Good luck. My 92 Silverado V6 5 speed truck. It has 470,000 it’s a 350 now, still run the Tbi. Ran and msd coil. It went bad in a year. Had parts store coils and they last ok. The ignition modules go bad about every two years. No idea why. New distributor, Borg warns modules, other name brand modules. I’ve been told wiring. Yes I use the white heat sink grease when I install the ignition modules, the clear crap they give with them is wrong. And I have looked at the full msd setup if I keep the tbi and if I go carb. But msd makes adapter harnesses so it’s all plug in either way. I have a 7477 Ecm, custom burned chip and larger cop car injectors, on the 9.7:1 350 that’s in there now. I still run the full msd analog 6al, billet distributor and blaster 3 coil on and old carb setup, no issues. But it’s the legit made in the USA stuff, not the street fire made in china parts. Keep us posted if you have any ignition module issues with that awesome tbi 454 dually!!

Man I feel for you the dually is one of your favorite trucks of mine but it seems like you just keep having trouble with it an that ain't any fun it could be cause you take your rigs on such long trips but that's the fun of having them. There’s a reason I don’t have a channel, and also respect the crap out of guys that do. Just working on my truck takes me twice as long as it should and forget about filming that crap, RU-vid don’t want none of that. lol. Keep grinding. I’ll keep watching, but I hate to hear the OBS isn’t a keeper.
Never really saw much change in a built engine from those boxes. Definitely a good idea to get rid of it. Now if you pull the intake off you can get another 100hp. Lol
Understand the struggle. Working on a 1995 Tahoe 4 door in a 1 car garage get asked all the time when is it going to be done. Thought about the RU-vid channel but don’t have time. Keep grinding love the content. Love my obs trucks and hoes. lol.
Yeah, trying the YT thing myself while working a 50-60 hour a week job. It's rough trying to maintain a schedule while also trying to make filler content as I save up for the next thing to go on my project truck (OBS W/T with Ford hubcaps LOL). Anyway, as I'm sure you would love to see Cookie Monster completed, maybe it's just time to send it down the road for someone else to finish him up while you move on to something you really want to do. Just a thought.
Has MSD contacted you about these issues? What is the story behind Cookie Monster and project Playboy.. Where did you come in on this truck? Maybe I missed the episode if you went over this, if so please direct me to the video.
I bought Cookie Monster from Street Trucks when they were done with it and knew I had my work cut out for me but didn't know It was going to be a full frame off restoration. I also haven't spoken with MSD about the issue. In my opinion this box doesn't belong on a stock motor with TBI. We'll find out how it does on our trip to SETN!

The chassis on this truck is great! TinWorks fab frame stiffener, ride tech suspension, disc brakes... it's the body and the wiring that's chopped up on this one.
