My wife just won me one of these guns at a gun bash! I'm eager to shoot it and to eventually mount a little scope on it. I think the scope really adds to its already very cool look and character. Thanks for showing us how to do this and what we need to get the job done.
I done this some 17 yrs ago! It was a beauty! Golden boy 22 mag and Malcolm 3X scope! Tack driver at DISTANCE!! But due to an economic downturn had to part with it😢..hope whoever ended up with it appreciates what they have!😢😢
Sorry to hear you had to sell due to finances. Im facing something similar with my Golden Boy these days as well. Hard to part with it. $500 - $600 isnt much these days but can be enough to make a difference
The Rings Hi-Lux if your watching are indeed extremely way to high and need to be much lower this should be an option because who really feels like attaching a cheek rise. I realize your trying to stay nostalgic with this set up but low med and high would fit the bill for all.
We do! We call it the "Malcolm Optics Marlin '94/'95 Mounting Kit", but it can also fit the Henry Big Boy. If you want to double check - do you have a dovetail on the barrel (back near the receiver) and two holes drilled atop the receiver?
Unfortunately, we're out of the no-machining kits for the Henry Big Boy. Should have them back soon. The blocks can still go right on the barrel with a bit of drilling and tapping, though!
If you can drill and tap, you could put some holes in the base to match the holes in a rail. Alternatively, you could drill through a picatinny bar to match the 4 holes already on the base. I haven't put a picatinny on it personally, but it certainly looks like it would work
That's one of my favorite cartridges with these scopes. I've taken a High Wall in .45-70 out to 600 yards with this setup. I think I fired 65 rounds in a single day (maybe 60?), and probably 500+ total since I've installed the scope on the rifle. Still works great.
I'd have to check the measurements, but unfortunately I don't have one of those models in the office. If you've got one in hand, give me a call and we'll figure it out!
