The DesKE team - consisting of Professor Shadd Maruna (Queen's University Belfast), Professor Fergus McNeill (University of Glasgow), Professor Stephen Farrall (University of Sheffield) and Dr Claire Lightowler (Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice, University of Strathclyde) have developed a 'desistance framework' which is now a dominant conceptual model within offender rehabilitation policy and practice in England and Wales.
The team won Second Prize for 'Outstanding Impact in #PublicPolicy' at the ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2014. The ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize recognises and rewards the successes of ESRC-funded researchers achieving outstanding economic and societal impacts.
