After a full year of hard work converting a van into a full time home with her dad, Becca finally spends a night in the van.
She gives you a mini van tour, gets everything ready for an overnight stay in the van, cooks a delicious chicken & chorizo risotto, and brings her Maine Coon cat, Savannah along for the ride.

@@myvanworldYour van build is awesome. I’ve seen many American vans much bigger than yours and the people who owned them didn’t organise their space as well as you have. Some of them didn’t even have bathrooms/showers and made the excuse of there not being ‘enough space’ but you’ve proven that there is more than enough space for all the essentials and that it doesn’t matter how big your van is it matters what you do with the space you have. Great build, I look forward the the rest of the videos. Just a quick FYI the arm and leg of the table should slide into the bracket thats attached to the actual table top to keep it all together when its in storage. Hope that makes sense and is helpful. Joe

I would definitely put some blackout material on the window side of the curtains. Not only will it stop the sun waking you up at 4am in Scotland in the summer, it will also stop anyone on the outside seeing that you have the lights on inside the van at night.

@@myvanworld Have your skylights got black out blinds as well? Ours haven't but I made made one for overvthe bead but the one in the kitchen still lets in light. This will be solved in the next few days as a low branch damaged that skylight so I've bought a new Fiamma vent which has an optional extra of a pull out blind. The dogs might now sleep in when we go to Scotland in May/June next year.💤💤

Looking so good, you and dad have worked hard but it's paid off, well done, your sliding door dead bolt needs changing, in an emergency if you need to get out last thing you need is to stand there unscrewing a bolt, maybe an offset sliding bolt attached to the door part may work. How's the lotus blossom drawing going or you not tried yet? Enjoy your night out camping.

I've heard that cats like to own their space and familiar smells helps. I highly recommend you bring in some of her and your things(toys, bed, clothes, etc.) I also recommend that some gently used litter be transported to the new litter box area. Sounds gross I know, but she'll associate all the smell as yep that's me so this must be my space.

It’s been lovely following your journey from your first video and we even bought the electric bikes after your episode. Hope you carry on with your adventures! We have a Ragdoll who comes with us everywhere in our van and he has a harness for going out and a tracker collar so would recommend if you haven’t already. In fact we pick up a new Ragdoll kitten next week who will also be coming with us !

I'm sure your mum is on to this but just wondering if she'll add thermal blackout fabric to the lovely curtain? I've found it so valuable in preventing fading, heat loss and being woken at the crack of dawn!

To put your mind at ease, I have a tortoiseshell Persian called Lily and she was a bit hesitant in my previous van but then spent lots of time in there with me. My new van is almost finished and I am sure she will love it too.... eventually 😄😸

Can you help - my mrs wants to know where the fabric warehouse you and mum used was. She needs fabiric to reupholster six dining chairs. Its not mentioned in the notes to that episode. Guess you will be on the road soon just in time for the spring. Enjoy

Yes. It’s Murton Fabrics on the outskirts of York. If your wife goes back to Episode 28 - how vibrant can a van conversion be? 8:10 time stamp. I film inside the fabric shop so she can get an idea for size & what’s in there. Hope that helps!

Where is the temp sensor for the Truma system? If it’s set to 17 and is too hot? I’ve just got a new to me 2021 caravan that has the same Combi system, and it’s quite a change from my old 20 yrs old Truma system.

It’s in the middle of the van. I was just rushing around doing lots (so was hot anyway) & it was a super cold day so felt really warm inside.
