Saw this today at par turntable and roundhouse and later near lanhydrock Cornwall . Very impressive sight :-) what was great was people turned out of all ages, genders , families , couples children at par turntable , at the station , over bridges and fields on route ,, everywhere ! . Fabulous to see such a broad spectrum of interest .
When I think that my parents saw her as an A1 at the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924/5 and I several times travelled behind her under Alan Pegler's first ownership and now has had more manifestations than City of Truro, she is some survivor.
No way! That's me in the blue hoodie in the last shot haha. Just checked your channel and it looks like we went to the SDR on the same day, 7/4/2023! Subscribed!

I will give you a tip off, the link below is a suspected movement of Sir Nigel Gresley from Crewe to Bishops Lydeard. It might not be, it could be another LS locomotive i.e royal Scot or Britannia, but according to my sources it should be an A4: www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U91622/2023-05-09/detailed
Looks to be doing about 25 mph at the top of Hemerdon with 9 mk1s (this was the maximum load a Castle was allowed to take on its own in BR days). Pretty impressive!
You are impressed that, after millions have been spent changing and developing Flying Scotsman, it can now do what Castles did routinely a century ago?
@@steamtothewest-trecanrail I think he is inferring that "The" Flying Scotsman is the train that used to run from Kings X to Edinburgh and Flying Scotsman is the locomotive. Seems to perpetuate mainly through MSM.
