I don't think scooter's Dad made the video with this intention, but it sure is a great romance-magnet...! You could easily see what a great baby-dad he will make as well.
Loves makes life worth living. Two years ago, I was given 6 months to a year, but thanks to the love I am getting from my 2 felines I am still there,. I don't know how long II have left but every day I spent with my 2 companions is filled with pure joy and happiness. They feel my pain when the going get tough, and they come around to comfort me.
Hi Piertenence, what you said is so true. I have two dogs and they bring me so much joy that I cannot imagine my life without them. Your pets truly enrich your lives. I am glad that you have your two cats to take care of your and bring your so much comfort. Never give up my friend and God is always with you! Love Caroline.
My Aunt told a friend she would cat sit her cat while she went on a vacation . My Uncle threw a fit! “No! I hate cats!” My Aunt said “Yes!” Well, she went to the store and when she came back my Uncle was lying on the couch with the cat sleeping on his chest. He said “I believe I like cats after all!” They ended up getting two cats for themselves.
@Mister Kat pitbulls are the sweetest things. People think theyre all agressive until they meet one and theyre truly one of the calmest, gentlest loving dog breeds out there.
@@IrishAnnie My husband was a dog only person when we met. He had a Rottie and Small Beagle. After they passed we had moved and a roommate brought a kitten, the roommate was never around and the cat was always meowing for attention, so my husband would grab it and it would curl up on his lap when he played video games or watched TV.. A few weeks later, our roommate brought 2 more kittens from the same litter home and my husband fell in love with one of them.. Now that we have had our cat for 10 years, he never wants to go back to having dogs.. lol..
I won’t lie , I’ve watched this so many times ,& each time it’s made me a little teary. How on earth can we be so destructive and selfish , yet be so kind and forgiving . How can we wage war on each other & allow greed to rule out lives , yet give our last penny to someone in distress and spend sleepless lights with a disabled cat It’s such a unimaginable paradox that allows me to have faith in our survival as a species . I only hope that we stop viewing everything on earth as simply a way to make money ,& more of a chance to learn and grow . Scooter is the chance we all pass by in our daily lives . It’s the opportunity we all have to improve someone else’s life , whether an animal , a child or an adult . Unless we begin to be less selfish , there will be so little to celebrate in life . Embrace the chance to do good for everyone and everything , & reject the selfish option of the self obsessed world we seem to be living in .
I too have a disabled cat, Yuki. She’s deaf, everyone thinks a disabled pet is “oh my god how wonderful of you, no one else would do this” when it’s literally a few days worth of research to make sure you give proper care for whatever disability your pet may have, no bravery involved only love, the love of animals
This is so true. Her person created an environment too that accommodates her disability. If only society as a whole did that for humans that are differently abled too 💕
Don't worry about how long Scooter will live. We all wish that our beloved pets could live forever. Some of us get decades, some of us get a few years, some of us get a few months. No matter how long she lives, that love was worth giving, and her love worth having. What a privilege it is to love and earn the love of an animal. You saved Scooter--a lot of vets would have recommended having her put down with her condition and what is required with her care. Even if she winds up having a shorter lifespan than a cat without a disability, you have given her far more of a life than many others would have been willing to take on. Many blessings upon you and Scooter. :)
Getting the love you give tenfold back is exactly how to describe what it's like to own a cat. People who aren't cat people don't get this because they've never invested in a cat before. No investment, no gain. You earn their love and loyalty - and it means so much more because it IS earned and specially meant for you. ❤️
I know exactly what you mean. I'm laying here with beautiful Bambu tucked under my arm all night. We found her all alone, screaming for help as a tiny kitten on the building site of our new house. Bambu was the first of about nineteen cats/kittens that we care for/ have cared for in the last three years and inadvertently I have become proprietor of a private cat sanctuary. I love them all dearly and they queue up to love me back, never without a furry friend beside me.
Back in the day I had an ex- friend who insisted that any animal she had be 'perfect.' Knowing her she would have had Scooter put down in a heartbeat. Notice I said 'ex-friend.' I've had special needs cats and they were all wonderful to live with. Bless you, sir, for giving Scooter a forever home. I think Scooter can look forward to a long life with you.
you know, if someone says this to a disabled person, they would be considered cruel and evil. seems double standard to me. but I get that you are saying, I thought it was funny too.
@@user-lf4td9xr4v Not really. It depends on the person and their relationship. I have a friend with a physical disability who often has a good laugh about it, and friends and family are also able to discuss and joke about it too in certain situations. So long as you're not laughing *at* them, it can help to make light of all sorts of situations, we all laugh and joke about each other. It's not cruel or evil to joke with friends so long as they're comfortable with it. I have a cognitive impairment and often joke about my memory and inattention, as do my friends and family. I recommend checking out the youtuber Rowdy Burton, he's a great example of someone with a lower disability who takes everything in very good humour.
@@user-lf4td9xr4v it might be cruel if cats could understand English. All they hear is tone, and he didn’t say it in a hurtful type of tone, so no harm no foul. Obviously people have the capacity to understand English so yeah saying that to a person would be pretty messed up. It’s not a double standard if you actually understand the standard you’re talking about (don’t do hurtful things).
The idea that disabled means disposable is a concept we must work hard to get rid of in our society. You are living this message with Scooter. May you have many years together.
Yes, just as «happy» doesn’t mean «without any health issues». You don’t need to be perfectly healthy to lead a good life and animals are great examples, showing us that, it is fantastic seeing their approach to handling living with a disability❗️ They meet. hallenges with no prejudice❣️ E.g. it is great to see what they express when they get a wheelchair; you can see how they seem to think «OMG, what a neat thing, watch me run as fast as a racer car❣️» ☺️🦽🦽🦽 👏👏👏 Best wishes for Scooter and his daddy, may you get many great years together❣️🤗
here here. or is it hear hear? my daughter has a mobility disability. her blood boils about the topic of assisted suicide, in her opinion it is 1 short hop to forced euthanasia aka the worst of naziism.
Le handicap ne veut pas dire jetable du tout ! Le handicap a une limitation de ses possibilités. Et c'est une réalité. Mais personne n'a dit : jetable à part vous !
@@daskritterhaus5491 my mother was completely paralysed, lips collapsed inwards as an example, she was a fervent supporter of assisted death, she was extremely irritated !,that she was treated almost like a naughty little girl ,because she thought she the right to die, when she chose ,not because it pleased anybody else,I agree with her it's nobodies business but mine when I choose to die.
I got a cat with the same disability - somebody shot her in the spine with a BB gun, breaking her spinal cord when she was a few weeks old kittien. She was found by some some woman, who kept her for five years and gave her to the cat shelter. I took her in for a temporary house. She was a very difficult cat - fighsty, very reserved. After a few months she started to open up and when there was time to give her back, I kept her. Now, we are celebrating her 7th anniversary since I took her in. She is 12 years old and very happy. She is the best companion I could have ever asked for. Even when I am down and depressed, I look at her - a disabled cat that is still full of life, energy and happiness despite her condition, and my mood immidiately improves.
Yes he does have a ❤️ of gold..and he is so devoted to her,he helps her to go to the bathroom,he makes it easier for her to get in and out of his bed..that right there is a great example of real 💕..also,that shows what kind of person he is..Scooter is so lucky to have an awesome human 😸
If human would be like you, we would really have a better world. It is touching how much love you give to your cat and she pays you back with faith, trust and love. My cat owns me too ;-)
Scooter has two of the loveliest homes that she could ever want for. (1) your house with wide, clear rooms, adjusted to help her get around, & (2) your heart, which is clearly a home that's any pet or person would be so lucky to have. Thank you for your inherent kindnes. For being there to soften her life's burden. If she had to leave you tomorrow or in15 yrs, Scooter could only look back & think, 'I only knew love in this life, because of my wonderful dad". Thank you dude, this brought tears to my eyes. I hv 3 rescues & need yr.energy to mk things, sorry, to make their world as wonderful as Scooter's. You two have a fan, (+3) 😻 out here by the beach, (LA). Wishing you all good things - health, peace & happiness.
Real heroes don’t wear capes. This guy is a real hero. Taking care of a seriously handicapped cat, is no mean task for even a cat person, let alone people that - initially - didn’t care much for cats. Respect, Man!!!
I love this story. I admire this guy so much for taking her on. I wouldn’t have thought if she couldn’t eliminate on her own in her own litter box she wouldn’t survive too long knowing how cats are so fastidious about being “clean”. But Scooter is surviving because of the love she is getting. Good luck with her. ❤️
My father in law was the same way. Swore he hated cats. I'm like ok, you don't have to love all cats just tolerate this one. Lol Lol. According to him, i never fed the cat... Because i gave her meow mix and he gave her tuna
@@That.Lady.withtheYarn my dad is the same why with my dog I got a chihuahua mix he said he doesn’t like him but I got pics of him sleeping with my dad and my dad hugging him
I too have been blessed with special needs abandoned cats over the years so I know just what you are talking about, about the incredible value these lives contain. How much they return for whatever you do to help them. Your video is extremely helpful in raising awareness for something I don’t even think most vets appreciate about the value of these precious souls. People with otherwise good intentions need this education from you. I am so glad to see it. And loving scooter from far away. What a lot is spirit! Puts us whiny humans to shame.
This brought me to tears. How did he not realise he was a cat person with a sense of wit like that! Somebody that says 'sit' to a cat, when they're already sitting, and then says 'well done' - that's cat person wittiness. And I can tell - Scooter is a really nice cat. So - this is a lovely story, all round.
Oh I am so thankful for what you’ve done for scooter. Although I can’t even finish the video entirely because it seriously breaks my heart to see such a loving furball purr machine struggling so hard. I know it’s all she knows and I always feel that it’s better to have been born with the disability rather than to lose an ability as you’d never know any different, and wouldn’t know the loss. But God bless you for caring so much for her, and please know that every bit of Love you give her is returned ten fold and will actually prolong the lives of you both. Thank you..🙏
Thank you so much for getting scooter and taking care of her and she really loves you and I just love watching your beautiful cat and I am a cat lady and you and your cats have a blessed life together love Carolyn the cat lady always. 😀💕💕💕🐈🐾🙏🙏
I also find that most people that claim to dislike cats “coincidentally” turn out to be allergic to them, so I think they just convince themselves they don’t like cats.
ikr! i think everyone who thinks they aren’t like the right kind of person for a certain animal should give them a try! like i used to not be a dog person as much as i was a cat person, but then all my friends started getting dogs and i had a cat, so i was getting equal attention from both parties and realized they’re both amazing
That's because cats don't fit the category of submissive pets which stems from humans having the superiority complex and treating animals who don't fit this category as worse. It's kinda like this idiotic and outdated notion of men somehow being "superior" to women because they are physically stronger. What even.
@@foodwithgluten9243 I've actually never really thought about it this way, I have three cats and I absolutely adora them all, even when they're moody lol
And yeah I agree Bhadro, all the cats I've had have been so sweet and loving. I've definitely come to find out over the years that I'm for sure a cat person
it's usually because people don't realize that animals are living beings, I mean people do realize it, but they don't really REALIZE it, if you know what I mean, so they don't treat them with respect, dogs usually don't mind but cats do, that's where that reputation comes from
@@foodwithgluten9243 how did this go from talking abkut cats and how adorable Scooter is, into talking about social discrepancies between men and women? You're in the wrong chat...dont be such a downer on such a light hearted video
That is the great thing about animals , they don't think of themselves as being "disabled" they just accept what is and go on . I have had several disabled pets .
They aren't capable of complex thought, that's why they don't consider themselves disabled. A lack of awareness doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though. They are, by definition, disabled.
When cases like this are posted on social media to be adopted there is often plenty of people ready to take them in if it gets enough exposure . Animal lovers can’t resist the hard luck cases. Gives me hope in humanity.
Wow I literally cried through the video! Such a sweet story! She may not have a long life but it's going to be a whole lot longer with love and affection 🥰❤😻

Your video made me smile tear up and feel warm inside all at the same time. Scooter is an amazing cat and you are both so blessed to have each other. Thank you for taking her in especially not being a cat person, but I think there was a reason you both came into each other's life and it is obvious what that reason was. There's so much love in both of you and you were perfect to give it to each other. Scooter is very lucky to have you and I love that you show so much fun and laughter with her as well. May you both have blessings that never end
The love from a kitty to their human is INCREDIBLE !! My story is my Dachshund, Chelsea. She is "handicapped". Her right front leg doesn't move all the way forward. Her front left moves more, but is not a full extension leg. She walks funny, and people love the way she wobbles back and forth...from right to the left. This last December she had 2 strokes...I thought she might need to be put down. 🙄😢. Now 10 months later, she still fills my life with joy and happiness. And a lot of the time time I think she used those things to get her way more often. I love and adore her. And will be completely heartbroken when her time comes.. Until then, I try to get her the most from life... Go for it...you have given Scooter a life full of love and happiness... Give her a HUGE hug for me!
I'm an animal lover with a certain weakness for cats...THANK YOU FOR BEING AWESOME AND FOR SAVING SCOOTER-She's definitely living her BEST life because of you!!!!!! What type of "human" dislikes this??? Don't bother hitting dislike- if it doesn't interest you- just keep it moving!
Of course Scooter's life is worth living. She doesn't know she's different. She was born this way. This is her "normal". I hope she has a long and happy life with you.
It doesn’t matter how long she lives. It only matters that her life was full of love, joy and a wonderful home!, A quality life no matter the Quantity.
Dear "non-cat" guy...Simply put...I love YOU a n d Scooter...Your kind & gentle spirit lifts me so far up...I hope you have a lot of fun, memory making years together...Bless you both...Hugs from Ohio
Who is complete God? The Holy Bible gives the answer to this question. Let's find out. Iyov 36:5 - Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB) See, El is Kabir, and despiseth, not any; He is Kabir in ko’ach lev (strength of understanding). Translation: Supreme God is Kabir, but despises no one. He is Kabir, and firm in his purpose. In all Bible translations, the word Kabir has been translated as "Mighty" or "Great" whereas Kabir is the original name of Supreme God. Conclusion: This verse of the Bible proves that Kabir is Complete God. The one who worships God Kabir by taking initiation from the complete saint sent by him gets complete salvation. I remember meeting a delusional person named Hannah online who absolutely despised cats and spoke of harming cats if they got into her house or backyard, I convinced her not to do that but she's still so irrational and whenever I ask why, she answers that they're bad and not cute. I thought that maybe she had a traumatic experience but no, in fact, she used to have a house cat when she was 12. After talking to her more, she gave a reasoning that I find very stupid, (copy and pasted from my dms with her, slight corrections in grammar and spelling from me) "My old house cat ran away from home when I was 13, she was a feral cat I got from the streets but I didn't mind her hurting me sometimes, I never really disciplined her but I don't think that was my fault. Thinking she was lost, I told my family to look for her but she was no where to be found. They gave up soon enough but then a week later when I was going home from school, I found her eating a hamster which I mistook for a rat at first, a kid ran up to me wailing and crying, I asked him what happened and he told me my cat took his hamster that he put near my kitty, I looked back to my cat and realized, I stepped on her head and kicked her stomach which made her run away, dropping the hamster, she tried to come back for it but I threw my sandal at her. The boy looked horrified and when his parents got there after hearing him scream loudly, he told them i hurt my own cat and stepped on his hamster, I saw that I did but i didn't mean to. His parents took the boys hamster and buried it, my parents scolded me later on and I hated my cat then, I remember seeing her outside looking in hoping to come back but I won't let her, she embarrassed me and humiliated me." She took in the cat when it was feral and didn't discipline it despite being the owner of the cat and being fully aware it hurt others, after finding out it was gone, she ordered her parents to look instead of doing it herself, the cat went out and got a kid's pet hamster killed due to her negligence. Then she proceeded to blame the cat itself despite it being her responsibility, she also left it outside in the cold night out of pure spite. I later learned that the boy whose hamster got "killed" wasn't actually his hamster, and his hamster was just hiding behind his cabinet, it was apparently really a rat. With that, they found out that the cat was being left out by Hannah and her family so they took the cat in and that's what I've heard from Hannah, she believes she's done nothing wrong and that she never wants to take care of a cat anymore. I'm done talking to her, despite her being almost 15 now and 6 years older than me, she's neglectful and irresponsible, she tends to blame others despite it being clearly her fault, she isn't fit to raise a pet and isn't fit to judge one either.
I have a friend who is a vet tech, and she fosters kittens. She got a litter of 3 kittens, and one had a neurological issue that effected its mobility. She often is called in when there is a kitten or litter with issues. The kitten with the mobility issue was called Scootie because of how he moved around. He gets around better, but has a permanent wobble. He actually got adopted my a friend of hers. She always takes extra work in finding someone she approves of for disabled cats. The woman had a prior cat that had the same movement issue, but had passed away. She is an amazing woman, and has done everything so this little wobbly kitten can have a happy life!
Please tell me more about this wobble !!! I have a cat l believe has this exact diagnoses ! Looks like the pelvis and knees are fixed towards the inside, and hense this unusual gait !! Please let me know where to get the best help, my cat 🐈😺 can use all thee help it can ,!!!!!
With regards to your cat's lifespan: I believe that your cat is likely to live even longer BECAUSE of her condition. This might sound paradoxical but in fact it's not: Since she only uses her front legs, she has to make an extra effort in order to move. This is likely to strengthen her heart muscle. This is what happened to a cat in France and they even talked about her on French television because the cat was about to turn 22 !! Then a vet explained that this was due to the size and strenght of her heart muscle that had improved over time BECAUSE of the fact that she had to use only her front legs. So that's good news for you and your cat I think. May your love last forever 😊😊😊
What a beautiful man you are wherever you are. Thank you for taking care of Scooter and for giving her a good, loving home. I love you and Scooter so much. And I hope you both live long and happy lives.😊🙏💞👨😺💖🍀
We don't kill disabled people, so no other disabled animal should be put down for their disability. From a lifelong cat person who's had many disabled cats. They always have a home with me.
As a main rule, I agree, but every case needs to be evaluated individually. E.g. if they are in severe pain and they can’t treat it with success and the pet does not show a will to live or joy of living, euthanasia may be the right choice. But again, it should be carefully evaluated, it should not be an «easy solution» for difficult cases...
I have a cat with epilepsy and glaucoma in her remaining eye. My whole schedule revolves around taking care of her and has for years. But you know, like he said, anything you do for them is returned tenfold. There is nothing I could do for her that could repay her for everything she has ever given me. Nothing.
Your vid of you and Scooter touched my heart on this frigid afternoon in Illinois. I with you both a very Happy Valentine's Day together and many more to come. :)
We adopted a blind kitten and named him Lucky. A few months later we went on vacation and so he stayed with his vet. The vet's mother wondered if he should be euthanized. Moments later the Lucky caught a bird flying over its head. Not sure of the mom's response but we consider ourselves even more lucky to have him, than he to have us.
Wow, he is only blind. Its not something that deadly. And you as patient mother willing to love and taking care of him. Where is that idea of euthanize come from? 😓
I´m shocked! I´m disable myself and no one ever tell me my life is not worthy. Anyway, this kind of stuff belong to them, not to you. Keep on being safe and sound and that´s your statement how to get in life. Cheers!
