wear textile designes that belong to a minority. do "exotic belly dances" and wear a 1001 Arabian nights costume. but of course, if they had alters who belong to that. we see alters as their full self, not assuming who is "using the body" do we view DID as proof of the multiverse? do we see it as amazing but tragic? as you can be a person, but not need your own personal brain? that with DID, it's not a person who dosen't know who they are, and deals with stressors by fading into someone else. but like many people living in a big house, all borrowing a car. this is only ok because it "helps the whole team". i guess without alters, a person will be a screaming, terror and depression striken mess, constantly having flashbacks. so to survive, a brain fills it's mind space with whatever it can. dogs, elves, other races, genders, orientations....intellectual property. other literal people we need to view as legit and not "stop saying you are this person, for crying out loud, they have a family, you are not this celeberty from an alternitve timeline." because with DID, it's not an illusion. someone out there is for real, a race and gender bent version of Hitler, where she made it as an artist, and did the world great things with her art. and it's wonderful and true. not some silly OC.
because the idea real true DID might be rare. or that DID, and OSDDs are on a spectrum, and have so many comorbid conditions. or there can be a combonation of conditions that could be mistaken as DID. because one can dissasociate so strongly, only some alters are affected by other mental and physical conditions.
Lito, you came to be to help Wyn! Fictive or not, you are real! And I love your personality and your accent. I'm sorry you have to deal with the uneducated. Don't let them shut you down!

Lito, you're absolutely brilliant, nobody else can decide who you are and who you aren't, you know full well who you are and you deserve to be comfortable in yourself. Sure, when you're out the body you're in doesn't match your own, but that should not erase the person you are inside. Anyone watching this can hear your pain and I'm sure the majority of us are with you, keep doing what you love and keep being you. Hopefully when you feel able to we'll get to know you better, but ultimately if it's not right for you to be out often then it's not right, nobody can force that, just know that you're massively appreciated, and the fact that you manage to spread positivity despite this is astonishing.
We miss you Lito! Nothing about who you are is a problem or your fault. It’s such an ingenious coping mechanism it’s hard for people with simpler ones to grasp or understand even when the evidence is right in front of their face!

Lito, if it makes you feel better, I'm a Mexican-American man and I'm ungodly pale. I don't look Mexican nor do I sound Mexican but that doesn't stop me from participating in my culture. At least in private, you can embrace Mexican culture, especially if that makes you happy and comfortable, and Mexican Americans are generally really accepting of people wanting to learn more, especially if it comes from a good place. Appropriating a culture is VERY different from appreciating it. You deserve to have more joy in your life for all the joy you bring us :)

Anyone who doesn't love this guy has something wrong with them. These people are amazing and are extremely helpful in taking time - out of thier own lives - to educate those who don't know much about mental disorders. Lito, the only opinion(s) you need to worry about are YOURS and the systems. Our system does not have fictives, but we do have a variety, including a wonderful and warm older woman from Georgia- so we feel you on the accent issue... The body has never been to Georgia, so it's a mystery where she came from... but do the details really matter? YOU are there to benefit your system! You are JUST as valid as any alter and bring your own unique vibe and incredible warmth. So hey, hermano- don't sweat the small stuff. BE YOU!

i have two fictives in my system from series that brought me comfort at the time of their creation and its always so nice see other fictives be public about who they are and show support for other fictives. theyre just as real as any other alter and deserve to be able to be who they are!

Lito, you can't appropiate a culture. Cultures are not something tangible. You can perfectly share cultures and learn what you want about people around a culture. Feel free to be yourself
