Thanks to Curly Proverbz, I’m officially a henna head. 😝 My shedding decreased dramatically after introducing henna into my wash day routine. Henna glosses work best for me. I mix one spoon of henna with water to make a paste (I prepare this the night before wash day and let it sit overnight so that the Lawson dye can take effect) and I put that into my deep conditioner. After deep conditioning, I do the LCO method and style. Game changer!!!! I am retaining massive amounts of length.
I haven’t used it in a while because I’ve gotten lazy and I’m trying to get through all my store bought products but I will definitely be going back to making the ayervedic products. I basically had no shedding when I was using henna regularly.
I need to start doing this. I've been using cassia plus other Ayurvedic herbs consistently for about 2 years now but need a boost and have been watching these videos as a refresher. Congrats on retaining more length! P.S. When you say one spoon, do you mean tablespoon or teaspoon? I've been reluctant to use henna because I don't want to change my hair colour but might have to put that aside to get the strengthening benefits.
ulala9898 I was initially concerned about the henna coloring my hair but it turns out that it’s very slight and barely noticeable. I use one teaspoon per week so it’s a slow, gradual strengthener.
Love you for always keep us updated on what your doing. Your always so passionate, polite, eloquent and original in everything you do. So blessed to have you, your an Angel! And truly ever since I started using your growth oils and henna masks. My hair has become shinier, stronger, more defined, and ofcourse stronger! You deserve all the love you put out Farida! 💜💜💜👑👑👑
Wow, your hair just keeps getting thicker and thicker. My mother dyes her hair with henna. She does it every 2 weeks. That stuff loosened her curl pattern. It’s unbelievable. I have read people talking about it but it is amazing to witness.
I took your advice and made a henna and chebe mask. I love it and hate it. It's messy and smelly but it made my hair so soft and it literally transformed my Afro to a curly coily texture. It was so soft. I appreciate you and your sharing. This is a blessing. As a male I always received negative feedback on my hair. Now that I'm older and using natural remedies I'm seeing healthier hair and receiving positive comments. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii. Yes black people live in Hawaii too. Lol. 😁👌🏾❤️😏
THIS WORKS!!!! I’ve been treating my hair with henna for the past 5 months , along with a protective style under wigs , liquid biotin supplement and my hair has transformed , I’ve never had hair this strong. The shedding / fall has reduced , thickness increased and my length has been retained . 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Did one today. First did a coffee rinse. Then a henna, fenugreek, castor and aloe oil mix. As moisture lock in. I'm addicted to the affect of coffee on my hair. The shine is unreal. The henna mix popped and intensified the effect.
Start with with henna as a gloss mixed with deep conditioner and some essential oils rosemary and peppermint that’s called gloss . She deep conditions her hair every week as do I as well as wash . My hair Flourishing 💃🏽💃🏽.
Megan Wells all her videos are a bit overwhelming & hard to understand at times but I agree w/ Nick M. Just add some henna to ur deep conditioner. Check out HennaSooq.
start with oils and include that with prepoo/hot oil treatments oil scalp and massages and sealing moisture after applying a leave in and cream. i can share my recipe if you want.
For dryness after a henna mask, I use a fresh aloe vera leaf (blended and strained) along with Aussie 3 minute deep conditioner. I then sit under a dryer for 20 minutes and then rinse. Hope this helps!
@@mzomg7671 my hair is still gel black. I do leave it for over 6 hour's before using it so the dye can release and I also mix it with Amla and Brahmi and condition.
Henna is doing great things for my hair and I am able to retain length which is great! Adding the aloe Vera is a beautiful touch, I tend to mix the henna with brewed coffee, lavender essential oil, cacao powder and conditioner My hair is starting to get this really rich deep brown reddish colour which is 😍 Gonna start adding oils to the glosses again, the last treatment was drying and it’s getting colder now so either olive or avocado oil will be perfect to use Thank you so much for everything you share with us Curly Proverbz, your channel is amazing 🙏🏾 🌺 ✨
I use their red raj, aloe, amla and indigo for my gray hair. I should try the slippery elm next. I usually do my roots with a straight mask then I will mix the rest into a gloss for my lengths every 6 weeks. I sometimes skip the gloss and just do my roots. I’m a henna head for life. Keeps my 50 +yo selfs hair long, shiny and healthy.
I too use the red raj for gray coverage. Do you find the grays on your length get good color coverage from the gloss? I've been hesitant to use a gloss because henna takes so much time/effort. I need the coverage.
house-thanks for putting your approx age , been looking everywhere for something to cover stronger grays , not just a few here and the the struggle is real 😂
Deadra Rahaman It does but it is work sometimes. It didn’t cover each and every one. There were times in my temple area I had to go back in again. I have a lot of gray though. So for me even though it doesn’t cover every single one the overall look for me is beautiful. Truthfully if there ever was a safe hair dye without ppd and all those dangerous chemicals that I’m sensitive to I would use that 2x a year and the rest of the time henna/indigo. Until then I use the herbs.
Nichole H I will cover the lengths with the straight herbs around every 3 months and the other times I’ll mix it in the oil and/or conditioner for a gloss so as not to dry my hair out. The gloss does cover the gray some. Like I commented to someone else. It’s not going to cover gray like chemicals and I wish there was a safe hair dye I could use like once maybe twice a year and the rest of the time use herbs but until then I try to make it a labor of love. Not only that it keeps my hair long and shiny.
I can absolutely qualify the use of henna. I used it on my hair for about two months religiously and the results blew my mind. My strands were thicker and my hair did grow a few inches so it definitely works( I need to start back though).
No worries. If you find it still a bit much try a gloss with one teaspoon of each powder plus two teaspoons of melted Shea butter and your usual moisturising DC X
How often do you give your hair a red raj touch up? Whats your hair length. That red raj on the site is lovely however it gave me a weird highlight that I didnt care for
Lola Ready yes I mix up henna wait for dye release then I mix up the indigo right before I want to use it. Then I mix it together for dark brown color. Like a 25%/75% mix. The indigo is a black with greenish blue tint sometimes. That’s why it’s usually done with henna to balance those green blue tones. Also I have heard that indigo needs henna to stay on the hair longer. I have seen people with lighter hair just use indigo alone and their hair turned jet black with out greenish blue tone. Maybe it depends on the batch.
I have these--havent tried my ashwaganda yet; thanks! Surprised no fenugreek in this 😁 Definitely a henna head here, thanks to you! Glosses are so easy and nourishing. I've learned a lot over the years and you started me to researching after watching your vids years ago. Thank you, Farida!!
@@elzaphilippea7668 it's when you combine several teaspoons of herbs with conditioner and use that. It gives you the benefits of the powders but the moisture and texture of conditioner. I use a cheap conditioner with no silicones and mix in a little henna, amla, brahmi, bhringraj, etc.
I use henna, aloe vera, amla & a few drops of lavendar essential oil mixed into a deep conditioner. I'm going to grab some slippery elm abs ashwagandha to help prevent any hormonal shedding and to help thicken my hair back up. I have noticed that my hair sheds less now and it looks fuller in the front because I have all these new lil hairs growing out! I can't wait to see what it looks like in the spring💓💓.
Henna is the truth, I use henna and aloe Vera from HennaSooq as well Nappyfu channel hipped me to them and I’m happy to see you like then as well. And I use belle bar organic henna hair mask powders and add that to my conditioner in between a full henna/cassia day :). Henna has taken my hair care to a higher level and I have retained more growth since adding it to my regimen. Thank you curly proverb for sharing your journey
Thank you for the update. Hennah has made a great difference in the strength and elasticity of my hair. I can’t wait to try this new mask. I also use it to cover my grays with us updated version still let my grays turn that reddish color
HENNA HEAD!! Curious if you've tried Moringa?? I began adding both Moringa & Ashwaganda to my mixes about 8 months ago and it's been so wonderful - they've amped my treatments to another level. Moringa is also a fantastic addition to oil and tea infusions. (I also consume both daily and the physical benefits are outstanding). Great video as always!!
Please do a update video on deep conditioning! You are my absolutely gorgeous and my favorite content producer! 😘😘😍 And yes, I'm a henna head. It's my secret weapon for growth and retention, but I need to step it up to get past bra strap lenght!
Ree Miles hi Ree!!! A secret that got me long hair very fast was two strand twists... when I started twisting as my weekly styles I was able to retain length easier
For the first time I tried henna (Morrocan Method brand, it has Cassia) it was strong for my hair and I did add a conditioner to the mix. It kinda intimidated me to keep using it but (can't really say after 1 use) my hair is healthier than ever. I need to get my hands on some more aloe vera powder (threw away my batch, bought from an unknown source, was afraid to use it) Thanks for your updates on hair care and what other choices we can use to add to our repertoire. 👑💖
I cautiously added ashwagandha and aloe powder to my henna gloss today then opened RU-vid to this video! I hydrated the henna with green tea and other herbs rinse. I can't wait rinse!
I just did a mix of cassia, amla, aloe vera powder and 9 goddesses herbs w/henna. I left it dry until I was ready to do my hair. Now I'll add some slippery elm after seeing this. Thx!
Your hair looks amazing! I can't order from hennasooq to Israel but I'll order stuff from iherb. I actually ordered henna from Amazon that doesn't live my hair dry like the other henna I used before so I'm happy with adding stuff. U r the best when it comes to henna videos xoxo
-video waaaay too short but thanks love! We miss you but know you have a family. My hair has grown thicker from following your advice with henna. I use the NUPUR brand.
I am loving ur videography! ...and ur hair looking amazing. I'm glad u found hennasooq near me in MD. I've ordered from Khadija, shes great..and get in on their Specials or Sales .. her stuff's BAQ good stuff just wish I could spend more on it but ur suggestions are fantastic and on point (cause we can't all do the everything recipes- I tried, and almost went broke..LOL!)
Lol!! Henna Head... I have been using Henna in my Hair Oil, your recipe. Oh my goodness. My hair looks so Healthy. My hair is shedding because I’m Transitioning, but the new growth is strong. Thank for your recipes.
I've started doing henna masks as well. My hair felt so amazing after the first time I tried it. Since I do a henna mask every other week (I was and deep condition may hair every week) I made a henna infused oil and am starting to use that as well. I ordered some aloe vera powder last week and it should be here on Tuesday 😊. Thank you for all your help and insight ❤.
Love 💕 this vid. Just did my aloe vera/w a drop of rosemary oil. I’m corn 🌽 rowing because I have an event tomorrow and I like the volume corn rowing gives my hair. I use Henna every week. But I also do a hot oil treatment once a month, that stopped the breakage/dryness . I also use henna to cover my gray strands. Luckily the red tint it gives my hair compliments my skin tone. Also have to say once again the NattyNaturals leave in conditioner has made a noticeable difference in my hair care progress. Thanks Curly. Have a great week‼️
Thank you so much for this valuable content. I appreciate the in depth research and results! I'm just beginning my hair growth journey and your videos are extremely helpful!❤❤
I really appreciate all of the info that you give my hair loves henna and aloe vera mask I use it every week every other month thank you again for introducing me to these fabulous Ayurvedic herbs for hair growth😍😍😍😍
I love Henna too!!! It has been a staple in my regimen for a while. Adding Aloe Vera and slippery elm has been a game changer for me. May try Ashwaganda at some point. Thank you for the recipe! Love you, Girl!!! Do you only use 100 gm of Henna?
Thank you helping us with our hair. Henna is very good. Your hair is beautiful. Can you help with a natural shampoo and do you use a moisturising cream in your hair after you wash your hair as a leavein. ?? Or do you just use oils. ?? Thank you please do a video on this please . Thank you.
OMG! I can't wait until I get my ingredients. Your hair is simply Gorgeous! Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge. I'm going to take it and run. I will let you know how it turns out.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi! love your channel very relatable personality- very informative and most certainly appreciate the science. How often would you recommend the Henna Mask? weekly too much?
My beautiful curly thanks for bringing 💕 ❤ 😘 💗 out your henna I'm going to get it you're amazing congratulations on your line 👏 can't wait to try it because in the past I stopped using it my hair got so dry and thrashy it was scary so yes sis I'm on board with anything curly after all you are the reason my hair is doing soo well 😊
Love your hair. Do you shampoo before applying henna? How many applications do you do a yr? If I use henna in a DIY leave in, will it give the same benefits as doing a full henna treatment?
I love this video. Sometimes I love the long videos, but sometimes I want the short ones! You look beautiful as always. U.S sisters have all the luck lol. Henna sooq, Natty Naturals etc. Would love to try them particularly the henna sooq, but those customs and fees are not encouraging AT ALL!! Anyway, thank you for the video. It was useful and beautiful to watch
Thanks for all the amazing info you provide!! I’m late to the party, but I binged quite a few of your vids today. Wondering about the henna tea leave in rinse. Would you recommend that for box braids and people who would only cleanse their hair every 3-4 weeks? Or do you think that would cause too much henna build up? Thanks in advance for your wisdom! Was between cutting my hair off or trying to strengthen and grow it, and I saw all your vids as a sign to at least try and grow this hair.
🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ HennaHead 🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ here. Best thing I’ve used on my hair care EVER. Wish I was aware of how to use and the benefits of it way, way, way back, because I would have NEVER relaxed my hair.
Can you do a daily oil or mixture please because I only use castor oil. I do masks every now and than. Will definitely try the henna and aloe!!! #GrowingHair 😍
I love your video!! I use a similar henna mask. I put fresh aloe Vera in my hair then I Add my gloss. henna with marshmallow root, bhringraj, Amla, fenugreek and ashwagandha. Thanks curly proverbz your awesome
Yes! Love, how long do I keep the henna mask in? I have been doing the gloss for months but I am still experiencing dryness and breakage. I use the Nupur Henna with 9 herbs mixed in because I can't afford all of the herbs you mention individually. What would you suggest? Because henna is so Bae in here.
I leave it in for at least 30 mins with a heat cap on . I did an hour as well and found that to be counteractive and left my hair undefined and dry. Also switched from weekly henna to biweekly to every three weeks. In between I use herbs and cassia as a henna alt.
Ok so you need to leave it for 4 hours before application for the Lawson dye can be released fully. Apply for at least an hour. Some long time users leave for 8 hours. The longer the better. If you experience dryness I would suggest tsp or two of henna and two to three tap of Shea butter plus TSP marshmallow root (optional) ♥️
Henna is life. Add some indigo, if you mind the slight tint. But it is amazing. I have been doing henna glosses every week to get the overlap strengthing, but the mask I am going to try every 6 weeks to be consistant.... And rice H20 is also a good look.
@@flexingingodspeace7774 it gives is a slight red hue, but that is all. If that is an issue, you can use Cassia which is neutral Henna. It works the same, just not as potent. And what you can do, is add Indigo which sticks to the henna, but makes your hair blacker in color. (that I use for a couple grey hairs...lol) but the henna is not too bad. Do a strand test first 😊
I love your videos! I currently use a henna gloss on my hair. Can you do an updated henna gloss video on how to make it and apply it? Do you let the henna 'develop' for a few hours before adding the oils?
I’ve been watching you for quite some. You are very good and professional. The kids are gorgeous. My question is what can I use for gray hair because the henna dark right.
Hello Givenchy. Be very careful using henna with relaxed hair. I would not recommend it without much research and preparation. Relaxed tresses are in a weakened state and the overpowering strength of the henna will break the relaxed hair if not applied properly and appropriate strength.
How often is it safe to Henna relaxed hair? Most chemically relaxed henna users refresh their henna color every 4-6 weeks. Henna can be used in the last week or two leading up to a relaxer, and as soon as a week following the relaxer application. Since henna does coat the hair shaft, it can interfere with typical relaxer straightening for some individuals. Henna on the hair shaft can act as a barrier to the relaxer- similar to a heavy basing. If you are one who prefers bone straight hair, then you'll either need to henna well in advance of your relaxer or wait until just after (growafricanhairlong.blogspot.com/2012/04/is-henna-safe-for-coloring-chemically.html?m=1).
Ashwagandha! Great adaptogen inside the body as a tea! At least for me...I'll be jealous of my hair using it in a hair mask. Ha, ha. Will try it tho' as I have been doing glosses semi-regularly. Haven't been able to over last couple of months as my home recovers from a small kitchen fire 😖. Looking forward to trying this. Peace and blessings!
Hi Curly P, super awesome video as always. Quick question when I use henna my hair tends to beva bit dry any tips to combat the dryness. Thanks for sharing as always.😊😘💖💖
@@pineapplecrushme3216 youre very welcome - i would just recommend that when you use the liquid or gel - to stick with the organic aloe like the Lily of the Dessert brand's dietary formula. I'd stay clear of the articifially colored (green) gel often sold for the skin.
Yes Mama you can. I've been following Mrs Proverbs for years now and I mix my henna powder with aloe vera juice to be more specific the fruit of the Earth Brand from Walmart which is 99.8 pure aloe
@@restorationglam799 yes, Fruit of the Earth (I couldn't think of the name when I posted my last reply abt Lily of the Desert) is another good aloe brand.
Hello curly, I stumbled across one of your videos from 2 years ago. And I am saying this in the kindest possible way because you are one of the best at helping others with natural hair care from nourishing your hair not coating it. And, you are a great help. Your hair 2 years ago looks better than now. It was super defined and silky looking. Almost like a 3b more than a 3c or combo of both. Better put closer to your daughter's hair but thicker. Not that hair grade counts. But products can sometimes affect our hair adversely. Now it looks like a thick long mass of sometimes frizzy looking hair. You may be doing too much. I know you do a lot to keep bringing us these videos. And new content sometimes isn't easy. So you try a bunch of new things. Look at your hair growth oil video from 2 years ago. This comment is for you to take a look at what I noticed. Not to dog you. It just looked different. I follow your channel and it surprised me by what I saw. Just making you aware. Your first hair oil mix super defined your hair.
Hi curly proverb, I'm Beatrice. I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and I appreciate them. My question is are their different qualities in the henna and other herbs when purchasing for hair. You know as different products become popular for our hair other companies want to jump aboard and try to indulge in the the dollar driven business from us. This is why I appreciate you speaking on different products you use. Now my concern is the purchasing of quality herbs to use in my hair for growth and thickness.
Do you still use Indigo powder with your henna sometimes or do you typically use the mixture in this video? Also wasn't there a henna mixture you did a while back where you put some MSM in there as well? I tried to find that video but could not. :-(
Def want to try but doesn't want it to dry my hair. I am a beginner, so when I make the mask do you recommend these exact measurements? Your hair is beautiful!
Henna turns my hair a burnt orange color. How can I prevent that? Your hair is so beautiful and healthy. Looking forward to seeing your response or anyone else who reads this and can offer me some insight. Thanks for sharing.🙏🏾😊🙏🏾
Oh My Goodness! Yesterday, I thought to myself the next time I do a Henna treatment I will add Aloe Vera powder and Ashwagandha. This morning, after watching your Henna hair growth mask update - I said out loud, "great minds almost think a like" since slippery elm didn't occur to me. Thank you so much for your channel and for taking the time to share your knowledge; in my heart, you are my daughter from a distance. Much love!
How long do you keep the mask on your hair?? Did I miss that part? How often do you do this treatment? Also, is there anything we can do to avoid the red color?? I'd love dark hair but not red - surprised more people aren't asking about this
