I love FJ! So underrated, I have flown the whole long haul fleet now and I love them so much, such a warm and welcoming feeling and amazing crew, even in Economy it’s great! ❤
This was really funny at 14:36! 🤣 Not the end of the world, but the FC seemed to diss you with the food service on this trip. Very disappointing for such a regular traveler as you. I loved your jinbei in the hotel. That beef, rice lunch looked sooooo good on your city vlog! I love the places you visited this time in Tokyo, I'm with 6'4" on his favorite neighborhoods there (except Shinjuku was one of my favs too but so is all of Tokyo)!
Wow … you were a lifesaver here Jayden by helping the crew find someone who could communicate with the ill passenger. 🙌 Great point about going to the passengers who missed out on their earlier meal preference at the start of the second service. This can also be done by reversing the service (ie starting service from the back) for the second meal. This is what the did on my Qantas flight from Seoul. Very jealous of your Japan visit! I want to go back. 😍

Great video Jayden and a very insightful vlog, I love you give the names of the places you see and eat at! Interesting they installed that seat only a decade ago, and Fiji airways fares from Australia to the US are definitely very competitive, however that seat on the a330 looked like some of the best premium economy seats when upright, interesting Fiji airways flies the a350 on short routes to Sydney when they can fly it to Tokyo!

Same Weber seats used on SQ A330s...and yes, I agree with you - they should've put Collins Diamond, Super Diamond, Safran Cirrus, or any other reverse herringbone like you mentioned. I wonder where their A350s would usually fly...

What they serve up in Melbourne as a business class lounge when you’re paying for a business class ticket is appalling The Fiji lounge his paradise in comparison

Hi Jayden, thanks for this video, been waiting for it !!! The Fiji lounge may not be as fancy as some, but it is new, fresh and the food is always good. Lucky you never saw the old lounge, it was awful lol. We stay at the Royal Park hotel at HND within terminal 3. So convenient if you have a morning flight out and I do recommend it. It is also easy to access the transport to Tokyo CBD. Have you been up the Skytower? I near wet my pants when we were up the top ring 🤣🤣🤣
Yep the lounge wasn’t The Wing First but it sure does the job haha. I tried going up the Skytower when it opened in 2013 (I think?) Tickets sold out💀 Never gone since haha
If it is a clear day it is definitely worth doing. There were no queues when we went. The view from the top platform was stunning. I was amazed just how close Mt Fuji is to Tokyo.
Another great trip report and vlog JW! The quality of food on FJ looked quite good, especially two full meals, shame you missed out on your choice every time! There's nothing like true love when your partner/husband hand feeds you! 🤣 I just read that Qantas will no longer serve a second meal on flight times of 10 or less hours! I thought they were trying to improve their offering! Hope the passenger on your flight is OK. Love Tokyo, we stayed at Hilton Shinjuku and went to the same observation desk. Did you try a ramen dish at Tokyo station? They call one the hallways downstairs there "ramen alley!" Keep up the great work buddy!!
I saw that post about Qantas! 99% just that the guy missed his meal🤣 Qantas only recently re-introduced two full meals on 8-9 hours flights, before than it was a full meal plus a hot refreshment. Nope didn’t try Ramen Alley! I’ll give it a go next time! Thanks James :)

Nice review Jayden and these seats are the same ones as SQ A330-300 before their retirement. FYI they're going from Oneworld connect to a full Oneworld Alliance member. 2-2-2 business class seats were the norm 10-20 years ago for a B777/747 these were 2-3-2. I'm wondering what is the flight after this one
@JaydenWong when that happens just ask them to credit this flight to your Oneworld Alliance FFQ. That way it should work same thing is said for your Mum have this FJ flight go to her Asia miles Diamond status.
Fiji business class doesn't impress me at all, nontouch screen, narrow seats and not 100% flat bed. Food offer is average in term of business class. Interesting, I think this is the first time I hear 6foot4 speaking...😅
Bula! It is indeed disappointing to learn of how UNPOLISHED their services were. The cream-white seats look sleek but would get dirty easily I think. 2-2-2 is really an unacceptable config for medium to long-haul flights. Now that FJ will become a full member of OW, I hope they will up their games.
Hi Jayden THANK you for the video. I really like the plane with its older style t.v. I really hate when they run out of food. I once was coming back from Thailand and by the time they got to me on a dinner service they had run out of food. I can tell you I wasn't happy. Anyway enjoy Tokyo.

Definitely follow the day light. If it’s dark outside, try to sleep (with eye masks and earplugs). If it’s bright outside, force yourself to stay awake and open the window blinds (people hate it but it’s your window and they should wear eye masks if they want to sleep haha). Same deal when you arrive at your destination, don’t sleep until night time even if you’re tired (a nap is ok but make sure you do wake up in time before it becomes a 10+ hr sleep haha)

Yes, Char Siew is always pork... Unless you're in a halal dim sum restaurant in Malaysia or Singapore! Hahaha... It screws with my head. But it works with chicken! I wonder if FJ had to serve their high status flyers first that's why you did not get your meal choice?
It was giving bacon but beef 🤣🤣🤣 Right!! It happened to me every single time I flew FJ J class, not a good record to have definitely. They don’t look after the FF like QF and CX do. Wasn’t happy with my flight in 2022 because of the meal selection (I think only one left?!) and they kept forgetting drinks. This time service amazing but still running out of options haha

I am sure the new aircraft have the lie flat product. They will probably update this one soon as it costs a lot of money to change them. Shame about the options on the food not being plentiful enough for you to get your required meals. Did you pre-order the vegetarian option. If not it will be hit and miss. Great vlog though.
