Hi: I recorded these Vocals in Heider's 3. You are hearing the double and triple but not the basic except for a little leakage. Stephens guitar and basic vocal are muted. Echo is live chamber. Mic is tube U-67. Thank you, Bill Halverson PS I'm 80 now and still have the video's in my head.
Bill Halverson, thank you for everything you've done with these guys especially. Their music wouldn't be as iconic as it is without you. You're a legend. 💙
hi, i am completely clueless about music theory but i would like to know what this means, could you give the timestamp on this part? or explain what this means?
@@demonator65 Do you know the solfege? It's the "do re mi fa so la ti do". The most basic chord type is a triad which contains three notes: the root, the third, and the fifth. So if you wanted to have a chord start on "do", it would be do mi and sol. 1, 3, and 5. If you wanted a chord to start on "re", it would be re fa la. If you wanted the chord to start on the fifth (a very common chord in music of western Europe and America), it would be sol ti re. I'm not sure where what the above describes happens in the song, but he is saying that Crosby moves between the mi and so of the chord
A duo = 2 ??? More than 2 people singing! Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel were the best harmonizing duo and #2 would be Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley from Alice in Chains ! And so it is said !
Crosby sounds like he’s just talking. It’s amazing how effortless talented people make things seem. I heard the song last night for the first time and I really liked the part where Stills sings a line, then he and Nash together then Crosby comes in. I thought I had noticed something few people noticed but I’m not special😆this song will be in my top 5, at least, favorite songs of all time. Rest easy Cros…
if you look up acapella extractor you can upload the original to get an acapella version (if you don't have the song downloaded you can use a youtube to mp3 site)
Love this!! I used to do this song with friends (hey, we tried! it was way too much fun the way they time the perfect breaks etc.) This is fun to sing with when you have the best harmony around! Of course it's not the same as having Stephen's voice, which I love! None of us could play like Stephen but no one else does either, even if they think they can. btw, saw CSN&Y & various forms many times. Stephen Stills came here once, alone. He'd gone skiing that day & sprained his hand! Said they had given him shots in it and he apologized, saying he didn't know how well his playing would be. Amazing! He made minimum mistakes. However he slid off his stool a couple of times. Hummmmm! Loved it!
The root and middle harmonies are both Steve Stills (double-tracked) with Graham Nash handling the high harmony. You can clearly hear the timbre change as David Crosby only sings the line “They are three together, They are for” in the chorus. Listen to just the left side in the recording and you will hear Steve Stills very clearly. This is the reason that these harmonies sound so homogeniously “tight.” These vocals were all recorded on separate tracks and panned hard left, center, and hard right.
