It's that time of year, gift giving time. In this video, I show you a simple fabric Holiday/Christmas Gift Bag DIY. You can feel good about helping to save the planet while still giving a beautiful gift. This simple tutorial is easy enough for a beginner while having the potential to engage the avid sewist. It's also great for stash-busting! (Can you tell I want everyone to make gift bags?) If you do make one, or 100, please show me! Use the hashtag #regiftbag and tag me on instagram @queendeluxesew. I would love to see what you make. This video is also part of the Home for the Holidays playlist I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. Stay safe and healthy.

Visiting via the costubers. I love this idea! It's a perfect way to use up scrap fabric.

Another hit video! I remember when your mother started making these, maybe in the 1970s. Every bag was reused, often the same year! They were a treasured resource. Thanks for spreading this wonderful idea!

Yay! I thought I was the only one who irons tissue paper.......... we use cloth gift bags also - we do use some wrapping paper, and regular gift bags but we have somewhat of a contest to see how many times we can reuse them. In the 80's I once had a gift wrapped in 1950's paper from my grandmother..... fun stuff.

I love this idea so much, usually my family just reuses those plastic gift bags from the stores, but this year I'm going to try to make some of these!!!!

I made some fabric drawstring bags for a gift exchange last year. Sadly, I had to give away my fabric stash before I moved and haven't been able to get more because 2020. We're wrapping in plain brown paper this year so it can be recycled. I love the string of spools behind you it looks great!

Sorry about your fabric stash. That must have been hard to give it all away. I have hope that the vaccine will get things back to a point where we can go shopping again. I miss going to EstateSales. Brown paper is a great way to wrap. It looks so beautiful.

@@QueenDeLuxe it was a bummer to give it away but I gifted it to my best friend there who was out of a job but loved to sew too so now she has plenty!
