It really is a shame I had to scroll this far down for this post. What an amazing testament to the build quality, 5 people different can consistently run a similar time, and then still being able to drive it home after being beaten on all day

@@ramonlevario12 A PG won't do anything if the engine tune isn't on and the suspension is off. Some cars get inconsistent as they heat, or when too cold so you have variability in the build. If your suspension is at it's limit or beyond or not tuned right you will get inconsistent launches and 60ft times. Ruby seems dead nuts consistent. I really think they will get her into the 7s soon. Even more, multiple drivers, one car, consistency is really something to be proud of. Plus, the engine is really holding together. I've left plenty of engine parts on the track. Plenty of one run builds where something went just wrong enough and back on the stand. Seeing the engine hold together, be consistent (i.e. not wearing excessively), means he's got plenty of build room in that motor before he starts breaking stuff.

Replying to my own because I just wanted to reiterate, at least in my older experience how having a car like Ruby was a HOLY GRAIL. Twenty years ago getting reliable, streetable, not breaking every few pulls, 8 second car was... really expensive and even then the reliability just wasn't there on the parts, engine, suspension, or trans. It was common to have broken trans and engines on old iron (which we pretty much all ran, this was before the 1K HP 4-cylenders appeared on the scene) even breaking 11s and 12s. 8s and you didn't have to rebuild it every few passes or leave some gears behind now and then. Just wow. My how times have changed. I've been out of the loop for 15 years but man, that's a unicorn for my era.

I'm sure as much publicity and advertisement he gives Bradenton, they give him a killer deal. And he rented the track for a whole weekend, I bet a slow Monday wasn't much more.

I had an 89 6 speed red on red in high school. I let all my buddys rip it. A few years later my father had a c6 pro charged with 605hp to the wheel. He let everyone who rode in it rip it. Cleetus you're the man. Because there is nothing like getting behind the wheel and letting the bald eagles fly. Everyone deserves a chance. It's what this country is all about. I love all of the videos but I gotta say this has to be one of my absolute favorites. All 3 channels involved are just a bunch of super humble dudes that all share the same passion (although slightly different content). This group has to be the greatest collab to ever happen! This video feels like it's worth way more than money can buy, the feeling of going that fast in such a well put together machine is seriously a dream come true for us car people. There's so much pure joy in this video, explainable. For some people, going that fast is high on their bucket list but they never thought they would ever have that chance.
