Well basically, the point is to break the bad habbits and replace them over time with good habits, but that transformation can only be sustained if you are kind towards yourself just like you would be kind towards your child + the known nutritional elements of a diet (eat less carbs, move more, sleep better, hydrate). So, if you have a bad day and you broke the diet, do not take it as a failure and do not bash yourself about you being a failure. Instead, tell what you would tell to a sibling if they broke their diet, which is 'It is ok, you needed this break so that from tomorrow you can continue with the diet without craving the pizza. You had the pizza today.' Or, if you fail to go to the gym, do not tell yourself tht you are a failure. Instead, promise to yourself that you will go to the gym and keep the promise, just like you would have kept it if you gave it to someone else. So, promise to yourself tha you will show up at the gym as if you were promissing to your best friend that you will show up for a coffee. And do all this with patience and progression. The promise to go to the gym should not feel that you will show up tomorrow, or otherwise you fail the promise. Instead, give yourself time to check the gyms, to decide what you like to do there, to get the sportswear, etc. So, bottom line: Be patient with your progress, even if that entails having a pizza or skipping the gym, as long as you go back to the new healthy habbit soon after. Having the pizza and skipping the gym is not a failure, but a step towards the progress. If you see it that way, then you will manage to stay on the right path for a long time. And you will see your 'perceived failures' as successes only when you treat yourself (with words, thoughts and food) just like you would treat those that you care for. We tend to be less tolerant towards ourselfs than we are towards others. Break that pattern and you'll do good. There is more to it, but I think this are kind of the crucial basic points of understanding, or should I say ''the scope of art' of her program. Cheers!

Wow.... I am a ‘grazer’ - always have been. I finally realized I did not need to eat a whole meal with everybody - the eating sporadically & being able to accept that as my eating pattern, I felt better. When I was young I was reprimanded for doing it....😒

Yes I’d rather keep my insulin down and eat healthy but less. The more you know how fasting works the less you want to eat.

I think food addiction is harder to overcome when you grow up extremely poor. I spent most of my childhood not being able to eat what other kids did, things I wanted to eat. We didn't have much food in the house that didn't require to be cooked...no snacks. Our favorite 'poor' meals were pinto beans with cornbread and fried potatoes. For poor people, food is one of the few comforts and pleasures and it's the fear of missing out. I'm wealthy now as an adult and still can't shake the poverty mindset.

That's true. I'm addicted to kids snacks as an adult. Our dad raised us on poverty meals from the great depression. Pretty much carrots, potatoes and celery mashed together over pork chops. Now I eat twinkies and cookie dough for dinner. Corn dogs for breakfast. Kract mac for lunch. Therapist calls them "safety" foods lol. Had one therapist call me autistic, but no, its poverty trauma and food addiction.

The food you craved as kids were not healthy lol. What your parents feed you all were healthy that today tge so called organic food that's expensive. I didnt grow up eating chocolate and ice cream or corned beef. Meat once a week or twice. We eat mostly vegetables and fish, beans, chicken from or backyrd, rice, eggs, sweet potato. Turned those food were all organic. Teeth all healthy and all intact. No sugar. We drink lots of chocolatee drink in morning that my mother made from pure cocoa seeds rooted and grind.

One of the problem is having "a relationship with food". That is causing problems mentally. Just get the mindset that it's fuel, not a friend... not a lover... not an ennemy. Just fuel. No attachement, no problem.

worked for me. I lost 65 lbs from last jan 2019, changed my mindset regarding food and eating, did everything else the same, my workouts etc, weight came off fast and easy, no more mentally struggling. all these years I had resisted my own body and what it naturally does, I ate with fear, fear of getting fat, I saw food as the enemy.

@@sonyahandyfreedom True. Plus, he is not trying to show off but he is genuinely interested in the topics which his hosts cover. This quality happens when you really like what you are doing. He takes his job as it was a classroom, where he is the student and his host is the lecturer. In such a setting, the student would not show off but ask a genuine question that requires clarification on the issue. He is one of the few hosts in today's media who does this thing with the correct mindset.

Ive been a journalist myself,(Im Norwegian, and my Mother language is Norwegian, so dont mind my poor English🤭😆) and my main goal was to make The person in front of me to talk a lot. The more they talk, the more I could write. If they went a step beside the answer, I just added a question in my notes to fit their topic on the paper later, if they talked too long time with no pause and a bit off topic😁 The reader would never know I never asked that question, as long as the answer was so exciting and a perfect fit to my question . All the things I quoted I was so stright to myself that It was only their own words. That is what made them love the articles. My interest in peoples life & story was my passion. One need to have that genuine drive to make them open up.

Indeed, people tend to open up when they can feel that the listener, i.e. the question asker, really cares to hear their stories. Humans are naturally story tellers. It is no wonder that all religions are based on books written in the format of a story telling. However, people stopped caring for the stories of the others. I, myself, stopped answering the questions 'How are you?', up unless it comes from someone whom I can feel cares to listen. So, thank you for caring about the story of the persons you interview. oprah had interviewed a refugee who walked for 4 days with no food or water to seek asylum. he said, "when i first heard the word 'diet', i couldnt even begin to fathom what that word meant---to have an abundance of food, when we were so used to starving??" that's when i realized how much i was taking food for granted, and how much i was mindlessly eating. it totally changed my paradigm with food.

I’ve struggled with a eating disorder for a long time. What has brought me back to a normal place I hadn’t felt in a long time was just letting go completely. That was probably the hardest thing to do because I spent most of my life, dieting exercising and obsessing over perfection. I didn’t know anything else. If I messed up I’d go on a binge and that feeling of waking up with impending doom was terrible. The guilt from messing up made me feel like I was doomed to how I looked or felt about myself forever. It was equivalent to being locked in a basement, almost escaping after years of being held captive and getting caught right when you were so close to breaking free. But I had to let go completely of thinking about dieting,rules, guilt or anything. I told myself all these were triggers keeping me in the eating disorder cycle. I had to allow myself to just live for awhile.like a child who didn’t think about any of that stuff. This had brought me back to just eating when hungry. Letting go allowed the obsession to fall away and instead of focusing on dieting, I just told myself to do easy workouts daily like walking if possible but okay if I didn’t. Simply, if I did not walk or exercise that day it was because it wasn’t meant to be. It wasn’t in God’s plan that day. It took awhile but eventually If I even tried to or considered going back to a diet, that feeling of doom and imprisonment, I’d feel creep back in. I was more aware now how damaging a diet was to my mental health so I just eat healthy choices with no restrictions. If I want something sweet I don’t tell myself no. You’d be surprised when you give yourself restrictions, you eat more than what you intended to you and if you have no restrictions you eat less. When I have no restrictions, I forget to eat a lot of times… but if I give myself restrictions, I’m thinking about food all the time and eventually I break and binge. That’s why I felt like letting go completely has helped more than trying to manage the obsession. What she describes in this video and what I’m describing is a eating disorder and people aren’t just born with eating disorders. They are learned through conditioning of feeling bad about your body, dieting and exercising in order to look like something else. The world conditions people to feel like they’re not good enough, unless they look like a certain way. And then men are conditioned to think that women are supposed to look a certain way too, so then they treat women who look like women like they are disgusting if they don’t look like a slim 15 year old girl. It’s toxic. You have to shut out the opinions of society and the people around you and discover your own meaning and image of beauty. Having a baby actually helped me discover this because after having a child, I realized how beautiful of a miracle I just took part in, and then when I would look at my body, instead of thinking I was gross ,I looked at that as if wow! I have a body of a mother, a goddess. That is super beautiful. I mean, can you really think about anything more beautiful than seeing a body that just created life? Stretch marks and a mom porch represents that, so why is it ugly? it’s not!

So thankful I found this. I think I teared up 3 or 4 times because it's exactly what I went through. Lost like 14 kilos on a keto Intermittent fasting diet(which works yes) but went through such a stressful period in my life I turned to binge eating& bulimia, and the cycle of that is just horrendous, gained some weight back and now have had to redefine everything, first being my mental condition and looking at what now works . Really treating yourself kindly and loving yourself is everything.

You think to much...listen...just eat whatever you want once per day...weight will fall off and stay off...make hunger your lover...if I'm not hungry I'm not happy..why?..because hunger lets me know I'm getting ripped...I've walked the beach with a beer gut and I've walked it ripped...big difference...good luck

It's unfortunate butcher box isn't kind though. Selling hacked up animal body parts from animals that had a life of slavery. They had their lives taken from them against their will. Find it ironic the good intents of the show/intro and then followed by a company of extreme cruelty to animals. Whole plant foods will cause great loss, just saying without the cruelty.

Try fasting for 24 hours. It'll help reset your metabolic response to sugar and insulin. Also, be kind to yourself. Learn to change the way you think about sugar. Sugar in excess isn't good but every now and then again is ok. It doesn't make you a bad person for liking sugar. Ex: add some brown sugar to a bowl of rolled oats, fresh fruit, chia seeds, raison, etc. That little bit of sugar won't kill you

Strangely, I come to this channel to unwind. It's quiet meditative, the manner with which he interviews, and the structure of the the interview - a well told story every time which is very satisfying and not very common anywhere else anymore. My mind relaxes, but then naturally tunes in, I sip my tea and make some notes. And I always walk away with something directly and easily applicable to my life the same day. Thank you!

I love this! You have to change your head...I lost 160 pounds in a stupid weight loss contest at work; I was hoping to win the money so that I could buffet hop in Vegas...But a weird thing happened; I lost weight and in focusing on the money I changed my HABIT of eating the way I did. I even changed my profession so that I could help others. It has been off for over 9 years, and I have to work on my HEAD every day, then everything else falls into place. Love this lady!

Every time I watch that show ‘my 600 pound life’ I always just cringe because he does have to get to the nitty gritty as their lives are in jeopardy and they can’t mess around but those people basically have to figure out the hardest part of the piece that got them there to begin with and it’s the thinking part of it- they rarely address that in that show- it’s painful to watch

I really enjoyed this video. Liz explained the importance of staying hydrated and moving around throughout the day. What I found most valuable was that she explained "habits" doing something 3-5 times for it to become a habit and being aware that changing something that is comfortable to you can come with emotions. Thank you for another great episode.

This episode made me realize something about my morning schedule. I have been resistant to the alarm clock across the room idea because I would honestly just get up and turn the last clock off, then hop back in bed. Yes, I would do that. But I realized my electric piano keyboard is in my room corner and I haven't practiced on it in months. I got a battery powered cordless alarm clock to be trendy and free up a wall outlet a couple months ago for Christmas. I JUST realized I can literally put it anywhere I want, not just the nightstand. I every now and then dream about music and songs before walking up, so if I put the alarm clock near my keyboard I will have something fun to do that's creative to easily wake me up instead of jumping back into bed. So it's killing 2 birds with one stone. I can finally get like 5-10 minutes of piano practice in the morning, just as a way to wake up and I might give myself a chance to get into music again!

There is no secret methods... Losing weight isn't as complicated as anyone believes. Your body literally burns roughly 2,000 calories a day. You gain weight when you intake more calories than your body burns. You lose weight when you intake less calories. You can make your body burn more calories a day by working out and still eat realativly unhealthy. Or you can intake less calories and not work out aka a diet. You can also lose weight even faster by combining the two (diet and exercise). I am currently getting some diet help from Next level diet which guided me to reduce my food intake gradually. People don't literally gain 100 pounds in a day and I also won't lose 100 pounds in a day. It's something that happens overtime and can be frustrating but is achievable.

It's fascinating I agree . Intellectually it seems so easy but being emotional creatures comfort eating has made it so difficult for me . I have had a love/hate relationship with food That's why I feel journalling ,eft tapping ,singing & talking is so powerful. So many people eat/swallow their shame&emotions . To express oneself in a healthy way instead of "stuffing" our emotions or numbing ourselves . Food can become a drug or companion. It's wonderful to finally shift to idea that food is not the enemy but it's essential nourishment &fuel . 🙏🦋🕊️

I can tell you one thing, it doesnt come out of any feeling. Most of them want to lose weight but the current standars of the so-called diets put them in eating food that isn't suited for them. Well you might tell that "Well look at those atheletes they are on those diets and they are lean strong and fast !", yes, that's true but why the obese people can't achieve the same with the same diet ? Because it doesn't f*king suit them. It's simple as that, most dietitian doesnt even bother to personalize the diets for their customers, they just put them into a random diet and " see how it goes". So what did I do ? I said f*k off to all those experts, read a shitload of books about nutrition, hormones and how to balance those and lost 70 freaking pounds in 7 months. Haven't been hungry even one day, always feel energetic and I've actually start to see my abs slowly showing off ( and on the dietitian doctor foods[ I tried their diets over 4 times before I've started to do my own shit] I've been craving food even more on a daily basis until I've mentally brokedown several times) And believe me I was that desperate mofo who was fighting to lose weight. And it only went up after all those diets. Even though initially I've been losing weight which kept me mentally motivated, most of the time I was on a brink of a mental breakdown. When I started to ignore all the doctors and do on my own I've already hit 300lbs on the scale.I am 228 lbs now and still losing roughly 0,5-1 lbs per week while my muscles are getting bigger. Can't do anything because they don't have the necessity to lose weight ? They are fully aware that they need to lose the damn weight and they want to but: A) They need support of the closest people to them but instead most of them do everything to actually keep feeding those people and make them gain more weight B) Learn about dieting, activities, hormones and how to balance them by yourself. Doctors are not meant to cure you, doctors are meant to maintain your state at best unless you are not able to work, then they will get you back to a state that you can work for the country. Sorry this is just a reality. Once you have found your own way of losing weight ( and no, it's not that hard at all once you get into it) then you will lose weight super easy. I've seen (including myself) countless of people who want to lose weight, they paid hundreds of $ to the doctors to help them lose weight but the after effect was always the same -> Food craving, mental breakdown and giving up because of being unable to keep the unfitting diet for yourself. And to all of them it happened countless of time. 97% of obese people who lost more than 50 lbs of weight get back to their weight in a year, why ? Because the diet they were on was impossible to maintain ! If dietitians actually worked on balancing the hormones more instead of writing off stupid "healthy" foods this number would go down to maybe 10-20% and I can guarantee that. But the truth I am telling here still won't be passed and only few will actually help others to get back to a good and happy life. This part makes me sad :/

Recently started eating more plant based meals and walking everyday and it is changing my life I feel so Good. I had to clean and chop up my veggies ahead of time so I can just grab and cook and that little change has helped me tremendously. I also love that fact that I can fill up on veggies and not feel like crap afterwards

Bear in mind that when you are a guest in someone’s home, eating and openly enjoying what is presented by the host is a gift to that person. You deal with your own diet issues in private. I follow a keto eating strategy, acknowledged kindly by my family, but I eat whatever is served (in moderation) and I never turn down a small slice of birthday cake - ever. I adjust my eating strategy later to accommodate these sugar/carb foods. Also, after a full year of slowly and successfully cutting sugar from my diet, I am no longer tempted by the candy and other yummy treats in checkout aisles. It’s really quite magical. No cravings at all. Ditto for bakery dept in grocery stores. New habits have snuffed out previous habits.

What about checking the hormones of your customers ? I know it's a big hustle for some but did you ever do that ? For me it was a game changer in losing weight to be honest when I got to know that I've actually had a diabetic state. By no means I am aware everyone is different, but once I found that just swapping all the carbs into fats and protein dealt with that problem in over 5 months and now I am a fully healthy person enjoying some carbs here and there as well while still losing weight and gaining muscle :)

Losing weight and keeping it off is a seven step process which will work for most people: 1. Avoid fructose consumption. 2. Avoid vegetable oil consumption. 3. Avoid processed food consumption. 4. Lower carbohydrate consumption. 5. Eat only real food like meat and vegetables. 6. Raise your vitamin D levels with sunshine, supplements or both. 7. Toss in some exercise if you feel like it. This was incredible! She talks about literally all of the things that I came to on my own (focusing on changing habits, tiny daily changes, morning ritual, hydration, sleep, etc.). Her philosophy intersects really well with Alex Heyne's Master the Day. This totally hit home for me! I have finally realized that I don’t have to stick to anybody’s program! I am a Nursing Supervisor working night shift, mom to a 6 year old and 2 year old, my life is busy and I can only commit to so much of my time to my fitness and nutrition goals. This is genius!!! I loved the part where she said that we keep breaking promises to ourselves. It brought to mind that little girl inside myself, just knowing that that promise was never going to be kept. We have to feel that child and hug her and say, “I’ll walk through fire for you ! I’ll be here when I say I’ll be here”. Every time I make a promise to myself from now, I’m going to keep that little girl in mind to remind myself that I’m promising her.

When I first started quitting sugar in general, back in 2005, I put it in my head that sweets were poison. I'd use that word in conversation with people and ingrained it in my active trains of thought. It worked. I am not tempted by donuts, or cake or candy.

I know i am probably way behind on the times but I have to say I really love your guests. Most especially (thus far) Liz. Interestingly I havent finished this video but have started Keto at 2 meals a day intermittant fasting and have noticed I can go easily on 1 meal a day. I thought I was just awesome; but in conjunction with one meal a day is a constant struggle to avoid the stress, anxiety and literal panic attack each time I pass a convenience store or drive thru even when I am in no way hungry. I came from a very abusive and neglected background when growing up my good day was a meal at some point in time. We had a cleaning business since I was 4 yrs old and our whole family worked at night from about 6pm til 3 or 4 am. That did not negate going to school which we did not miss because being home meant punishment. Either way I might have managed a partial meal at some point even if it was a handful of m&ms or something someone left on their desk in the form of candy. Occassionally my mother might cook, but mostly it was fending for myself. I do notice and now I believe the panic is that I fear if I dont grab food NOW as i pass by the drive in I might never eat. I struggle with this anxiety every day but do not give in. How do I break that? I see its a permanent pathway-but have no idea what to do from there. I have lost 18 lbs in 6 weeks on Keto and really enjoy adding insights to my journey. Thanks for your varied guests. Keep it up!!

Leia Coleman I grew up with little to no food as well. I understand where your coming from. While I don’t eat much I always have plenty for my family. It’s a difficult thing for others to understand but it is survival regardless of the need. I’m learning to be aware and repose this my body for bringing food to my attention in its plenty, but also teaching my habit brain that I don’t need it now but will remember this in the event I ever do. It acknowledges my body’s protection as a positive thing but also is teaching it/me that I don’t need to have it 24/7. We feel safe with food stashes and we don’t question it but we can and should perhaps. Bring the little child thinking into our today thinking and knowing we can get food whenever we are hungry.

Start using Dr Joe Dispenza meditation of breaking the habit of being yourself. Listen to his lectures and use the long form of that meditation. It's all on RU-vid for free. He teaches you how to identify the belief and present it into the quantum field so it can be reconfigured and the energy is liberated and comes back to you in a way that that is useful to your personal energy field. I love this woman, how she thinks, and her dedication to understand and share her knowledge on this subject. Theres so much more to the subject of dieting and weight loss, and I love how deep she delves into the whole subject. This is stuff most people never think about and I can see how its key to being successful with weight loss/maintenance.

Thank you to Liz for being so honest and candid about her own experiences and struggles because most people don't want to admit them, let alone talk about them. You can tell that she still struggles with her triggers but at the same time, this is a way that everyone should be dealing with them, by recognizing them, being conscious of them, and controlling it, but not in such a rigid fashion that makes it difficult for one's self, creating a sense of shame and guilt on those "bad days".. We all need to enjoy life too..! right..? Just be conscious, try to eat intuitively, try to ADD more healthy foods instead of taking away bad foods because that creates a sense of deprivation. Make a plan, revise your plan, and add to it so it seems easy.. Plan for different scenarios, like holidays and special occasions, vacations and get togethers.. For me, it's about snacking. And I can't just "snack" 100 calories and call that a snack.. My snacks can get out of control.. haha. Not about fast food, alcohol or whatever..

These are amazing tips. Thanks, Liz and Tom. I do love tracking my food, though. I'm working with a dietitian who has personalized a plan for me. BUT, the biggest win so far, aside from the weight loss? Going out for meals once a week, or once a fortnight, where I may overeat, but then I get back on track the next day! This has never happened to me before, because I practised the "all or nothing" mentality. I would overeat, when I was celebrating (or, at night, which was my "danger" time), and think, "Oh, I blew it!" And, I would keep going. Now, I plan ahead. I cook batches of meat and vegetables, and have reasonably-sized portions of healthy food. And, I eat a healthy, whole-grain, fruit, and yogurt breakfast, or if I'm not hungry yet, I'll eat it for lunch. I have never felt better in my life, and I'm almost 52 - the post-menopausal years, the time when weight is supposedly hard to lose. I'm debunking that myth!

Glamnificent x Well I gained whilst working a 12 hour job and was living in a hotel. So I would leave the house at 8am and return at 8pm, with no kitchen, exhausted and in a bad mood and would get a takeaway and go to bed.

You know this is so true about "why we overeat"... There was a moment in my life where I was doing Healthy Eating everyday until I said I'll have a takeaway just for tonight, then after that I stopped eating Healthy and gave in, I thought I slipped and had a Takeaway so might as well just give up and went back to eating complete junk again. Another one was I meal prepped healthy food for work everyday until one day at work someone dropped my box at work out the fridge and it cracked so I had no dinner as it was damaged and split, I went to buy something unhealhy that day and then never looked back and gave up on meal prepping... ugh it's hard.

I really like the point, dieting is not changing our bodies but our mind. Another point is that I really have to focus the language I speak to myself. I tend to be a perfectionist but now I learn that being able to take baby steps or small steps is more important. I think this idea doesn't apply only for dieting but also for my other habits and goals. Thank you very much for this amazing ideas!❣️❣️

I changed to a keto diet and this struggle ended. I don't have limits, habits or issues with food now that I'm sugar-free and low carb 20%. High fat is my answer. satisfaction is key.

The feeling of comfort from food is temporary and short, necessitating more comfort eating. The feelings that come from losing weight, achieving and maintaining optimum weight, are better than mere comfort. It affects all states positively: physical, hormonal, emotional, mental, psychological, which ultimately eliminates the need to feel comforted.(Re)educate yourself on science of diet, knowledge is motivating, and should resolve you to break your addiction to carbs and the Standard American Diet. I'm speaking from experience, and continuing to learn, hence videos like this.

Greg Martin I am looking into keto diet right now. Going to try it. Cause for the pass 15 years of low fat didn’t really help that much. After reading all the articles, I need to rethink about food and what I should eat. My whole family has this eating and opening the refrigerator habits. From my mother side of the family. I am trying to change that. Change takes time. I am not going to stress about it. I am healthy and 😊

@@KangScopeacupunctureandwellnes Yes, arguably the low fat (high carb) diet we've been told to follow (food pyramid) is a huge disservice to us all. If you don't end up doing full keto, (it has its challenges) simply making the single change of restricting all processed foods (especially sugar) and eating only whole foods/grains, and healthy fats (no vegetable oils) you should have good, healthy success. This is what I aim to do when I get off of keto, eventually. Good health to you!

Get a puzzle aparm app, look for heavy sleeper on Google play. It ll force you to do math in your head and it has a wakeup alert feature. If you struggle with it, the only way to shut off the alarm is to wake up

1.guilt and shame ( guilt and shame from overeating a little) will make you eat more; habit- 3 distinct things happen- there's a trigger that kicks the habit off, then the habit gives you some kind of reward. repeat good habits 3-5 times and they can come habits 2. REFUSE EXCUSES - 50% of what we do in a day is habit; 80% of our thoughts , we've had before and a lot of it is negative. Learn stress relief . she was a sneak eater, ( were you eat when no one can see you).Eradicate this. Don't put yourself down in your mind or outlaid verbally. Clean your environment ( clear out the unhealthy food) . Behave differently. You feel more capable then, because you are capable of keeping it out of the house. Believe in yourself.Her identity was she was a " yoyo dieter". Journal , talking to friends you've known a long time, mediate. Your identity is not something negative. 3. BUILD CREDIBILITY WITH YOURSELF: when we see food, smell it or talk about it, we can eat more food. Just because you see a candy bar and are salivating, doesn't mean you have to eat it. Control the urges. Exercise helps you to push through the urge to quit. Exercise your mind too- love yourself. Don't break promises ro yourself and then you don't trust and love yourself. Establish integrity with yourself. Once you can look in the mirror and say " I do what I do for myself for me". Break your goals into manageable chunks so you can keep the promise. 4.WHAT TO EAT: We basically eat the same thing over and over gain. Eat healthy food you like. She can have wine, but she has to have a glass of seltzer in between, now it's a habit for her. If eating pizza, have a salad first. Words are critical. Don't talk negative about yourself like "I'm a failure" or " how could you do that?" we have to learn to walk. Words are critical. You get a powerful hit to serotonin when you eat. Say " I love me" . Progress then. No one size fits all approach. 5. 6 PILLARS: reduce carbohydrates ( 100 g per day). Healthy fat, protein and lots of vegetables. She recommends 100 oz. of water a day Most people are critically dehydrated. ( personally , I can't drink that much, but I'm just writing what she said). don't mistake thirst for hunger 2nd PILLAR. movement- walking, doing dishes, laundry, gardening- add 100 minutes of movements a week. 5- 20 minute walks with friends. Get a headset and pace during phone calls so you're moving, not moving gives restricted blood flow . 3rd PILLAR. 100 minutes of exercise ( movement and exercise are different)- like 3 - 35 minute sessions a week. press further when it becomes your habit. 4th PILLAR 100 MINUTES a week of stress relief - reading knitting , massage etc. quell the stress response. learn to do stress relief because we will be driven to high fat, high salt foods because they release serotonin and get stress down. 5th PILLAR- sleep - this is when we detox and restore and get ready and renew. If you miss sleep, you will be hungrier. If you miss sleep, there will be a 30% gap between ghrelin and leptin. Ghrelin tells you to go eat, leptin tells you to stop.Ghrelin wins when you haven't had enough sleep. sorry, I messed up and only got 5, but maybe the healthy eating thing at the beginning are #1 and #2 instead of being together. 6. WILL TECHNOLOGY SAVE US -- phone can trigger new habits. Track your steps, 3000-5000 a day is too low. she says " aim for 10,000, secretly she'd love 12,000", we are meant to move. If the work train, is half a mile, why drive the car there? track your sleep is fascinating. little things get in the way- don't get on phone right before bed , wrapped up from social media, fear that someone is getting ahead of you at work- stressed out and then you can't fall asleep or the quality of sleep is bad. Look at nighttime and morning time habits.Leave the phone downstairs at 10 and then go upstairs. Moving the phone can impact the way you eat the next day. Track your heart rate. Shape a Scale- has no numbers, they can throw people off, you are given a color and a gradation to let you know if you're moving in the right direction. Yes!!! I have been talking about how the mindset, social stigmas, are the real root cause of addictions/unhealthy consumption behaviors. Recently reached my goal weight for the first time in 30 years, after twice gaining over 120 pounds of excess fat and losing it. Mindset is everything. Love Yourself First!
