Herlock Sholmes: A Story From Annoyed to Confusion to Love to Still Confused

His deductions are so outrageous, but every trial, he always makes a remark to us that becomes a prophecy, as if he already knows how the trial will go. The best Characters development in The Great Ace attorney is definitely CrystAAHHLs from not taking this doofus detective seriously to falling for him really hard

It’s all fun and games until Herlock goes to visit a waterfall.

What I like is how when Sholmes is first introduced with all his odd tendencies to be in odd places (like on the desk or in the wardrobe in chapter 2), they are actually secret hints into the case at hand.

"Sholmes" is the most masterful troll in the entire series. Hats off to him. I thought he was dumb at first. I was even outraged that he was nothing like the book character he is based on. But then... I reached the end of the second game in this chronicle. Well played, "Sholmes". Well played.

What is it about detectives that just seems to win her over? First we have Mr. Pancakes, then the Detective Prince, and then we had Herlock winning everyone over with his goofy charm.

It really is amusing to think of how many times Sherlock was able to catch her off guard. If he were like his counterpart, he might have outstayed his welcome in due time (or just been a lackluster Gumshoe), but the amount of random things he does always keeps you on your toes. One minute he is randomly in the background and jump scaring you, the next, he’s not only getting up in your face and changing his appearance.

Everyone’s bringing up Akechi and Sholmes for detectives Crystaahhl simps for. And yet there is NO MENTION of Naoto thus far, I must rectify this immediately. She has simped for THREE detectives now. Twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

You know how insanity is defined as doing something over and over and expecting different results? This is the second definition they hind from you.

It is abundantly clear that Crystal's type is detective, whether goofy, evil, awkward or otherwise. Naoto, Sholmes, Nagito, Akechi..

The best himbos are the ones who feign most of their actual himboness, but still clearly have some legitimate himbo energy.

Sholmes and Akechi: both start out annoying, both end up beloved, both take VERY DIFFERENT ROADS TO THEIR “BELOVED” STATUS

Mr Sholmes is truely one of the greatest characters in fiction you take the most well known and stoic and smart charchters in history give him a bit of silliness it just makes one of the most fun charchters iv seen in a game

God it's like Akechi all over again... But with less anger issues.

I know it could definitely be that Sholmes was always messing with us but I always interpreted it differently. I think it's more like he and Mikotoba complete each other. Sholmes has incredible skills of observation and intuition, but he's actually not particularly good at taking all of the things he's noticed and piecing them together into a concrete theory, at least not when he's at the scene. So whenever he would propose his theory, there would be aspects where he's correct, and aspects where he's wrong and needs to be guided in the right direction. However, Mikotoba is the opposite. Multiple times when the two of them were together in the last case, he would hear Sholmes make an observation and say something along the lines of "I didn't notice that! That's true!" and then help piece the theory together from there. Which is also what Naruhodo would do with Sholmes. The difference is that because Sholmes and Mikotoba have worked together for so long, they're able to bounce off of each other and complete each other's thoughts much more easily than Naruhodo can. They each know how the other works and they trust each other enough to be able to guide themselves towards the right answer. But without his other half, Sholmes lacks the guidance to be able to do it on his own. That's why his deductions from the rest of the game are so sloppy, while having enough truth in them for us to be able to solve the puzzle.
