This is probably the best free thing I’ve ever gotten in my life, except for that one time the vending machine gave me an extra Take Five bar I didn’t pay for.
That transatlantic accent! 🤣 "I had gum in my mouth, so I wasn't safe to swim." "It's Ikea. I simply put the pieces together." How do you think of this stuff?
I cried out loud at that point. There's already so much to work with with those horrendously awkward pre-porn interviews and then bam!, the perfect punchline
I don’t even know where to start without totally fangirling out but goddammit Cole you beautiful brilliant hilarious treasure. The grounded absurdity and specificity of each character is so satisfying and hilarious to watch. Thank you for sharing your gifts with everyone. ❤️
Cole Escola is a genius. Every single thing Jessop said was quotable and perfect. He plays straight better than any gay I know, better than some straight guys play straight too. Laura Jean was heartbreaking and beautifully voiced. The canvas of Bette Davis is glorious. Every bit of this was strange and delicious.
The "Laura Jean" sketch has stuck with me more than any other from when I saw Cole's live show in Seattle a couple years ago. It's genuinely poignant, and yet it's also a perfect parody of the "southern romance" play. The sound design is the icing on the cake. "Poopy Sue" is an instant classic.
The "Laura Jean" skit struck such a weird nostalgic feeling within me as well, and I'm really wondering why. There's something about that scene that seems so "heartfelt" which doesn't make sense since I'm not from the South and honestly, I can't think of one specific movie except maybe like "A Walk To Remember" that it resembles. Yet, you put a young man and a young woman talking in soft southern accents while the midnight bullfrogs croak and suddenly I'm so profoundly moved, it almost seems stupid but so beautiful.
This is a work of genius. It is so good I am breaking my 10 year policy of never commenting on RU-vid videos. Bravo Cole Escola, and thanks to Zoe Coombs-Marr for mentioning you in The Guardian (in Australia)
I may not have asked for this DIRECTLY, but I know I'd been thinking "I really wanna see a whole show of just Cole doing characters..." and you delivered. We thank you!
Cole, I just discovered you and I think you are such an original. Your characters have so many layers. I hope to see more of you. Thanks for making me laugh and for beaming your positive vibes out to the world.
Right!?! The body language was so spot on. He could've done that whole bit with just his incredibly expressive hand in the shot and still sold the character! That was my favorite 🤓💗
It's amazing the way Cole inhabits a character. We haven't seen anyone like this since the best of the SCTV group so many years ago. It's really amazing.
There’s too much goodness to quote. Oh heck, I’ll do just one. “Mayonnaise...we have some and we’re going to show it to you.” Cole I want you to have to all the recognition and opportunities you deserve. Your comedy is so intelligent. And, the Laura Jean and Sam piece was really beautiful.
Well, I've officially fallen in love with you now. I also have the home decor of an old decrepit woman who's middle aged son takes care of her. I haven't laughed this hard and this real in a long while. Thank you for being you! Oh and thank you for the Jennifer Convertibles sketch. Ive been trying to find the old one for years and started to think I imagined it!
Cole. When I tell you, I’m CRYINg from laughing this hard. You are brilliant, and I’m such a fan. The references you come up with. The nuances. So freaking stellar. You deserve your own comedy special. Absolutely brilliant.
Loved every second. I couldn't look away; it's like watching the funniest car accident you've ever seen. But it's clearly no accident and obviously took an enormous group of gifted actors, writers, producers, and prop and wig stylists. I've watched it sixty times and I still couldn't tell you who my favorite actor is, they're all so gripping. And disturbing. If I knew how to create a meme of this I would.
You are an entertainment genius!! I haven't laughed so hard consistently for an hour in my life! Keep going, your talent will take you wherever you want to go
I've been watching this once a week since it released and can I say, the "mom barging in on a slumber party" has a wild amount of Ann-Reinking-in-the-80s energy.
Why am I laughing at your clear pain and suffering between the sketches. I guess I can relate, but I still can’t shake the feeling that I’m an asshole 😂
I cannot stop watching this. It’s so GD funny and good. Every second of it. Masterpiece! Hi hello I need to be seeing a Cole Escola on every screen I have 🙌🙌🙌
I’m determined to think of a way for us to do an entire film noir feature together. It will all take place in a small bathroom. And my God, Cole, you’re one of the few in this business who is an ACTUAL genius. A bonafide GD genius.💋💋👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The fucking million percent straight guy audition for a musical. His take on the ideas are new thought for delivering the lyrics had me crying. So true.
Can't stop laughing ! THANK YOU, Cool Cole ! You're making the quarantine easier to put up with ! You are a truly a national treasure ! Please keep up the good work ! :-)
Cole! Thank you for shining your comedic light in these dark times. Post your Venmo so we can help you buy more wigs and props! (We’re overdue for an update from Bernadette P... just saying!) xoxo
