Yes, it was a great movie, but the evident fact that you enjoyed it so much surely means that you have suspect morals. And you can't use the excuse that it's just a made up story like John Wick or the Rambo franchise where the killing of people is like that of a comic book. This movie was more or less true to what actually happened, and the people in it were completely despicable. I bet you wished you could be a gangster like Jimmy Conway or Tommy DeVito killing innocent people without an ounce of compunction and stealing and robbing money and cheating on you wife and having average people showing you deference at a the local bakery purely out of fear. PEOPLE like you are unfortunately the massive majority of human beings, shallow, selfish, and basically immoral. The only reason why you are not a gangster is because you are a coward and fear the consequences.
The fact that Paulie slept with his wife and Tommy tried to force himself onto her shows how little Hill was respected!! Regardless of the fact he was only associate, nobody (even made guy) would have dared go near Jimmy Burkes wife!
Wow Hill was much lucid and well spoken when younger. The excessive drinking took a huge toll on his mental faculties. Later in life he was a totally incoherent mess.
It was a big practice to patronize mainly the joints and bars of other maid members and associates.. if the drinks weren't paid for the money was made in other ways. The money was fungible
"There were no role models in my neighborhood but these guys" Bull. There were likely role models all around him. The people that got up every day and went to work to earn their living with honest money. Those people could've been his role models but they didn't live the fast life or earn the quick dollars, so they didn't appeal to him. He took the easy route. He can't blame his neighborhood for that.
You don’t understand Henry probably thought he couldn’t handle that think abt it he had all these mental problems I mean so think abt if you suck in school and at home you getting the shit beat out of you and gangsters are patting you on the back your drifting towards them too
Both great movies but neither are comparable because Mario Puzo created romantic figures like he once said but the other is the exact opposite not romantic at all because they were scummy criminals
I remember when him & his' pal absolutely BURIED Jim Carrey, said that he had 0 talent & was the worse actor EVER & Ace PD was the worst movie EVER made. Only to apologize like 8 years later after seeing the Truman Show. Fugazi, total Fugazi, this Siskel.
Henry was not respected as much has he liked to think. His own People tried to sleep with his wife. I dont think that is respecting your Leader. But thats just my opinion. He was just a normal cronies working the streets. He was no Boss. Henry likes to think he was a lot more powerful than he actually was in real Life. Henry was just a no body
May have been based on facts but was was mainly bullshit. Henry Hill was a drug riddled idiot knock around guy. Liotta was the best thing that ever happened to Henry Hill. The movie was bullshit
