Here's Big Bear, A Community In The California Mountains 

Wow! California has some amazing mountain communities.
For this video, I drove along Highway 18, also known as Big Bear Blvd. The route took me from the outskirts of Big Bear, past Big Bear Lake, and then into Big Bear Village. It was a spectacular fall day without a cloud in sight, where the temperature was 68 degrees. The day was Friday, October 30, 2020 at 1 pm.
At the beginning of the drive, we’ll be passing through the Main drag as they call it in Big Bear - where most of the community finds its shopping and entertainment. Then we’ll pass the lake, and then at the end of the drive is the charming Big Bear Village. The entire length of the trip is just over 6 miles.
Big Bear City is a town in the San Bernardino National Forest. There are just over 12,000 people here. The city lies on the banks of Big Bear Lake, a snow fed reservoir that’s about 3,000 acres big. This whole region at the top of the mountain range used to be Native Americans and grizzly bears up until around 1850 when explorers found a little bit of gold in the region. It’s grown slowly ever since.
Big Bear is a year round destination for a lot of people from Southern California. There’s skiing and snow tubing, boating, hiking, biking, fishing, off roading, shopping and fresh air.
