I have zero justification for a helmet but I've watched this whole video twice cause Lucas can shoot fast and that's cool and papa mike thumb's voice makes me knees weak
Garand Thumb since one of the main reasons for both of you using helmets is night vision. How about that be a topic. Since i know nothing of this magic called night vision and how many shillings one will need. Also i posted up on your patreon community on some gloves you could test.
percussive maintenance pretty sure Lucas has been working with Daddy G long enough he knows about his cult following. Case in point Lucas is sporting an orange flannel. It's obvious he's peacocking trying to attract homoerotic Daddy G followers in hopes that his sexiness factor will have a chance to creep forward. Little too serious though if gonna be rocking the flannel ..... check that. Just saw the last 10 seconds .... he's a goofball too . Hey Lucas, is that a bump helmet in you're pocket or are you just happy to see me ......
You guys rock. You're inspiring young guns every day and are hella solid role models in the curremtly depressing society we're in right now. Thank you guys so much, just a dude from MS giving some love.
The Butcher Of Benghazi. Libya indicted me because I'm too stupid to delete my incriminating emails? I hear it's going to be sunny tomorrow, don't melt.
Ian Holmes I was trying to ask The Butcher Of Benghazi. Libya indicted me because I'm too stupid to delete my incriminating emails? if they were being serious or not...
@@hampstershat123 Bump and ballistic helmets aren't really better than one another. They each have specific purposes. For example if you are using vehicles without a cage (and sometimes even with one) a bump helmet will protect you in a crash a whole lot better than a ballistic helmet. Although that being said, I just modify a $15 bell bike helmet for my bump helmet. It isn't Gucci, but if I crush it I can replace it. (And I actually have gone through two so far because I'm a bit reckless)
@@tfwthelsdkicksin6083 nah, your rent and food are either free If in the barracks or you receive allowances if you live out of the barracks. So your whole paycheck is take home pay. A 2 year specialist makes a comfy 2,300ish pre-tax plus the food and rent. Also BAH and BAS are tax fee income. So you can pocket hella money if you're cheap. I grew up poor and enlisting instantly brought me up to the middle class.
lost a few 96 weekends because of someone losing their nods. Spent the whole time looking over the entire PB area for them to mysteriously appear in a spot that was deeply searched multiple times. They found it day 1 but didn't want us to have a weekend so they made us go back 8 hours a day every day. Fun times.
@@michaelhart8539 lol bro thats not being a fudd it's called being a responsible Adult . Lol like I could pay my car off with the price of of those nods and the helmet has to be I the $400-$500 range.
Thanks for doing this! I don't have a need to wear one but I always want to know more about the next level and you guys paved the way for that! Keep doing this kind of stuff please!
Thanks guys. I’ve been thinking about getting into night vision, and of course helmets, for some time. Your video really helped me on how I might set mine up and what I’ll need to do it. Thanks for sharing and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
I’d just like to say that, I’m 100% behind what you guys do, and everyone has the absolute right to buy whatever they want, and I firmly believe in civilians having every ounce of access to every outlet possible to be able to train themselves and learn the tactics and maneuvers that those of us that are in the military train in. Because the day could easily come without notice that we are invaded, and America will need every man and rifle she can muster. But when you are a civilian running a RU-vid channel offering advice on how to “Operate” with no real formal military training, there’s going to be a lot of people from the military community that are going to find you funny man, that’s just facts. Love the content you guys put out there and I have much appreciation for your attention to detail. Lots of well said things, and accurate information, You guys have done your research and put time in getting this stuff down, it certainly shows, for that, my hats off to you. Don’t let any shit any military guys say get to you. It’s all banter, and most of them are probably POG’s anyway...
I was blessed to have a friend find me a gently used blemless Elbit Gen 3 thin filmed green phos PVS-14 for $1950 shipped. Low Light Innovations makes a terrific "white" filter that essentially mimics white phos in appearance with limited light transmission loss for only $25. To save money on the mount, he suggested an "Evolution Gear L4G24 NVG Mount Perfect Replica" for only $85 shipped instead of the $465 for the real one, and the quality is phenomenal. I also picked up a used Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Arm for $150 shipped down from the original $229 price. Botach has a Longfri Level IIIA ballistic helmet for only $199 that is around 3 pounds, good quality for the price and there are lots of ballistic test videos on them. I also went with the FCS AMP Headset that is a fully functioning Replica of the Ops Core AMP for only $175 shipped down from $999 for the real one. I plan on running a Disco 32 PTT with them to get my Comms squared away. Although all of this stuff is still expensive, there are ways of making NVGs and Comms realistically affordable instead of an unobtainable pipe dream. I highly encourage yourself and others to do the same. I was able to have just as functional of a setup for a little more than $2,500 that would have been $7,500+ if I had gone "Gucci" on everything...............
helmets are useful for...boating, climbing/rappelling, protection while riding ATV's and off-road vehicles, skateboarding/bmx/snowboard/ski/enter your sport here, biking to work/wherever, scuba diving, skydiving, construction/ scaffolding safety, the headsets can be used for amateur radio use during all previously stated activities, cameras can be mounted to them, they can be any color at all. If you own a head there is a use for a helmet, not smushing your head.
Although I'm no operator, I'd like to think that if it's possible for someone to shoot me, I want my noggin protected. I want me some ballistic protection.
Lucas, I always wear a Bauer hockey helmet, I run a princeton tech on the back to blind people while they chase me, any idea where to find a nod mount for my Bauer?
@@Licmebro idk about that. I play paintball often, scenario games, and I see a lot of full gear players show up. I mean im talking decked out. They look pretty sweet honestly. I understand what you saying, but some of these cats look dope in full gear.
This is what I love honesty of why you carry the gear no I’m an operator or I do it for prep your honest you say you don’t need this it’s just cool and nice to have honesty for me goes a long way you just got a subscriber both of you;)
I have three things I want to say...1.I absolutely love when these guys do duo videos. They always come out with amazing content! 2. Lucas looks like he has been hitting the gym which is awesome for him. Keep up the good work!3. I pray that I am never on the shit end of a gunfight with these two guys. How fucking terrifying would that be?!
Yea, 7 Deltas are a monocle dual eye older setup, with the exception of the ( -II ) and the 14 Bravos are a single eye monocle lighter better gen setup. But 7 Deltas and 14 Bravos are Marine Corps Nomenclature, i think most people just call them by “PVS” But my unit didn’t get 14’s until right before I had to PCS. Haha, they didn’t even issue counter wights!
Unfortunately I live in the communist country of California and I think all my ballistics and NVG's make me an enemy of the state...can u guys explain to my wife that I need all this real world gear to be a more effective Airsoft player
Grip, stance, and cans make a significant difference. Not to mention lots of experience. Research the first two and put them into practice to test. Cans help recoil as well as sound deadening. Have to know how they work and why and why to run. Mike does a vid on basics of AR suppression.
Very cool, definitely want to hear more about NODS/IR setups. Covered helmet, mount, and strobes in this, but nothing about the night vision themselves.
Head Shot based on what? Have you actually used one or are you just going off what others complained about regarding it not being drop safe? I haven’t had a single malfunction with mine, including running some of that Winchester steel cased ammo, and after I got the trigger upgraded by the Sig “recall” the trigger is quite nice. Better trigger than any of my Glocks...
I dont run nv but run a bump sometimes because tall + unfamiliar area + high stress = hitting head on things all the time. I'd say thats a legit reason beyond armor or mounting nv... Ill admit I don't wear it all the time, but its nice to have and after getting some pretty bad gashes from low hanging crap in buildings, its a must have option IMO.
Thanks for the video, I like the videos together. I like the ops core but I think I’m going to go with the HHV ATE for the price and then get a TW strap set.
Someone else commented on this already, but it'd be cool to bring back the Garand and do drills with it between GT and Lucas. Obviously the future is now and all, but it'd be interesting to see how certain drills would be done within a set amount of limitations.
And here I was thinking I was clever and screwing the boom mic mount inside of my MITCH helmet. Shit is getting ridiculous, these helmets are looking more and more like we’re copying airsoft and not the other way around.
A game in which boys (or sometimes old guys) play army and shoot each other with plastic BBs. It's pretty gay yet pretty fun... not that I would know, I'm a barrel chested delta navy seal ranger sniper medic. I'm too cool for toy guns.
Are you an operator? “No” are you in the military or law enforcement? “No” well why are you so high speed? “Because fuck you this is America and i can that’s why.”
It's one thing to listen to an active duty person give his thoughts on the subject and another to listen to some civilian with no experience at all. I just can't take this kid seriously.
You guys are great! My experience is in long distance shooting. I like that you emphasize training in all of your video's. I'm from Michigan, where can I get both pistol and rifle training in the mid-west region? Thank you and keep up the great work.
