Here's Why You Should or Shouldn't Buy A Mercedes Benz EQB350

Test drive an EQB recently. To be frank, I would give it a very different rating. Personally I have always been a huge fan of Mercedes, especially at price points at and above E. The C has always been a borderline one, while I do have a GLC at the moment. The EQB has a suspension that feels relatively subpar for its price range, with Volvo XC40 handling rough roads way (repeated 4x) better. The mid row seats are borderline truck-quality. Rear suspension was literally rattling at 1000km range on the test drive vehicle. Interior materials felt cheap for its price (worse than Chinese made BYD). The 250 was really poor in acceleration (10seconds for 0-100kph???) for its price. While I have never been a fan of Tesla’s acceleration, it also doesn’t mean Mercedes should offer that level of acceleration from a practical point of view, not to mention you need to pay a lot more to get all wheels going instead of just 2. The last row of seats was just pretty much for emergency use only. Maybe good for my 9hear old kid for a 10 minute drive. I’m not even tall (169cm ish) and I found it odd they are even considered legal seats, just like the 911 seats. Overall I found the Mercedes EQB to be quite poor in terms of quality and some of the specs relative to others in the price range. The only real positives that got this car going are the 2 extra seats in rear row and the regen settings, which I found the “D” to be pretty good to strike a balance between having “engine braking” and regens. Outside of those, Mercedes has really disappointed me in terms of its quality and engineering. This is a comment coming from one who currently owns and had owned a combination of around 6 relatively modern Mercedes within the immediate family over the last 20 years and has decided to not go with the 3-star logo when placing deposit for an EV a week ago …

My 2015 MB BEV has hand sensitive door handles, lock unlock. I find it odd that this technology is not brought forward as I thought it was a standard feature.

The back seat Manual fold down is better than power in my opinion. Power folding too SLOW & too easy to JAM.

From my experience, MB made outside of Germany is not the same quality and QC. Never again for me.
