The entirety of the court case was amazing... Pixl's seriousness and abiding by actual court rules and names of stuff, while Joel's trying to kill Jimmy and calling him a toy. Amazing.

I love how Joel could've easily won that case but instead looked for an opportunity to make fun of Jimmy. Jimmy won the case but somehow Joel still got the last laugh

Joel should call it “The house of Hermes” it sounds more important than Hermes house.

Technically the "Law's" image was never trademarked so meaning it was under the public domain which then allows anyone like joel to use it however he pleases

Here’s the interesting thing. Joel was definitely breaking copyright laws. You could argue that Jimmy didn’t put “copyright” in the law he made, but there are some incredibly broad categories in there that it could fall under. The point is, Joel is pretty clearly in the wrong. However, he is 100% correct that “Respect the Sheriff” being a law is incredibly corrupt, and I think if he took that to a big claims court he could win.

In Greek mythology, Hermes’ sacred animals’ (which have an equivalent in Minecraft) are a tortoise(->turtle) and ram(->goat/sheep). You could also have a parrot as a reference to his winged sandals. I think they’d be good pets at hermes’ home!

It would be so cool if the judge in the higher level of court is lizzie! Like she used to practice law long ago and now she is an experienced judge! Really would support the law and the lore!!

I am so surprised that Joel didn’t use the “I’m a god” clause as his defense. In Greek mythology, it was the gods that made and could break the laws afterall. I think you all should retexture some boots with wings on it just for Hermes to wear.

what's sad is that, contrary to lizzie's examination, this case could (from my understanding (as im not a lawyer)) have been won quite easily. 1. For Joel to be sued for copyright infringement there must be a copyright in place and it is illegal to copyright a "human" likeness. 2. a toy would not fall under the parameters of defamation (a written or spoken piece that hurts someones reputation). 3. it could be argued that the toy was not made in jimmy image but was passed on other such characters like woody (toy story) etc. and that any resemblance to jimmy was completely insodental. (especially easy to argue if Joel placed a sign in his shop stating "any similarities to any existing likenesses is completely incidental" otherwise, another whole entertaining vid Joel 👏

The signs progressively getting more and more suggestive each episode and I am here for it.

Pixlriff as judge was going so well until I heard "objection, heresay!" ..."sustained" and then fWhip keeps talking 😬 Joel really be in a lawsuit for making a toy of somebody (which us usually a high praise if it looks exactly like them and nothing wrong with the toy itself) but he has a judge who doesn't know the difference between "Sustained" and "Overruled" so its hard to tell if they know the difference between appraisal and insult on injury 😂

I like how every time Joel bring Hermes to Sausage, he just breaks him and re-builds him, whereas when Auntie Lizzie was bringing Hermes around she literally used a fishing rod to painstakingly move him everywhere. Also if Hermes has been broken and rebuilt repeatedly in this fashion, does this make him immortal? Or is he like a reincarnation of himself every time?

Here are some things that Joel could have used in court: Woody tried to commit arson Burned a toy Harassing a child And specifically created laws so Joel can’t have any legal rights

Isn't it also possible to say that since each empire has a different ruler they are counted as different countries, therefore, they can make their own laws? Since the toy shop is in Joel's empire then Joel can say that there is a law to allow him to do as he wishes

Can anyone tell me who the sheriff actually protects? So far he's only served himself and his own interests. Also, Mr. Gaming is the sheriff and therefore holds the executive power of the law. Yet, he created the law himself, thus representing the legislative power and going against the separation of powers. This can be a pretty strong case against Solidarity to prove how corrupt he truly is.

I keep expecting voice-over Joel to break into Empires and become God Joel’s nemesis because he’s tired of how he’s treated. What an awesome twist would that be!

Stratosphere gold lore: needs the hands of a god or the likes (demigod, etc.) to throw it in a holy fountain of Stratos to be converted. There fixed the issue of if somebody steals the Stratos-Sphere again and you need more Stratos gold lol

I think you and sausage should recruit a babysitter for Hermes in case you need someone to look after him, as aunty Lizzie was not the safest option. Maybe Gem or Katherine, they are pretty peaceful!

Hermes should have a pet cow because Greek god hermes stole apollo's cows, also the ancient greeks believed gods could not be judged by mortal laws so technically Joel is always right

Joel's 'happy' montage sounds like he's on the verge of a mental breakdown

Ironically Joel had multiple strong defenses, but bungled them away. That being said, it's all fun and games, and it was pretty hilarious. But maybe next time Joel should bribe Lizzie to get her to represent him.

I gotta say its so funny how Pix became a judge for this, including the skin change. I cannot wait to see this through his point of view, along with Fwhips lol. And I've been loving taking inspiration from everyone's build styles to better improve how I build as well. Its cool how most people are building out of their comfort zone in new styles. Especially Jimmy building better than he did last season even if he's following tutorials :>

The court case ended quite well even without our amazing lawyer who turned down Joel but little did she know.. he's a god(a strong tall man at that) and even if he "lost" the case, he also won it

What about getting Hermes a pet chicken? In the Greek mythology, Hermes has little wings on his shoes to make him fly!

You should make the glass blocks in Hermes' aquarium into glass panes so the fish have more room to swim. Just a suggestion, (that i'd REALLY like to see added).

Well it's official.. Jimmy is a toy. You can't copyright common household things, or names of items in general.. Things like his outfit, badge, even skin color are all common/household items (this is why Band-Aids insist they are bandages). Almost every town in the American Wild West had a sheriff who dressed 100% similar to Jimmy, so he legally can't copyright any of that stuff. Since sheriffs were so common, you can't claim likeness or copyright on that. So therefore his likeness suit can only boil down to one thing.. Joel made a toy of a toy, and therefore that is why he lost the case.

Lore Part 2: SmallishBeans "empire" had now begun, but even after the town suffered the power of Atlas, SmallishBeans could not be felled. He soon decided to sit down and think about everything. A few years ago, he had snuck out of the city, which was still in progress, and went on a little adventure. Soon, he came to a beautiful place where he met the love of his life, ShadowLady. With his ego, tallness, and sexiness, she was somewhat seduced, but it was just his natural flair. They fell in love and started meeting in secret. They loved each other so much that they got married. Then he thought about his second adventure. Young him thought that if there is people like that, there must be many more to befriend. So he went off, and met Sausage. The man was hilarious with a talent for building. They made quick friends and met on Saturdays. These were happy days, and he now missed his love, and came to visit. But to his surprise, there was another person he met there, and his heart filled with joy! She had birthed a beautiful baby and couldn't come to tell the news. She said it was his to name, and after everything, he decided to name it Hermes. Now the actual god Hermes, saw this as great praise, and blessed upon the baby, speed, and SmallishBeans, the power of lore. The baby grew so fast, with height, comes the brains, soon he was basically an edgy teen. He came to live with him for a while and even with all of this happening, SmallishBeans was still sad, he still had lost his family. So, Hermes, put his powers to work and started to sneak out and bring back letters from Sausage. This gave happiness to SmallishBeans and gave him the will to build again. So with his powers of lore. He made a fountain of lore. Through this fountain, if he jumped in he could see and speak to his fallen loved ones and his deceased family had more power than he thought. With his family's power they made the fountain overflow to make a lake of lore. With all of this happening, he had become so happy and his ego could fill the lake 3 times over. With this, he got hard to work.... Joel, i found your channel through Jimmy's channel, and I gotta say, this feud between you and him over whether he's a toy or not is pretty fun to watch! I have an idea for you to prove that Jimmy is a toy. You know the myth of Hercules/Heracles? Contrary to what the sanitized Disney movie portrays, Hercules/Heracles was the illegitimate son of Jupiter/Zeus and a demigod from birth. So Juno/Hera, Jupiter/Zeus's wife and the goddess of marriage, being very jealous of Hercules/Heracles, set up several seemingly impossible trials to prove his worth to her. And considering that your theme for your Empire this season is Greek mythology, you might already know what the outcome of those trials were. With your theme being Greek mythology for this season of Empires, and the fact that you're acting as the god of your Empire, *perhaps* you should set up a series of trials for Jimmy to prove to you that he isn't a toy! *And* you should set up said trials so that he can't succeed, *or* so that success is very difficult for him to atain! To me, that sounds *exactly* like what a god would do! :)

And while you may have lost the copyright lawsuit, I still think you could sue him for restricting free speech, seeing as any good law-abiding officer would be able to live with someone insulting them, and not use their power for evil :3 (also, he called your son stupid, so revenge for that could be fun too)

Lore is amazing

The fact that even Lizzie refused to represent Joel in court just proves that she's a good lawyer. Also, I noticed that he didn't turn over any of the gold that was used to purchase some of the toys, only the diamonds. Speaking of gold, when will Joel face off with Joey? Is that storyline just going to die, because they finally realized they were heading towards a war WAY too early in the season? Did Pix have to bring down the LORE hammer, and force them to curb their natural chaotic tendencies? And what's up with Joel only now giving Hermes his own room, and not knowing that Sausage had built Hermes a room several episodes ago? How does he know so little about his son's life? Definitely not father of the year material. 😢

The amount of love and protection Joel and Sausage give to Hermies is too wholesome 💕

Joel! You should come out with some new stock at your Toy Barn. To go along with this, I seem to remember when Jimmy got his horses he named one Bullseye - JUST like a certain toy sheriff... So you could add a toy horse to go with 'the law'. You could also do a kitty toy - his kitty is his Deputy. And fwhip being his second Deputy you could make a Goblin toy. Also, you could offer to make custom toys. IE: Gem may be interested in a Bee stuffed animal? Lizzy a fox to go with her villagers or a fish / chicken they'd like as a toy. ^.^
