Seems like the property manager helped them price their rental when it was not doing well. They may be expensive but it sounds like they were worth it.

Isn't the whole "thing" about Airbnb is ditching unnecessary expenses/fees (ei having a property manager) and becoming your own property manager? Im confused as to why this is a thing.

It's awesome that people are making a profit. Here's the thing though- in smaller more rural areas. We live 2 hours north of NYC. 6 years ago, you could find a reasonably priced place to rent with little to no issue. Now, when I try to find something in my stepdaughters school district- nothing, zero. BUT! There are 575 Airbnb's for people who don't live locally, who don't attend the schools, churches and contribute locally all year. May all the Airbnb hosts be blessed, and I truly mean that, but it's at a cost.

For STR that's not high, that's normal. The PM is doing a hell of a lot of work handling quest turnover. The fact that she is getting 65% for doing nothing at all but let the Prop Manager work is the fucked part.

@@austinduke8876 As a PM for high end listing, managing them is not easy. Thats why we PM got paid a lot for that. And also a investors, time to get more deal is worth a lot more than trying to manage the property with much lower success than hiring a real PM.

It’s enough to help pay your mortgage and more. If that’s not sufficient then idk what to tell you. It’s like saying you shouldn’t rent your house out because what if the ac goes out? We’ll if the ac goes out it doesn’t matter who live there, it’s going out, second the airbnb money would pay for a new ac and more.
