Scotty, for my first vehicle, I want a cheap and reliable car. I need a full size ride being a Toyota or Honda. Everything I see on Facebook Marketplace is too expensive for high mileage cars. What's your take?
My dad taught me to drive on an old work car he had for his life insurance route. It was an old Bell South 4 door inline six Maverick. That thing ran for years. The choke didn't work so we had to pump it to get it started. 15 pumps in warm weather and 30 when below freezing. It took a talent to feather the pedal so it wouldn't die the first few minutes. It had drum brakes and when pulling our fishing boat, we sometimes just had to pass the boat ramp entrance because we couldn't stop fast enough and turn around and come back. A few times, when mud was at the bottom of the ramp around the tires, we had to get out and push to get it moving and to pull up the ramp. That car just ran and ran. Like a lot of Ford owners, we wished it would have broken down. We prayed it would stop. We wanted it to bite the bullet so we could buy a nice truck, but it just ran and ran for years. That's the way Ford Motor Company has and always will be. Many want it to go out, but it never will. Good or bad, but Henry and his company is probably the best half assers in the business and improvising for set backs are their specialty. And I'm not or never have been a Ford lover but tell the truth.
@@northdakotaham1752 the EPA doesn't legally have the authority, it's up to congress....Alphabet agencies aren't supposed to make the laws or rules ,it's up to congress, the Supreme Court just ruled on the West Virginia vs the EPA & found that the EPA violated the Constitution
I agree with you about being up front. I never sugar-coated anything. But here are some words of wisdom " Trust will get you killed, love will get you hurt, being real will get you hated." Johnny Cash.
Our 2008 F150 4x4 has 200,000 miles on it. Driven it from Michigan to Arizona in the fall and spring as snowbirds. Only major problems have been front ball joints from Michigan pot holes.
Ok for one thing , we already have self driving trucks on the road making deliveries. 2.7 billion isn’t going to hurt Ford. They are putting 11 billion into one plant in TN. It’s not that big of a deal. They will come back to it later. It took over 20 years just to make the first automatic transmission work right. They will get the self driving cars eventually and it’ll be sooner than you think.
Hey thank you Scotty. Don't tell the people what they want to hear or what the car manufacturers want them to hear. Tell them what they need to know, straight forward. Love it! 💯🎯🚘
Don't forget the issue with Ford's 2.0L Ecoboost engine that leaks coolant into the cylinder heads. Why this hasn't been addressed yet I don't know. They need to recall these vehicles ASAP.
I bought a used 2019 mkz with 23k miles 2 weeks ago and its eating a lot of coolant, What should I do it is already bellow the low line in the reservoir.
@@primabarney2156 that's really low mileage for the coolant leak I'm talking about. From what I've heard, usually the problem develops between 60&100K on the clock. It's possible your car might have a radiator or water pump issue. I would have it checked out by a mechanic. Your also not in the year range for it either.
If you made a similar video in 2018 I would totally agree with you. But since then, I felt Ford has reborn with correct business decisions. Dropping small passenger cars and split the "green" from the major Ford are brilliant. I predict that Ford will stay longer than Tesla.
I used to love ford. Then I had an explorer. Then I found out that after 15 (I think?) years they never fixed the transmission issue knowing they have an issue with them. Haven’t bought a ford since. And omg what you said about flying cars I said the EXACT same thing! They gonna be droppin on houses. People can’t drive in the road I don’t want them in the air!
Ford has proven they can't build an engine. Ford quit being an option for me when the mod motor came out. The f150 proves there is a sucker born every day.
I had a 1989 Pontiac sunbird 2.0 Turbo. Muncie 5 speed. It lit the tires up through 3rd. That's how I always drove it and it didn't blow until 149,750. $1700 to completely rebuild myself. I had the identical 1989 Pontiac sunbird 2.0 non Turbo. It got 9 less MPG. Plug all those numbers into a calculator and I'd say turbos are a pretty good thing
flippin thru fb came across someones post about,PushButton cars, immediately had to come here and tapped th first of your posts that came up just to mention,PushButton transmission cars, our postmaster had one way back in '67 ..
In my mid-'60s my daily driver is a '96 Camry. It has my OSD demand of servicing. Funny is that when I am bagged about my old Camry, sometimes on the next meet I will arrive in my '56 Silver Cloud, I've already discarded them as possible friends, but I love a laugh.

I just rented a GMC terrain for our holiday road trip, and it had some level of self driving. On the highway it’s really nice when you don’t have to even touch the wheel for miles at a time
Nall the self driving feature dangerous because the driver gets super comfortable and loses there awareness to what’s going on. People will be sleep or texting not paying attention. Just give me an old school vehicle that u control
Wow Scotty, you make a lot of sense. Too bad these supposedly highly educated geniuses can't figure these things out. I love watching your videos. I learn a lot. Wish I could get you to work on my car, whenever I will need it .. 😁
I owned an '84 ranger. Loved it. 2.0 w/ 5 on the floor. Only real issue was rust, new exhaust every year. Finally got rid of (what was left) in 2011. Leased an F-150 next. Couldn't wait to get rid of it. The infotainment screen would black out constantly, the environmental controls would always go to low when starting, making the remote start useless, the mirrors were also useless, and the drivers seat would always creep and never stay the same. IN addition, fit and finish problems, difficult to reach temp controls behind gear shifter, and jsut a general lack of attention to details.Bought an 04 Vibe next, good car even as it approaches 200,000 miles. Did a favor for a family member and took over payments for her '21 Ford Ecostar. Same problems as above. I will never, ever own a Ford product again.
Absolutely Dyllan try to twist a christians head back in place is a tough job but it can be done to undue indoctrination first then clean up the brainwashing by the church
The solution for most major city roadways in, rather than adding more lanes to nowhere in and out. Tolls and traffic jams was to have made monorail systems above the road down the center going to side park & ride. Let those trans be the self conductor run. (like some airports.) Self driving vehicles are a dream that can't count for the human factor. People be screwing with them, just get in front of one that the drivers sleeping keep hitting your brakes and slowing. 😆
Turbos cause blowby past the piston rings because theyre pressurizing the combustion chsmbers. So you end up with carbon deposits etc in your oil turning it into liquid sandpaper meaning you need to change your oil more often but the other side of it is that they produce alot more heat because they force your engine to rub lean all the time. Hence the reason for larger radiators intercoolers etc. Thats all added to your engine to help shed heat but even with it all they still run hot as hell.
Thanks for telling it as it is! I agree with you 100% Self driving cars cannot mix with conventional driving cars! It was a stupid idea in the first place. How come I (with no special expertise about cars) knew it wouldn't work while high paid executives didn't?
As long as the Rouge Plant is running, Ford motor will never go out of business! Their management in at Rouge used to always say they were closing the plant, never did!
Here in Europe Ford used to be KING of the small car, lower end market. So instead of launching a model to compete with the Korean/German competition what do they do? Kill their best selling models in Europe, the Fiesta, Focus & Mondeo to make large, electric SUVs & that many Europeans don't want & don't often fit on our narrower roads!
You do realize EVs are older than gas cars, right. EVs were invented around 1832. Gas powered cars were invented in 1886. The reason gas powered cars dominated was do to better ability to travel more miles, ability to handle hills, cheaper fuel in an era where electricity was not easily available, and poor batteries, the early ones of which were not rechargeable. By the way, there are EVs in my area that have operated long enough to have expired warranties that my local car mechanic, who specializes in electrical problems, is preparing to handle.
@Me Me my belief is control over the population. But, I suggest you do your own research and come to your own conclusions. I do appreciate your questions though. We all should be asking questions instead of accepting 100% of what's being dictated to us. Have a good day.
Scotty I thought you said Honda’s 2.4 4cyl engines were reliable. My 13 accord just had a blown head gasket and a bad fuel pump at 100k miles. What gives? Definitely going with a Camry for my next car. I’ve babied this Accord. I’m a big fan. It’s at 100k and I’ve also had to replace the wheel bearings, starter, gas door, and radiator.
@@nathanprice2199 Well you have a good attitude about it. At 30k you basically bought it while it was a baby. I can only imagine that the previous owner(s) abused it. But Hondas can take quite a licking so im quite suprised. Ive seen folks run their Hondas very rough(high rpms in city driving) and reduce the life and reliability of the car considerably. If you have resolved the issues yiu mentioned, then you should easily be able to tack on another 150k or more.
@@XTRABIG I had it looked at by the dealer after it was misdiagnosed by a Firestone. Very disappointed and we’ll see how far we can take it idk with my luck.
My mothers 2016 Lexus nx just had to have an 8500$ engine repair and Lexus is only willing to pay for parts wich is 2500$. The rest is labor on an engine with only 49000 miles. I’m so disgusted. Be careful when purchasing the new Lexus turbo engines which is now most if not all of Lexus. Beware when warranty is up the brand name Lexus doesn’t stand for reliability and durability anymore
In 1898 there were ONLY 4 cars (automobiles) in the United States of America and TWO of them COLLIDED in St Louis, Missouri. Trust me a retired insurance agent CARS will have accidents no matter how many cars are on the roads or WHO may control them.
Scotty, I've been driving Ford F150s for years and have been generally satisfied but I'd feel much more confident if they'd hire you to their board of directors. They could definitely benefit from your common sense and experience.
You said it. Self driving machines and human drivers just don't mix. But, given how bad drivers in USA have become and the increase in the numbers of people on the roads, eliminating the average driver via self driving cars would probably eliminate a lot of stupid accidents. Accidents caused by imprudent speed and especially tailgating.
Scottie, I have been having issues with my 2009 Gmc Yukon TPMS sensors for Months now. I Have changed out all 4 sensors with OEM AC Delco TPMS Sensors. I relearned them and Had them reprogrammed. Yet my TPMS light keeps Flashing and staying Steady. My PSI Are Good. My mechanic Can't Figure it out. I don't want to take it to A GMC Dealership CUZ you Know why. What the heck is going ON?????
