Here's why you need a Mazda Miata NB 

I've owned one for 2 years now, and i absolutely love it. I commute to work every day on a curvy road and there is no better car than this for it, you come to work more happy automatically because it's such a joy to drive. It's the perfect first car for young people who don't need more space!

I love my NB2 Miata. It is my first car and even still have it. I'm 5'9" and fit perfectly on my Miata. They are so much fun. Im planning to keep mine forever.

The NB - hands down - has the most sensual design language. I had a silver NB and remember thinking it had a lot of similarities to the Jaguar XK8. The NA is adorable, the NC is a puffy (but still cute) thing, and the ND’s face is the closest car I’ve ever seen that looks like Smudge the Cat. The tail of the ND is cool but - and I agree - the face is definitely too aggressive for a Miata. Also, the ND should have full LED lighting. Keep up the great work! 🙌

Literally pretty much bought this exact car today..I'm 5'6 but other than that everything you described driving it, I was feeling. it felt so good to feel everything. It was like sensory magic. Im in love with it already. One thing I'll say is this is the best clutch I've ever felt in my life period. Mine has a bigger ducktail that looks oem? Not sure what's up there. It looks awesome tho.

Since high school me and my friend have owned 4 miatas. Back then they were great for us because they were even cheaper than what you see today. We kept motors and good parts and basically have a small miata club at this point. These cars are so good at doing anything you want. Keep it stock and enjoy it plenty or you can build it up and the car handles the extra power very nicely. On reliability, my friend’s NA once had a really bad misfire issue, had no choice but to limp the car a few miles to the mechanic, and found out the car was running on just 2 little cylinders and still wouldn’t let him down. It has since been fixed and the motor is still healthy, unless she’s bleeding out the miata wont ever let you down.

got my drivers license a little more than 2 years ago, bought an nb and been more than happy with it ever since! i just love it and i wouldn't want to give it away anymore

I am on my fifth Miata now and agree NB2 is the best looker. smooth lines and just enough character frontend. interior is also classy designed. like to see next gen with similar design language with latest skyactive 2.0 and bring back the glovebox and I will be in line for my sixth Miata.

The ND is such a huge improvement in this lineage, but I hope the next one is, like you said, a little bit happier.

I have this exact NB! 2003 SE, I love it

I’ve kept my NBFL 100% OEM since I drove it off the showroom floor here in Australia in 2003. It was the absolute perfect for me in 2003, and it still is some 21 years later.

Awesome video. Say hi to Aurora for me. I have a 2001 6 speed NB with hard s suspension. I’m a car guy who has 3 wildly different sports cars. One is a turbo sedan and the other supercharged V8 coupe and are newer. The Miata is by far my favorite one to drive if I just want driving bliss.

The NB reminds me more of the Italian roadsters. It has a cute little boat tail like the Fiat Spider. The NA bears a clear resemblance to the Lotus Elan. I have an ND and I love the raised fenders which makes it seem like a vintage Ferrari.

NB is the best miata.

I've had 2 NAs and an NB. I made my own redesign of the front and rear bumper covers and console. I would still be driving my modded '90 today but some psycho torched it. Looking for another.

I love the organic connection I get from the NB. I bought a 2002 Special Edition a little over a year ago for daily use and I like it more than my project car (89 Ford Sierra Xr4ti). It's like playing Mario Kart every time I drive it. It is one of the slowest cars I've owned but I don't mind because it is just so exciting to drive the lack of horsepower doesn't matter much. It is enjoyable and very satisfying in its stock form but gives you a great platform to modify and is capable of doing so much more than being just a simple roadster.

6'0" ND2 owner here. Fit-wise, you might try angling the seatback more upright while (possibly) sliding the seat further back. Looks like the seatback is too relaxed, judging by the air gap behind your head.

The photo at 1:37 shows two NB1’s. They did have an option for foglights.

I had a 10ae NB with a built motor and a supercharger. Amazing car, only sold it because my elderly dog needed something bigger. Such a great car, just didn't connect with it like I did with my NA6.

Bought her European twin sister - 1,8L 2003 Silver Blues in Strato Blue Mica last year. Almost same mileage - roughly 33K miles. Only difference is I have 5 speed manual and original owner switched gray leather on seats for same color textile.

I love this version (which is why I have one), and the fiat version of the ND (FIAT 124)

After owning and driving all the Miata line, happiest with my ND2 RF.

I currently own a 2000 NB1, I plan on being buried in it when I die lol

The eyelids and clearbra are both great ideas on this.

Interior is timeless

Got my first MX-5 (Miata) in 2003 a 1999 NB 1.6,, the second one in 2006 (10th anh 1999) but because of family I had to sell that in 2013, but in 2021 I bought a 1998 NB 1.6 with 60K miles, and that is a keeper. Just love the car(s)

I love the NB! Although I ended up with a 986 Boxster.

This video would seem to indicate otherwise, but the NB1 also had the side skirts & mud guards available as an option.

I have a 99 (NB1), and although I love to see NB’s represented well, I HAVE to point out two pedantic corrections… the NB1 DID have foglights available. As far as I know in the US they were offered only with the appearance package (mine has them), you even contradict yourself showing a pic of an orange NB1 appearance package with them. Also the side skirts you mention as NB2 exclusive were not, those are the smaller style ones launched on the NB1 (again, my 99 NB1 had those ones from factory). There was a wider style of course on later NB2s.

NC2 is the happiest of them all, probably why it ride like a Lincoln but a beast with feal coilovers.

I’ve had my NB1 since 2019, and hosetly wish I would have gone NC from a comfort standpoint. I use mine as a daily mainly, and the NB is just so cramped, with no adjustable steering column. Not sure if I’ll ever be able to afford one at this point.

By the way, the side skirts were a dealer option. They aren’t on most NB2s, and they can be fitted to NB1s, so they are in no way an NB2 feature over NB1s.

Always hate to see bleached-out top interiors because the owners did not keep the boot over the top when it is down. Happy to say as the original owner of my 2001 LS Miata, it still is as black as when I picked it up 22 years ago. GREAT CAR! I will never sell it.

i did that roof mistake aswel went to grab to pull up 1 hand and it pulled me back from the weight LOL , i love these cars ! im really happy i went with the NB and i hope it does not become the new thing... i want them to stay cheap

Fun fact. The same person that designed the first gen Viper designed the NB miata. You can see the similarities after knowing that.

How much would you say a good condition M Edition should sell for in today’s market. I see a few examples for $10-11k. One with 78000 miles and another with 126000. Both seem to be in good shape.

I've owned my NB2.5 vvti Sport for 21 years now from new. Wouldn't part with it. It's my fun car used in summer months only. The oil pressure gauge isn't what it seems on the NB. You have to swap out the sender unit in the engine block for it to read true oil pressure in an analog way. Same goes for the temperature gauge, you have to change the circuitry behind the gauge for it to read in an analogue way. I've done both on mine ...... and also swap out the radiator for a more efficient aluminium rad for better cooling. mechanically bulletproof is just the poor corrosion protection on the body that lets them down.

I have a '90 NA and a '17 ND rf and I feel the NA is the better car

Miata NB2 looks like a 3/4 scale Viper.

If its smiling it's not aggressive, the newest version is perfect exterior wise. Because it's got enough power now for it's more aggressive non smiling facial expression

Good point about a crappy Yaris being angry. When mainstream shitcars that are intended for people who have 0 interest in cars and just need something to get from point A to point B in the least expensive way -- when such cars are trying to appeal to people by looking aggressive... that's when "aggressive = cool" is officially dead. Because at that point, an aggressive-looking BMW has more in common with Yaris than ever.

The ND is perfectly fine how it looks. They don’t need to turn it into a clown’s car. And I don’t agree with the comments in here that the Fiat 124 looks better. But to each their own I guess.

I love my 2002 NB but, having watched this, I will always have to think of melted cheese.

You are wrong about some things. You got the release date wrong. NB1's came with fog lights.. I have one. I know. 10th anniversary NB1's came with the side skirts and aero. 16" wheels are shit. You just don't know what you are talking about do you?
