@@Romans_Toupee Kyle has said multiple times that he respects the outlet that TFL has built out and he’s also praised their towing and off road testing numerous times as well.
I've watched some of Kyle's videos before. He knows a lot about EVs but he is very pro EV so I come to TFL as they are more transparent with EV issues.
@@practicalguy973Kyle is a great track driver and got his start in high performance gas cars. What’s great about him is he understands vehicle dynamics.
Interesting point he brought up about snow getting packed into the headlight spot during a storm... Not many people have probably experienced that yet. Makes sense, that is a very small area where all the light comes out of, you'd have to pull over often and clean it off.
That thing with the headlights seems like a real issue. The way they're designed, they would be likely to get blocked by snow very quickly when driving. .
@@1970351C2V They do have the referral codes, and purchases people made through them is how they were able to jump the line, and get their CT quickly. However, I'd say Kyle is a pretty harsh reviewer, including reviewing Tesla vehicles. If there's something he doesn't like, he doesn't seem too hesitant about mentioning it.
Glad to see you guys together. It’s amazing how often one gets stuck on 80 in WY. You get to learn the local roads! Had to go 125 miles up through Casper (through a blizzard) to make my son’s CU graduation a couple of years ago - that was a long night! Finally saw a CT in the flesh here in Park City last week - it’s definitely different. Still deciding what I think of the look. I think the guy by the truck might have been the same Tesla guy who originally threw the metal ball through the “bullet-proof” window. I was slow-rolling by in my Model S and he clearly thought I was going to stop and ask questions, but I was with my wife and decided not to put her (or him) through through any car fanboy crap.
Serendipity or Fate... just goes to prove once again, how we're all more connected than we think. May we all recognize this, when driving out on remote highways, w/family friends & co-workers.
It's crazy that two famous RU-vid dudes just randomly run into each other. I need that sort of luck I can't get Kyle to call me back or text me or accept my friend request and I have all of those vehicles in my garage. R1S, R1T, Cybertruck, Silverado EV 4WT, and a Lightning ⚡. Cool video. I watch all of both of your videos
I’m glad they’re enjoying the truck, it’s a pretty cool toy at the very least. I would like to see a CT in person, I think it’d be wild to see, but I wouldn’t ever buy one 😂
Stop at the next car parts store, and get one of those long handled snow brush things. Headlight problem solved! Get more windshield fluid and blinker fluid too, 🙄🙄. They have plenty.
As far as trailer and EV's go.. unless you can find a pull thru charging station (i have never seen one, but feal they exist).. You would likly have to drop your trailer and re-attach after charging in most cases...
What a horrible design, lets recess the headlights with no heat to melt the snow and Ice and make it unsafe to drive. All LED headlights need to have something similar to a rear window defrost system on them so they don't Ice over.
I wonder what Tesla is going to do about the headlights getting covered in snow due to how low and indented they are on the front? That definitely sounds like a safety recall issue that needs to be immediately addressed.
i drive a truck and think its trash and would never drive it. not that i could ever afford it. and even if i could, there are other things i would spend that money on. i drive an 02 silverado and i've done more truck stuff with it than most people do in any truck. most people don't actually do truck stuff in their trucks, they buy a truck because it looks cool and they have the possibility to do truck stuff, but many rarely ever do.
i wish i was part of the car review community i love you guys and you guys seem so cool and down to earth but the people i know in real life are complete assholes
I'm going to say, I don't hate the Cybertruck. I just don't like the nutjobs that think it's better than or going to replace a traditional pickup. I also dislike Elon and how Telsa seems to run on "Promise now, maybe deliver later" Example: shipping it without a functioning locker while bragging about its offroad prowess in the marketing.
tezla, scammers, give me back my money for not delivering the vehicle to me and for scamming me out of the costs of accessories for this scrap metal, I will advertise for you until I get my money back and by the way, this happened in February 2022
Man I've never seen this car in the wild, I knew it was ugly but goodness that thing is an abomination. This makes the old Prius look pretty and at least that car was practical.
@@vxnova1 to my wife who cares very little about cars and trucks, they all look the same yes. To an enthusiast, there are many differences between a Rivian R1T, a ford Lightning and a Chevy Silverado EV but I understand what you're saying
120k and can't drive while snowing at night! Tesla cybertruck.....a truck with a curfew........ interesting! I did wonder how that wiper would work going 80mph.... I wonder if that motor will overheat?? time will tell I mean they better get that autopilot feature now... since you have no lights and or maybe wiper to see???
On a few of Kyle's other videos, he said the wiper works fantastic. I don't *think* it should overheat, it's 48V, so it should be running less amperage, which means less heat, and from the engineering videos at the launch it's way overbuilt, so it shouldn't wear out easily I presume. As for lights, although I'm not giving the Cybertruck a pass, that's just kinda normal for a lot of modern LED lights, the R1T/R1S do the same thing in heavy snowfall. You can use LED headlights with an integrated heating element, but it's not great for efficiency on an EV and is $$$ for a housing assembly.
I forgot about the 48v system.... I saw a video where a guy was playing with the powered bed cover showing people and I think he said after 3 or 4 times he got a popup.... cover motor overheated.... so maybe they are using a 12v motor and using a voltage drop??? Still a cool look and concept@@Black-Villain
@@TheMamonti1 I believe that was one of Kyle's recent videos. I would be curious to see someone take one apart and see what they're running. Sandy Munro got one for a teardown a few days ago, so hopefully we'll start seeing some videos soon
well again I forgot about led lights since I never had them but the air flow design traps the snow where most if not all others will blow off.. I assume this....and haven't heard of anyone stopping, going out every 5 minutes to brush snow off their lights?@@Black-Villain
@@TheMamonti1 It depends on the car. Like I said, it's a problem on Rivian R1T/R1S, Bronco, some Hyundai/Kia models, Chevy Bolt, etc. My Jag (which I rebuilt the headlight internals on to update them with projector LEDs) also does it. It's more like... after about 1-2 hours of high speed driving in snow in my case, I usually pull off for gas and give them a wipe. Having the headlights lower affects them worse, which is why it's more noticeable on stuff like the Chevy Bolt or Cybertruck (or my car) versus something like the Bronco where the lights are an extra foot off of the ground and away from spray from cars ahead of you
Cyber Truck is still the ugliest thing on the road for real truck owners. Only people that came to talk to Kyle is a lover of it. I won't come over to look at that junk.
So fun running into you Andre! Let's block some more highways sometime for another video - Definitely some Out of Spec / TFLEV collabs need to happen soon - Kyle
