Manifesto war has erupted when Modi and other BJP leaders started making allegations against the Congress’ manifesto. Modi has alleged that Congress’ manifesto promises a ‘wealth survey’ where, if voted to power would do a nationwide survey of public’s private property, gold, then would redistribute it among ‘selected people’. Rahul Gandhi today made it clear that they never said that action would be taken. He clarified that he just wanted to find out the amount of injustice the country is facing. Rahul Gandhi also made it clear that Congress party will do ‘caste census’ if voted to power.
However, Rahul Gandhi on April 7, had said that if voted to power, then they would conduct a financial and institutional survey to ascertain distribution of wealth among people. Rahul Gandhi, while talking about redistribution, said that he would ‘return only a small amount of money to the 90% people from Rs 16 lakh crore that Modi gave to selected 22 people’.
