Sweet Jesus, you have Derek on guitar, Oteil on bass, Vinnie on drums, Kofi on organ, Herbie on Piano, and all the other talent, but Susan’s Voice is so powerful she just Crushes this song, what a gem she is indeed..
This is about as good as music gets right here. Wow, it's amazing when talented players push each other to higher levels and to see the finished product. It's impossible to single out just one performance in this. Herbie Hancock is pure genius, as is whoever suggested Derek and company play with him on this. Good call!!
A beautiful, one of the best, "hippie song", with a genuine 'root love message for Humanity'. Makes me remember and celebrate the memory of the greats Joe Cocker and Leon Russel (R.I.P. both), and, why not, all the "Mad Dogs and Englishmen". A memorable rock show/record/movie!
I actually saw Derek smile twice and even laugh at the end. Unusual as he's so stoic as a rule. It don't matter as there isn't a better player lout there today.
After years of loving this, I thought "let's find out what key it's in, maybe I can jam along on my piano..." What do you know, the darn thing's in C! Haha!
My heart is broken.. Sail on, my beautiful brother Kofi. May your journey be peaceful, with every question answered. All love, brother. G’nite, Kofi. 😢💔
@@annalisa14 Kofi Burbridge is the other pianist in this video and the long time member of the TT family. He died two years ago. May his memory be a blessing.
As another commenter said, I spent the entire song smiling. Loved the interplay between Derek and Herbie. Piano and Guitar. It doesn't get much better. Susan did a wonderful job on the vocals as well.
I remember many moons ago in the Paradise in Boston thinking " This is the last time she plays a place this small " She was way too big to be in that small room . Boy I was correct
Man 9 years ago they all look so much younger, life is way to short.makes you wish you really could go back and relive days like this.all you can really do is watch it again.
What is special in this video, is that Susan succeded in convincing her twin sister, who also has a wonderful voice, but prefers to keep a low profile and stay out of the public view, to come and help out with the backing vocals! 😏
Derk trucks thank you. Every time I decide to stop playing guitar a week goes by and I realize my mistake as I tune in to youtube's guitar videos. This week I stumbled on another trucks vid.
