Helsinki is the capital, largest and most populous city in Finland. Located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Known as the "Daughter of the Baltic" or the "Pearl of the Baltic", Helsinki is located at the tip of a peninsula and on 315 islands. The city centre is located on a southern peninsula, Helsinginniemi ("Cape of Helsinki").
