As most people know Santillos burned down in January. I told Al that whenever he needed me and Barstool we'd be there with funds to rebuild his iconic pizzeria. He is finally ready to start. We put tshirts on sale and started a gofund me for him. 100% of it goes to Al

Ive had the honor of trying Santillos pizza one time in my life when i met Al’s brother Vinnie at a physical rehabilitation center. Bless Vinnie i think he’s passed away years ago. We never stayed in touch. He was a great guy and his sister is a wonderful woman.

Al is such a real deal class act! The man you see is real and he’s an absolute legend in the pizza community. Nothing beat the time I ordered the focaccia with fresh mutz and San Marzano… Al told me it looked so good that he would have to make one for himself - the ingredients POP on the focaccia. It’s so special. Thank you Dave for everything you’re doing for the community and Al! That oven bakes some of the greatest breads I ever ate around the world. Man’s an artist and a legend of a dying breed. Looking forward to coming back when it’s all good

In our day of private equity buying up everything and inserting robots in craftsman places, this is refreshing, hope to heck he gets going again, having said all that, it will be nice to have a new mop and bucket swishing around in the new oven....oy vay.
