You are my best teacher so far I have found, your calmness and great patient efforts so much get my attention and without any confusing. Glad I had found you as my instructor.
Just in case you need them, I've produced a couple of other videos on this song in the last couple years filling in gaps in my teaching on this video. Search my channel to find them if you need them. Thanks.
Congrats Quail Studios! This guitar lesson has been selected by our curators and listed on our website as the Best Guitar Tutorial for this song/level. Thank you for your hard work and expertise!
Outstanding video !! I have watched many videos on this song, but yours is no doubt the best ! Thank you for taking the time to really explain and break down the parts of this song.
YOU, Sir, are an excellent guitarist & instru tor. I've been playing for a long time but never had the patience to learn this song. However, it's an absolute pleasure to be taught by you. Thank you!
Really great tutorial, beautifully played and well explained. The simpler version is far less intimidating than the finger pick style but it provides a perfect lead into the full version. Bravo.
Great lesson. Looks very complicated but you demystify it so clearly it makes me think even I can do it. Well maybe in a few years but at least now I 4hink it's possible. Lots of aha moments when I think so that's how you do it.
Love this song and how george Morrison play his guitar just the same like yours😄 i will trying hard until i can play it. Thank you in advance to share this lesson.
+Quail Studios Tutorials thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind if you elaborated on when to use the dsus2 chord. I think you unintentionally use it at 7:20 and throughout the bridge, also at 1:00 when you are talking about the song structure. It seems like an easy thing I could do to spice up this easy version. Maybe a revised chord chart? Again thank you very much for the video.
+stuart hagerman Hi Stewart, this version of Here Comes The Sun is the easy version. In the harder version we talk about the Dsus2 in detail. I'm reviewing the other videos that I have on this song now to see if they are ready. I'm so glad that you made this comment because the harder version is in process but it needs some work before public release. I'm going to push Here Comes The Sun to the top of the list because it's long overdue, Make sure you are subscribed to get the notices when we release new videos. Before videos are made public I'll post them here: www.patreon.com/quail_studios?ty=p I also post on Twitter and Facebook when new videos come out so you have lots of options. Hal
Hello Aussie Cue, I do my best, thanks. Love this comment from you. It means a lot to me. I'm glad to know that I'm making a difference out there in the cyber world. Glad you are here with me. :)
Great video. Thorough tutorial, well explained and presented in a manner that is easier to follow than from others. Combination of close ups and tabs make this easier to understand. This guy goes beyond the usual.
Thank you Bill for your kind comment and support. I have stopped putting tabs on the screen lately. I can make videos faster that way. Now I put them in my book. You can see the links to get it in the description... just in case you are interested. This is not required. :) Hal
I'm learning this now and want to say thanks for such a brilliant tutorial. Having the chords shown on screen is really helpful. It's sounds wonderful. 🎶
Man oh my can this guy teach. I really loved that tab for the fig 1 and that made it so easy. I find it difficult to follow certain licks that sound tricky if just shown without tab. Best video on here on this song and this is a text book perfect teacher. Thanks for posting it.
how many times have we heard people say something like - "The Beatles weren't that great - most of their songs only used the same 2 or three basic chords". There is so much more complexity to Beatles music than many people know. Making great music is much more than merely repeating basic chords. It is rhythms and timing and phrasing and well...it ain't as simple and easy as it might seem. Great tutorial video! I hit the like button and will be sharing - also put it in my "watch later" list so I can come back to it as much as I like and need.
Hello! Thank you for being here. I agree with you. The Beatles were amazing. There is so much more we can do with Beatles songs! Also, not that I want you to go away from my channel, but check out Mike's video about the 35 greatest techniques of the Beatles - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gjqUUafzBg4.html Talk about complexity! Mike from the Art-Of-Guitar pointed out some points that I was not aware of. I think you will enjoy listening to him. Hope to see you around some more. Take care, Hal
Thank you for your excellent lesson on how to play this iconic song. Just love this song and after weeks of practice it’s coming together. Many thanks. 🎸
Im a begginer (or the 3chord strummer) and this is the best here comes the sum teachin video i found so far. Other vids are well too complicated to me so big thank you! Greetings from slovakia :))
Thank you for this lesson and your sweet voice. It is so uncluttered and I like that there's an option to move down to the A. Greetings from Down Under
Nice lesson. I was checking different takes on this and I’m trying to nail down that A7 transition. Considering that you spent some time explaining fretting a D chord, you glossed over it but again, you did a nice job. I was also looking to simplify for vocals and in particular, what I could strum rather than pick after the chorus. Another spot was the bridge. I was thinking of it in triplets and your counting helped me refine that.
Hi Joe, thank you for this comment. Have you seen the other lesson that I did on this same song? It's a little different but I dove a little deeper into how to play it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4JUdaXIwtag.html
I saw some young kid spend twice as long to get through just the beginning D cord arrangement and I would've gotten nowhere if I hadn't picked it up watching this video about 3 times while rewinding it for a half an hour each time just letting my mind absorb it. This song seems so easy for a song that's sounded so amazing my whole life listening to music. But I guess if you consider who wrote it why I'm even surprised I don't know. I guess when you learn with rock classics seem like something you never consider learning w/o endless nights of sore fingers. I've played more rock and roll growing up until a spinal cord injury slowed my left side down bad to almost a complete stop. I basically dodged being a quadriplegic but since my spinal cord wasn't severed with many years of therapy I picked up the guitar again and started to play sons from start to finish again and I swear the depression was gone in a few months. My girlfriend who got me through my accident loves this song and I told myself I'm going to learn this for her (thinking it was so going to be rough on me with crazy finger positioning that would seem like learning to speak a foreign language) but when I saw how "intricately easy lol" if that's even a correctly spelled/worded oxymoron lol but you explained it and it not being "foreign chords lol" she couldn't believe one night when I started picking/strumming away at it. I didn't have it down but she knew I was well within the ballpark where I was going to get it. I'll have to listen to him playing it then it'll wrap up those few picking patterns 100% But man you deserve all the credit in your way of teaching. Thank You you did a great job making a classic seem as easy as smoke on the water lol. That's a little bar chord humor. Hey I have PTSD so anytime I can laugh is a good thing! I have to see what other master pieces I can learn from you. Maybe Homeward Bound by Simon & Garfunkel? That ones for me! It seems like it's kind of like this done using a capo high up the neck. It's not so easy trying to catch him in videos here and there at full speed. It probably would've helped if I had learned to read sheet music first but hey I'm getting there and Bravo ☝☝☝to you!!! I can puck, strum and play leads pretty well and on time again especially since never learning to actually read music it's all by ear. Ear, mind to hand coordination seems natural. But I just let songs like this intimidate me I guess. But not anymore! This made 2019 no BS. Again Thank You
I love this video! It really helped me a lot with this song. Your instructions are very simple and you are always straight to the point so thank you. I am a beginner and I really want to challenge myself with this song. But yeah thanks again you really helped me 😊. Ps you play guitar very beautifully and I love your singing you almost sound exactly like George harrison himself
Thank you, Ava, for watching, the input, comments, etc. This song is a great one for beginners because you can simplify it if you have trouble with a certain part and then upgrade your playing later as you become a better player. I have just completed a newer version of this song. If you would like to see it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4JUdaXIwtag.html In fact, I haven't even made it public yet as of this moment. Thank you so much for connecting. :)
