I never understood what they meant by “Your Darkness.” What is Grimaldus’ the cause of and why is it effecting those around him?

I liked the smoother "camera-work" in this one. I was able to see and appreciate the fine detail more. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war and stunning artwork.

BLOOD OF DORN

I love how economical you've made all of the Marines' fighting styles. Nothing fancy, nothing elaborate, just cut, slash, thrust, move on to the next target, all with a fluidity, economy of motion, and rapidity that isn't really seen in anyone else we've seen so far. It really showcases the utter contempt they show for their so-called "foe".

If there is *any* justice, you will get some kind of deal where you make a pile of money and I get to watch this in an IMAX theater.

Truly there are few miracles greater than what ser Boylan has wrought this day.

I never realized this but the sound design for the crash is amazing. The flash of the impact then the boom of the shock.

Have you thought about getting in touch with Jonathan Keeble to see if he can re-record that speech he gives on the wall? Unless you can work some aural sorcery on what was on the audiobook.

Holy crap, that ending. You know you're in it deep when Helbrecht tells you "Hell is coming". Episodes 4 and 6 and their endings are definitely my faves so far. Such good work.

There's something to be said about how such an over the top and brutal universe as Warhammer 40k bring so beautifully portrayed in such a minimalistic fashion. Well done sir. Very well done.

The cinematography in this series is fucking brilliant. Every shot, pan and angle is pure gold. Perfect pacing. It's even too good for warhammer.

One little detail I loved was the (Pain?) Boyz ears flicking downward as Grim entered the room

Faaaahhckk I shouldn't have watched it, I was just beginning to settle down after the last great episode!^^ once more awe-inspiring

Warp be damned, the details in the animation are so astonishing - especially the shock gun ork, the way you could see its confusion/surprise in its body language. And the camerawork keeps being genius, especially the very last scene with the thunderhawk.

The beginning with Priamus just watching as the ship crashes always makes me laugh for some reason.

Watching the first three parts led me to purchase the audiobook from Black Library. Listened to the whole thing over the course of a week at work. Fantastic story! This, of course, takes it to a whole new level. GW is missing an opportunity here. I would pay twice the cost of the audiobook (and they're not cheap!) if it was accompanied by visuals like this. Minimal investment on their part, too. They own all the 40K graphical assets. They just need to pay Mr. Boylan a hefty salary to produce more content and watch the money come flooding in. Regardless, please keep doing these. Champing at the bit for the next one.

The camerawork in this one is amazing, especially the ending. I'm getting chills.

If it helps in any way to churn these masterpieces out then i'm sure i speak for the majority when i say i eagerly anticipate every new episode like a junkie waiting on a fix, i get more excited over this series then any other at the moment and am just so very grateful for the time, work and effort you've chosen to put into this. To see a lore that i and so many others treasure so much done so extremely well, from the directing and visuals to the pacing and story choice, and to have done it all single-handed no less... honestly is nothing short of amazing and a monumental achievement. I honestly believe this series will be remembered as the spark that ignited (hopefully) an awesome cinematic universe.. Deadpool was made because of fan reaction to a CG test trailer, with a little more notoriety this could achieve the exact same effect. Its up to us people, spread the word, tell any and everyone, tell youtube channels that do battle reports for 40k, walk into your local GW and tell everyone you see! That is truly what i believe this series is capable of, and for that alone i thank you Mr. Boylan. Cannot WAIT to see what happens next, keep up the awesome work dude :D

dude this series perfectly shows the grim darknes of 40k. I read the book a few years ago and i loved it but with this visuals its so much more. like how it must feel to see a titan, how cruel orks are and how dangerous, how big astartes really are compared to humans. man i love your work. thank you very much.

(In Andrejs voice and manner) Reading books, listening to them, watching movies, playing video games, we experience a story which might be different if you watch it after you have read a book. Even though when people read book and then watch a movie, there is a chance that you might get conflict of how you imagined story and characters from reading the book vs how it is represented on movie or perhaps a video game. But I know that, with this movie of yours, there would be no conflict if I have read book first.. its that good. Its an art, not money grabber thing. I have watched it and loved it. Looked at every detail, expression, the angles, the way you presented the story, you animation skills, music, the whole black/white theme that demonstrated someones emotional&spirit state and then change to colorful when fighting started... I can go on so, congratz man, this movie of yours and everything in it, is perfect. The choice for Grimaldus voice actor is so fitting, like Robert Downey is for Iron Man. And for every other character, Aaron have nailed the voice choice. Andrej voice with that Russian accent, noice. Just noice. For me, Grimaldus is what a real Chaplain is, leader not boss. Someone who I would fight alongside with. With this movie you have showed that even though space marines are super soldiers, they are still humans and have heart. That even with Black Templars which are fearsome and fearless warriors you have showed that they care and love their brothers, that they aint heartless. You showed that Imperial Guard even without enchanments, they are fearless as much as Astartes. You showed reality in warfare with all those meetings and preparations that they had, that even if Grimaldus is Reclusiarch, someone who leads and inspires people, he let anger flow through him few times, yet as time passed on, he conquered that. You showed that even in grim dark universe of 40k, there is light, there is hope and that there is love. You showed what brotherhood really is and made some man shed a real tear. You touched my heart with this movie. I can go on an on with all of this, but RU-vid will not let me post comment with that many characters. You havent wrote the book but what you did is you presented this story perfectly. Your animations might not be as one the Marvel has (fancy and shiny) but they are very good and I like them(really, you are good with them), you are one man army, this was done with love and hard work. Thank you for this Richard.

Fantastic as always! I was hoping that Grimaldus' recollection of the final moments of the Shadow Wolves would have been portrayed. I love that part of the book, but I can imagine the reasons why you didn't include that part :)

If only Games Workshop could produce something this magnificent and awe inspiring in a movie or as part of a story line in a 3rd person MMO.

It's obvious you've captured the feel of the universe from the books and lore and you have a lot of fans because of how you've treated the source material. I haven't read many of of the books, but i'm an old, ooooold skool gamer dabbling with GW for 30+ and have played many of the old beardy games and as such iv'e seen 40k presented many different ways. I really appreciate your take on the verse'. Just a comment.... and a small opinion... I feel you don't need to rush this. I think others who've viewed your videos understand the passion, skill and time you've put into these animations (I mean mocap, voice-over, sound-effect editing, the music-track editing, etc. etc.) and others see your talent in general film making. My point is you've given a lot over a short period, and I (for one) would rather see your full vision, even if it takes more time to release your videos (just IMHO). If this pace works for you and drives your passion then great! I'm just commenting as one fan of your work and don't want to see you burn out! P.S. If you are wanting to engage with this on a business level, GW as a company is foolish not to connect with you.

Keep up the great work dude, This is awesome content that really shows the Space Marines to a more humanistic light. The animation was a bit concerning at first, but I really feel like you know what you're doing now cause I see how it really complements and accents the story being told. Dont feel like you need to rush episodes, you take as much time as necessary because they look and sound fucking amazing.
