HL2 is amazing kit when paired with the HL2 Thetis flavored software. I've been meaning to do a video on mine. I added the pure signal input and use the CL2 output to send a 116mhz sig stabilize a cheap Ukrainian transverter for 2m. Works great!
Hi, and thank you for the comment. I have been looking at the pure signal. What is the advantage of the pure signal is it just a high bandwidth way of operating?
@@digitalanaloguehamradio it's pre -distortion for your output, it samples the output and sends inverse signal to your transmission taking a lot of the IMD for a very clean tx. If you run an amplifier, you can also sample that output with the HL2 and clean that up as well,, just like the Apache radios.
Audio sounds awesome Chris, I’ve not gone through previous comments. Did you receive this audio mobile or at your HA. Keep up the great content mate. 👍
Hi jason, thanks for watching . This is at the home QTH with my mag loop. The hardware of the radio is extremely similar to radios that are far more expensive
Sounds really good Chris. What antenna were you using? Your S-meter & the dBm at the top right suggest about an S8 noise but it doesn't sound that noisy. Have you rolled back the RF gain? I love my FTDX10. The receiver on that is phenomenal & allows me to hear things which I would never have previously have been able to receive at this noisy urban location. Having said that, I'm wondering if I can do even better with an SDR. I've been looking at Sun SDR & Flex Radios but really not sure that I can justify the cost.
@@ON8EI Thanks for the reply. I briefly looked at the Apache Labs SDR's but considered them out of my budget. Having said that, the 6000DLE is about 2k with only 30 watts output (can boost that to around 150-200 watts with my existing amplifier). Just spoken to Chris offline & he reckons the HL2 hardware is very close to the Anan.....might be worth a try?
