HELSREACH Part 13 - FINALE - A Warhammer 40k Story - REACTION

26:40 This was a last stand tactic developed in Helsreach during the previous Ork invasion of Armageddon. The soldiers, militia or desperate civilians defending a building would hold off the advancing Orks for as long as they could, and making them pay for every inch of ground. This encouraged more and more Orks to pile in to the fight, until there was only one surviving human defender on the top floor. This person would be provided with a shrine to the God-Emperor, and a detonator. When the Orks were on the cusp of breaking through the last defences, this defender would say a swift prayer, commend his soul to the God-Emperor, and detonate the hidden charges that were seeded through the building, collapsing the entire structure and killing every Ork now trapped within it. Given how ludicrously huge Hive buildings are, this kamikaze tactic could eradicate hundreds of Orks at a stroke, and turn the previously fortifiable position into a rubble strewn killing ground for the buildings either side of it.

The sword guy you guys saw with the golden crown behind him and the black long sword is known as the Emperors Champion. They are basically the best swordman in the galaxy. When they fall, and it rarely happens, the next in line immediately takes up the Black Sword to continue the fight. With the Emperors Champion falling and the immediate successor falling soon after, adds another layer of how bleak the entire situation was for the Imperium on armageddon

And he will hold the line." - this is one of my favorite quotes in WH40k. These series show the power of the Astartes and how grand they are compared to the normal mortal human, but i also love the rare moments between the space marines and the regular guardsmen(women) in which they pay respect to their strife.

Star Wars is the kind of universe where "everyone" own their own starship to explore the Galaxy, like its a car. Warhammer 40K is the kind of universe where the fallen are put on the side of the trenches like sandbags, so that they can serve the Emperor even in death.

yes losing an emperor class titan would hurt you in a war, in fact they are so precious and holy that the forge would that built it would mourn its loss and perhaps even the whole system or sub-sector may mourn it, for they are immensely holy and cost a ridiculous amount to produce.

MarioB & Nicole, thank you so much for finishing this series. I am pleased that you stuck it out. I can understand why you both would prefer something like this. There is a lot to understand about 40K, the lore, the factions, weapons, and so on. Its hard to soak in everything. So for newcomers(I still consider myself one), it is difficult. But hopefully your interests have been sparked, and you will learn more about 40K. I don't really care about the tabletop game, as I am more interested in the lore and everything else about 40K(books,games, and so on). My favorite Chapter is the Raven Guard. I suggest you take a lot at Luetin09's channel, as he has some great 40K content. Wish you all the best for your channel. The Emperor Protects!!!

Grimaldus has many brothers. The brothers who died are within his squad and the closest to him. However his entire chapter has 7000 astartes, and there are many other chapters out there. Losing members of your squad is akin to losing apart of you since they fight and bleed together for centuries unlike us humans.

Strategically the war is over for the orks at this point, but it'll take the imperium years to finish off the job of dealing with the billions of orks still on the ground.

I've been looking forward to this.

grimaldus also ends up helping out another chapter called the celestial lions also fighting the orks, and its in the same war, but grimaldus was the head of a black templar crusade force and he had about a hundred black templars at helsreach, he went to help the celestial lions which deployed there entire chapter, so all of the celestial lions were there, meaning around a thousand marines, by the time grimaldus arrives theres barely a company left, a company being 100 marines, after the final battle, there is only one celestial lion left in his entire chapter, 1 out of 1000, in helsreach, when the ship crashes down, in the audiobook grimaldus remembers the chapter it used to belong to known as the shadow wolves, describing how the last of the shadow wolves died surrounded by hordes of aliens, this happens quite a bit

The Astartes are genetically augmented using the "gene-seed" of the Primarchs (Emperor's super human sons) so they're naturally 7'-7'6'' without the armor.

While the armour does make them bigger. They have undergone massive augmentation and they are taller and stronger than average humans.

They are no longer humans, space marines are considered a trans-human species. The number of changes in their body allows us to rank them as superhumans. Therefore, their size varies from 2 meters and 10 centimeters to 3 meters tall, depending on age, chapter geneseed and size before surgeon.

Space Marines are genetically altered super soldiers. Out side of their armor they are almost eight feet of pure muscle

So, just a bit on some questions you might have, that the series didn't answer. Adeptus Astartes AKA Space Marines technically ARE human, but have been implanted with augmentations, and extra organs (like an extra heart and lung, among other things). They are nigh-immortal (like how Grimaldus & Kador fought together for 200 years) superhuman killing machines that have basically lost much of their humanity--hence why there's a feeling of disconnect between them & the normal soldiers. The "[Rogal] Dorn" they kept referring to was the Primarch the Black Templars descended from; and the Primarchs were basically the Emperor's sons and meant to be the generals of the Space Marines. to explain their height thing, its both the astartes are around 8 to 9 foot tall, and their armor only adds to their bulk and size slightly, underneath they are pure muscle.

The other survivor is grimaldus's equal, the guys that died were his men, his brothers, many of which he fought with for hundreds of years, the emperor's champion as also a commander like grimaldus, there's also a book series called the horus heresy which has a lot of stories kinda like this, alot of death, betrayal and emotion in warhammer 40k

My dear child, that was not simply a 'tank'. That was an Ordinatus Engine. A capital starship heavy weapon mounted on a ground carriage. In this case, a nova cannon, which is capable of bisecting a cruiser in one shot. More than enough to cause God Breakah to pull a disappearing trick!

it good to see people at are not overly familiar with Warhammer can still enjoy it

They are very much taller. Over 2 meters, with musculature that makes Arnold and Coleman look like babies. The power armour just makes them look EVEN bigger. Also, Astartes are human, but they have all instinct and understanding of pair bonding, intimate relationships, and sexual urges bred out of them. Those would be a distraction.

This was a fan made film. The person who made it is working with Games Workshop(the parent company) on a new series featuring The Blood Angels Chapter if I remember correctly.

Astartes where born human but during their childhood they received special training and biological enhacements in form of the so called gene seed. The gene seed is a catch all term for a set of additional organs and biological modifications like an secondary heart, a third lung, a secondary petituary gland ( the brain part resonsible for producing human growth hormones ) which is the primary reason why an Astartes , depending from whos genetic line the hail from, stand around 7.5-8ft tall. There are 19 of these bio enhancements and the last 20ths one is a bio mechnical subdermal suit that connects to their nervous system, which inturn can be linked to their armor which lets them controll said armor as its a second skin for them. The messed up thing about it is that Grimaldus did "die" when that chapel fell on his head. It was supposed to be kind of like a trial to make sure that he would adapt to his new position.

The armor makes them a little bit taller then what they already are Astarties normally stand around 7 feet tall. Also the space marines are only human on the inside after they go through the surgeries to become what they are in this series they are no longer humans on the inside and could be classified as a mutant race.

You guys should also check out Angles of Death. Richard Boylan did so great on this series that Games Workshop actually gave him a job with a nice budget and some of the same authors will be working with him!

The armour doesn't make space marines that much bigger, there just that massive anyway, also bowed to the old woman instead of kneeling because he would only been the knee to his lord, not a human

There is no season 2 war never end. But there is a series scheduled for 2019 by the same creator named Angel of death

The book Helsreach is better mainly because it has alot more detail and explains how he got out of the fallen church... Iv read it 3 times and it gets better... I hope you guys really like the Warhammer 40K universe.

Space marines in general are 7.7or 7.8 but in the armor there 7.9 too 8.1 so not much of a difference ps guys the war for the planet is still going on for ooohhh 3 centuries or more and noooooo the cannon was just a arm of the weapon not the whole thing and again the other templar was a tech marine they aren't part of squads but a few per company so grimaldus was the last of his squad
