Just two quick improvements to the creeper farm. First one is changing the carpet pattern. Spiders actually need a 3x3 square to spawn, so you're probably losing couple spots where the creepers can spawn rn. Second one is the use of the soul campfires. They deal more damage so more creepers can spawn sooner.
yep, technically they do need a 2x2 but they spawn from the center of a block, so its half a block on the edges, and so since there are no blocks that just sit in one half of a block but take up some amount of the center you can just think of it as 3x3 (tho some things can be on one side of a block, like bamboo, but they are random in placement. oh wait an open trapdoor can be on just one side of a block so there is that, but yeah point stands)

Ok Grian, hear me out: Set a ring of water within the rim, at about the depth you'd made a pond. Strategically place cherry trees/plants and stuff spilling over the outside edge - maybe like, some jungle leaves and moss for extra green - and let the water out in falls in some places so it cascades down the sides of the volcano into ponds below. Then, inside of the volcano, gradient your way down from Stone to Basalt to Blackstone to magma blocks with lava at the bottom (or however would look best for that kind of thing). Then build whatever structure inside - could be suspended from the sides but hanging over the center, embedded on the sides, could be rising out of the lava, could be *under* the lava with a secret entrance setup- who knows. Could build little bridges over the river ring, could make it so you have to hop across some stones or lily pads, etc etc. Might be fun to do vents and smoke on the outside too or something.
Aw man its gonna be tragic to loose the cherry grove. But at the same time, a volcano sounds sick. Maybe if you incorporate cherry trees into it somehow to honor the original biome it could be perfect. Idea: Maybe it could be based off Mt. Fuji in Japan and that way you can have cherry trees around it and make it look super pretty plus also fit in perfectly with the nearby cyberpunk city and Joel's base.
I love how no one is mentioning that the snails’ business is literally money laundering. They are selling product to exchange dirty money for clean money.
To answer your question @Grian The mail system is WAY better than discord because it allows the viewer to see the interactions hermits have with each other in an organic way. It's so much more fun to see the hermits write, send, and receive messages in the world rather than just saying "oh on discord we..." Keep using it, it is brilliant for the viewer immersion! That's not to mention the creative/funny ways people are using the mail system like joking spam mail, cool discount coupons, and funny joke mail.

Its a fantastic money laundering scheme. Selling ore for 4 for 2 means 2 diamonds per ore. Fortune yields an average of 2.2 diamonds per ore so the customers profit 0.4 diamonds per sale on average. And the snails exchange illegally obtained diamond ore for untraceable legal tender (diamonds).

You guys should make glass tunnels throughout the volcano leading to each other's bases. And Gem should do something with her skull to the volcano, that would be so cool!
Over the volcano, you should add small, narrow floating islands with cherry blossom trees which go from black (at the pointy bottom) to regular stone, then dirt. You should also make the islands have variating height and size. Honestly, i think it would be a nice finishing touch to the volcano
5:56 this heavily implies one or more hermits are addicted enough to gambling and that allows them to use up the stock faster than scar even hears of it, because we all know he can afford it
A group of Hermits--including Grian, Scar, Impulse and Mumbo--holding meetings which Mumbo does not attend in or near a deadly hole reminds you of Boatem? I can't imagine why.

Ok here’s my ideas for things to put inside Magic Mountain: •A long, winding roller coaster ride that ends with you falling into the lava (akin to the roller coaster ride that Scar gave AFK Grian in Boatem) (also call it Scar’s Sacrificial Steam Engine of Magic and Lots and Lots of Lava, abbreviated to SSSEMLLL) •A black market run by the snails (possibly not run by Grial [Grain Snail] or Geminiail [Gemini Snail])(maybe run by Snar [Snail Scar]) •A Snail revolution against the Permit system •A really punk rock zen garden as part of Joel’s base (mixing the aesthetics of both a volcano and Joel’s Japan inspired base) •Lava Fishing. Self explanatory. •A parkour course above the lava •A perfectly normal and cozy coffee shop that will act as your meeting room. It looks entirely different than anything else in the entire volcano and looks extremely out of place. It has some comfortable seats, potted plants, you get the idea. •Doorways from everyone’s base into the volcano, each having different styles depending on the base and hermit. If I come up with more ideas I’ll probably put them somewhere.
reasons the mailbox is better than discord: - its more interactive! People will feel more obliged to reply in a cordial way - it’s impressive! a demonstration of redstone ingenuity - its fun!
You can also send in-game item and decorate the message in different ways. Other hermits can also collect the messages in their base, and that can be viewed in world download.

You could put, like, mini versions of your houses sinking into the lava? or put a small snail comunity in there? On scars ideas, you could be sacrificing to the snail gods.
Fun tip! You can cover your farm with tinted glass to allow yourself to see inside without decreasing the spawnrate of mobs in the farm! Now if only we had dyed tinted glass... Actually, I really want there to be frosted glass, like the reverse of tinted glass, basically allowing light through, but not as transparent as regular glass.

I love their deliberation with Cub's bases. Does Cub have 44+ hidden bases? or does he not? but it's Cub tho, he's either put the number randomly or really had 44+ hidden bases and we'll only know if we searched for it. xD Schrodinger's Cat < Cub's Hidden bases.
You should make the volcano a villain base on the inside, and your normal base is just a front to cover up for the shenanigans within. The villain organization should be called "The Snail Society" or something including snails.

Tango and Etho figured out a controlled way to use tnt minecarts to clear a decent sized area. They did it to clear space for tangos binary coded factory. It might be a more efficient use of tnt since you’re not getting a lot. Impulse has access to the iron farm as well for rails and minecarts. I love the idea of starting with a basic idea and seeing where it takes you and I LOVE the idea of it being collaborative. There are so few major builds that involve multiple hermits. Edit: I came back for an idea. You mentioned avengers assemble. It would be really cool if a certain fowl themed vigilante hero and a hOtguy teamed up with some other hero’s and the volcano was their secret base.
Great episode Grian, I love how you aren't caring about efficiency. I agree we get a bit too hung up on that, looking forward to seeing where Magic Mountain goes from here!

I kinda hope they do the volcanoe like Mount Fuji as a call back to the cherry trees that used to be there. Plus I think it will fit in better than a scar land volcanoe.
Hey Grian! I hope you can see this one.. Since a LOT of people don't wan't the theme the season gave away, which is cherry blossoms, why don't you build like a cherry volcano? It'll be a volcano but with TONS of cherry features! I also have lore for this: So basically the gods of fire has taken over the gods of blossom, and the blossoms are now part of the fire nation. So about the sacrifices that scar said, there were sacrifices made to this volcano, which provided the PERMITS. And since the first meeting place was at the CHERRY mountain, you, gem, impulse,scar, skizz, joel, and mumbo of course are blossom citizens right? And since the " fire nation " invaded the cherry mountain, you have to serve these gods of fire, so you sacrificed people to get these PERMITS for the shopping district.
I was sucked in by the Permit Office shenanigans, which I loved 😍 but my heart sang when you were arranging the squares of anti-spider carpet and you started from "functional" and progressed to "symmetrical".

I think with all the tallented Hermits that live around Magic Mountain, you all could definitely combine the firey, destructive, geological force of a volcano with the serine, beautiful, natural beauty of the cherry grove. That combined contrast would really make it a *Magic* Mountain.
I feel like the volcano could link into each hermits theme!! Gem and Grian with the fishing doc vibe, maybe a few mythical creatures for scars animals, possibly a mount fuji style for joel, to get into a secret area mumbo could build another elaborate door and in the secret area itself skizz and impulse could incorporate areas of their respective mini-games!
The carpets don't have to be every 2 blocks but every 3. Spiders are 2 blocks wide but they spawn centered on a block so they require an unobstructed 3x3 area.
For the snails, I was thinking you could place an item frame on the fence/wall and make it invisible and but a black-stone button on it to make a 'Bowtie'.
i absolutely love how magic mountain is really similar to the energy of boatem, but what really sets this season apart for me is that after the meeting was done we kind of just got to see you guys hanging out and catching up on other stuff, like showing off the snails’ new business venture and finding cub’s (44th) hideout. interactions like those are just so nice to me because it reminds us that at the end of the day you’re all just friends playing minecraft together. i really hope you stick with this energy for hermitcraft because it’s so nice to see you all turning off “grind mode” for once
