They actually used to be 1-3 Kilometers tall WAY back in the old lore. But the problem was simple. Who the fuck else would be able to match that? So they had to shrink them effectivly to Eldar size which is always dictated by the same constraint. The width and height of any given webway portal. And as anyone who has read some of the few novels involving Eldar titans they have to either duck and crouch to get through or jump through the hole and roll. Yes Eldar titans are that nimble. Their made out of one single piece of wraithbone, makes complex movements much easier. And if not for their nimble nature they would have no hope against emperor class titans. sadly they are only 30-60m tall now.

Eli Gutman a 1-3 Kilometer titan would be absolutely ridiculous for the fact that it is too big to do anything but nuke the whole battlefield to hell.

That was their function...but they reduced the size to be able to actually put one in the battlefield

Deamon93IT If I remember rightly in both the book and the audiobook that conversation goes on longer and Grimaldus lays down the law for her saying "Your" rather than "Our Emperor" and accusing him of blasphemy and basically threatens to rip her out of the tank and throw her out the window if she does it again.

To be fair Grimaldus has shown a lot of restraint just because Invigilata is a key asset to Hellsreach. If that weren't the case I doubt he would have been so "calm"

There are also legions that consist only of female Princeps, such as the Legio Solaria, so I don't really know where this myth about "1 in a trillion chance" comes from. . The badass thing about Princeps Majoris Zarha Mancion is not that she was a woman once, it is more that she is operating a machine like her Imperator Titan. Stormherald has a really bad temper and somewhat hates Zarha, so he is really difficult to operate even compared to other Imperator class titans. He wanted to get rid of her since Zarha was put in charge of him and during the Battle for Helsreach, he finally managed to blind her actions with his rage, which lead to her going berserk and walking right into a trap. When that happened, Stormherald used her shame in order to grab her mind and attempted to kill it. This is not special in any way, all titans finally kill their princeps like this in case they don't die through the hands of an enemy, the special thing about this is that Stormherald tried to do this way more often than other titans and at the time it eventually worked Zarha was really, really old already, which is a depiction of her insane willpower. What's even more insane is the fact that she actually CAME BACK from this state of a "drowning mind", which was pretty much entirely unheard of at that time. She basically pushed Stormherald, one of the most vile Imperator class titans the Mechanicus had in their arsenal at that time, out of her mind and simply refused to die, because she had given a promise and didn't want to break it. . The last thing that adds to her badassery is the way she died. After the moderati's failed attempt to kill Godbreaker with Stormherald's hellstorm canon, the titan was basically devoid of power. Godbreaker went in for the kill and in an last act of defiance, Zarha hit the mega-gargant with the titan's arm in melee. The only way this is possible is that Stormherald itself helped her with that. So we could say, after centuries of unwanted cooperation, in their final moments Stormherald and Zarha eventually became friends and died together as such.

@@sonofthewolfguardianofthef1214 Honestly nothing, even in terms of the Space Marines the only reason they are men is because the Emperor chose the Primarchs to be men. If he listened to Malcador, the Primarchs would've been a sisterhood and so the Astartes would've also been purely women. Being a woman in 40k has actually not really any downsides compared to being a man.

To be fair, 40k war machines, especially god machines like titans and ordanitus, get pissed if they are not woken properly. Even properly woken they will try to overwhelm and subsume their pilots. You see just that several times in stories that involve princepts of Warlord and Imperator Titans.

Crozius has no special powers, it's a blunt weapon. Haven't read the book but i guess in the end they were fighting with anything they could improvise with.

Well it did seem a little too ambitious. Starting on Holy Tera, an Inquisitor that acts more like a Renegade American instead of a Stoic Unwavering Arbiter. After the pilot it was sort of hard to follow. At least it wasn't like some fan vids on youtube such as Exterminatus and the Xeno loving garbage like Bloom.

whats stopping you? You should get into it. if you live in a rural area make sure you start with a friend or family member to have a consistent opponent. Plus sometimes you just get lucky and happen to live in a small town thats really into 40k. Happens much more often in England's "north" than anywhere in the US. (england north is sort of, kind of, "the southerners" of england.) But its really much more London and everyone else tbh, Purely outside perspective I'm an expat Canadian stuck in trump's shithole. As in the US government has effectivly made it impossible for me to move home short of not updating my citizenship and being deported i guess haha. That's a good idea now i think of it.

Living in the DC universe is honestly nothing special unless you know a superhero or ARE a superhero. And the % of superheroes compared to the population of earth is very very small. Just like Space marines compared to the population of a galaxy spanning empire. So yea if we're talking about just being a civilian, honestly star trek seems to be the best. (look up kardan stronos or Clan Raukaan to find out how/ why they changed) Nowadays Iron Hands (and successors) just have a close relationship with the mechanicus, and replace lost limbs with cybernetics rather than regrowing the missing bit and surgically reinstall it. No more chopping off perfectly healthy skin. They are highly independant, i mean for goodness sake they've been doing better making their own decisions after they got stuck north of the "great rift" and the Iron Hand secretly trained the Primaris marines before they would go into stasis. We don't just Like them, we already knew each other! I don't know if the successor chapters to Iron Hands knew, their all very close so probably would be my guess.

don valle Welcome, brother! Helsreach is a great place to be introduced to 40k. I've read a fair few Black Library novels but Helsreach is the one that most perfectly encapsulates 40k (or at least the Imperial side of things).

As loath as I am to try to suggest improvements, I tend to agree. If one has never butchered an animal then the thwack from an axe hitting flesh is not easy to duplicate. Forged in Fire has good sounds to go from, Richard. Try lifting some sounds from there. As for two weapons hitting each other, that's going to be harder to duplicate. But there are several Historical re-enactment companies out there (The White Company comes to mind). Try looking for sounds from their battles. Though there weapons are blunted the sounds are similar.
