FLYTJANDI: Hera Björk LAG: Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir, Michael Burek, Jaro Omar og Ferras Alqaisi TEXTI:: Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir, Michael Burek, Jaro Omar og Ferras Alqaisi
@@user-fm2el3qy3m how? the other song isn't that good anyways i prefer scared of heights both are mid but hera being and old entry and being iconic in the eurovision fanbase gives her a decent chance over a new artists with a similarly mid song
@@lucas_8358 People tend to vote based on the song, not the language. 2021 is a great example when 4 songs in top 5 weren't English and still got amazing results. This year we have a lot of songs in native languages, so it's a perfect time for her to shine with Icelandic. In my opinion, the English version sounds a bit generic, so I'm afraid her song would get lost among all the others.
I really want a mixed language version. One full verse in English, one in Icelandic and the chorus mixed something like this: Við förum hærra Been here before and never got it right Við förum hærra But falling in love has got me scared of heights Ég leyfi mér að falla, læt mig falla But what if we forget how to fly Við förum hærra But falling in love has got me scared of heights
I ❤ Hera Björk!. She has a great and powerful voice! I wish Hera all the best of luck, she is a very nice singer and I am very happy that she has represented Iceland again. Thank you Icelanders for giving her the victory 🏆 and allowing all of Europe to enjoy Hera's presence, voice and music!! From Spain 🇪🇸🇪🇺 We love ♥️ Hera!
Hera is a Eurovision veteran and must have a fair idea that the chances of this qualifying are slim. So I would say it is 50:50 she goes at all. But congratulations on the success.
It would not surprise me. Otherwise I think Iceland might not send anyone - or Bashar. If Hera goes to pre-parties, people will want to hear Je Ne Sais Quoi - and not this song. That's a problem of returning with a less good song.
@@johnoflaherty9105also the fact that they haven't released the yt short of Hera, but automatically released Teya Dora's within the hour. they might be planning something (speculatively)
@@bloubear2557they made songvakeppnin separate from Eurovision this year due to possible protest/withdraw, so she’s going to Eurovision but it isn’t confirmed immediately like it has been previously.
Guys, relax. Hera is a Eurovision legend so I am pretty sure she knows what to do next… I believe she will release a brand new revamp version. She is a vocal powerhouse and she never disappoints. Good luck Iceland ❤❤❤
@@edouardesc No, actually. They have chance to revamp the song until stage performance, just like Dutch entry last year, studio and stage version was in completely different pitch in their case. Or dance-break edit in Armenia. So I believe she can improve this until May.
@@sahinme_well not really, they have to decide about these changes until 11 march, the only thing they can do after that is appeal to the ebu to change the lyrics, no change in anything else except for the pitch(if they cant sing) is up to the artist
I'll be honest, I was not expecting this result, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Hera really did deliver the vocal performance of the night and I'm excited to see this seasoned performer in Malmö! It doesn't hurt that this song is really catchy. Besides, if my favorite Sigga Ózk couldn't win, then I'm very happy with Hera.
@@trantonit2682 but why did they like it better than ALL other options? I think that's the question. Like, seems very unlikely but that's just me and it was chosen so - obviously a lot of Icelandic people liked this best? 😭 (Edit: is the official term "Icelander"?)
Poland is guaranteed too for me ngl, it doesnt go anywhere and falls flat + its in one of the strongest halfs there ever was at Eurovision, the 1st half in the 1st semifinal is absolutely stacked. It will be forgotten in between songs like Ukraine, Croatia, Serbia, Cyprus etc
@@leiva3364everything will depend on live performance. Luna said on interviews there will be some revamp in eurovision on the bridge and that it will sound much better on the stage. Also we have huge diaspora so for me we are almost sure qualifiers
Some Icelanders here say they are disturbed by the mixing of politics into the contest. Remember 2019: It was Icelandic singers who raised the Palestinian flag in Israel.
While I wanted Sigga Ózk to win, I'm more than happy with Hera Björk as the winner. I'm sure she'll do a great job in Malmö, she's a seasoned performer and what a bop of a song! ❤
I am surprised by this song because the title would have spoken of angst but this relates to finding unexpected love if she follows her fans request for this to be sung in her native language it could still go far either way it will certainly grow on me
@@Ivan-oc5ov which one? I definitely prefer Hera's entry over Bashar's but yeah, I don't see it qualifing either, but i'm still happy with that choice, Hera was my fav! She would even have some chances with the Icelandic version
The question now is: Will Iceland withdraw voluntarily if Israel joins? For months Icelanders had been talking about protesting the contest. I think the Icelandic people who did not elect Murad should withdraw from the competition to protest Israel. This way, Hera won't be upset by making it to the semi-finals.
I think she already confirmed that she's planning on going. If she backtracked now, it wouldn't go over well with the people who voted for her. I kinda think she might've made it because apart from Bashar, she was the only one who outright said that she will go.
@@Idk-qs4nrnope...it was purely because he's palestinian. We had the most favorable odds (No.1) before the song itself was released but it had been leaked in the press that Bashar would participate. In my opinion, the song is nothing special and it only stood out because the rest were very pop/dancy. Don't get me wrong, I didn't like Hera's song (or performance) either...sooo I guess I'm just a hater this year 😅
@@Idk-qs4nr no the song is generic and would probably struggle to qualify if anyone else who's not palestinian would sing it, no matter how much better would that other singer perform the song
I remember Hera as she also represented Iceland in 2010 , she is looking so good after 14 years. This entry is OK, hopefully in the final she will maximise on her full vocals. Also she was a backing singer for Iceland in 2009.
Everyone is putting this song down. Me included but I've been listening to her again and she is not that bad, in fact I'm starting to like the song. I've even moved her up a few places in my top list.
The song was better sung in Icelandic. What the heck Scandinavians shift their productions into English? Do this people hated their origin and their languages that much?
There was a riddicoulos article ones in a swedish newspaper Aftonbladet or Expressen- where they meant that only exreme nationalistic countries suung in their native language..
@@anderslundgren7762 you meant "extreme"? It is a shame thou. If I have to learn English I'd rather learn it from countries like Australia or UK. In the meantime I also loved to listen to Scandinavian languages through their arts but they tend to shift us away from learning their culture
