I have been troubled by the idea that Francis might be the false pope. Not wanting to believe it. Today he finally made me believe he is the false pope. The issue with this is if this is true and Christ let the Papacy disappear from the earth why remain Catholic at all and why not just become Orthodox? The Catholic Church lives and dies on the validity of the Papacy, it’s the one thing that is uniquely Catholic and if our understanding of it is incorrect then we can’t be the True Church. The only option for that title then would be Eastern Orthodoxy? Also that logic gets disturbingly close to donatism. The office operates regardless of the specific quality of the man who occupies it. However I don’t think people really get how big of a wrench Sedevcantism really throws into not just Catholicism, but potentially even Christianity as a religion. It’s literal proof that the largest standing body of Christians on earth stopped being guided by the Holy Spirit. What does that mean for Christianity as a faith? Does that potentially outright invalidate it? What does that mean for the souls who have died over the last 2,000 years? I don’t think people really understand how serious of a charge this really is. This is earth shattering stuff that gets thrown around the same way you’d throw dirt at a politician you don’t particularly care for.

Satan masquerades as an Angel of light. There are supernatural appearances that have happened but it wasn’t Mary behind them, but rather the enemy. Satan and his fallen angels have power to deceive people with supernatural encounters and knowledge. It’s part of the mystery religion that ensnares so much of the world. Jesus is clear that the only way to God is through him. You won’t find any biblical scripture that tells us we will receive encounters from angels, Mary or the Saints. In fact, the Bible instructs us not to communicate with the dead, because it opens us up to manipulation from the enemy.

@@Jody_the_real_cool_cat there is no biblical scripture that says Mary was without sin and was resurrected into Heaven. These are blasphemous deceitful teachings of the Catholic Church. Yes, Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, but after that she lead a normal human life. Jesus is the only one in history who lived a full life without sin. If Mary lived without sin, that would erase the need for Jesus, which is what Satan wants. Satan is always trying to eliminate the need for Jesus and turn us away from Him. Only Jesus was without sin , and that is what justifies His atonement that saves us. Teaching that anyone else was without sin is an apostasy and it’s meant to deceive you, friend.

This is absolutely right. God loves everyone, and for sure he sees people's devotion in their religions and is pleased (if they know nothing better), but his love for them means he wants them to have Jesus. While it's true that people can approach God, to some extent, through non-Christian religions, this has to become a springboard to knowing and accepting Jesus. Only through Jesus can we enter heaven. I often think of Acts 10: 18, where God says to Paul "I have many people in this city". These people are not at that point Christians - they haven't had the Gospel preached to them - but they are people God has noticed and counts as his, and who he wants to hear about Jesus. That must be our attitude.
