@@emilyrattini8462I mean doc destroyed that amount of blocks down to bedrock when he first made the perimeter, so what will one extra layer of dirt do?
Xisuma casually dropping the bomb fact that he effectivley invented the most played gamemode ever on multiplayer servers. Xisuma you might actually be responsible for the running of thousands of servers and the enjoyment of millions of players! X for the win!
Welcome to Hermitcraft! We have Xisuma, Impulse, Tango, Docm77 and the Hivemind, Grian, MumboJumbo, every other member who have also made amazing things... And then we have the true GOAT, Etho
I fully support you taking your time, working on projects that excite you, and uploading when you have something you want us to see. Don't worry about keeping to a schedule if that's going to cramp your style. I look forward to seeing others play your game!
Xisuma invented Bedwars. Grian invented TNT Run and co-founded WynnCraft. Vintage Beef invented UHC. Etho created… well… a lot. Wild that the hermits created so many foundational aspects of Minecraft, and they don’t even flex about it.
I don't think he'll use it anymore so it's not a big deal, but the strings in Doc's dragon eggs farm needed to be placed in an exact order. I'm pretty sure it's broken now
It‘s great that you are still doing Hermitcraft. No need for frequent episodes but if there are some from time to time I‘m super happy! They are always so much fun
This seems super fun! I'd love to see even more projects like this in the future. Kind of like Etho's Battle Bane. There's something about pvp games that are really fun, because a lot of the gameplay unfolds from decisions the players make, rather than just following a template
Not even halfway through, but X, the production in this video, reference to old builds, reference to the origin of bedwars. I like all of it a LOT! I hope you find a new direction for your Hermitcraft endeavours and continue to make great content. This video is super excellent!
I am loving all the games being built by the hermits! It is going to lead to such fun videos. Mega bases are neat, but I really love the games where hermits can hang out and have a friendly competition. An idea for season 10!
It might be interesting if the glass in the centre had a fog effect from stained glass. It might make the central area a little more spooky and unpredictable, although it might not fit with the game you are making
You could alternate the glass layers in the central room to get the foggy effect an therefore seeing the enemies emerging from the fog, and move the glowstone to another biome like the desert-like one that already has other yellow blocks, or maybe even make a nether inspired biome, sandwitched between amethyst block layers to simbolyze a portal, with also lava and quartz for redstone (that could be included in one of the deepslate layers.). Regardless, the game seems fun and I might build it to try it with my friends. Also, happy to see Iskall on the server!
An unnecessary, but cool thing you could add is for the team entrances, instead of a simple iron door, a flush piston door made with netherite blocks. It’s the same blast-resistance and mining properties as obsidian, and generally more similar in color & theme so it feels more like the players are getting sealed into an obsidian vault, but unlike obsidian, is moveable with pistons so can be made into a piston door. And making it flush from the inside just further adds to the “no escape” vibe this is going for.
Just a thought I had when you were working on the center. Instead of glowstone at the center, you could have a "outpost" you have to capture which works essentially like a hopper clock, but each side of the clock is disabled by pressure plates. The team that "captures the middle" could then gain an advantage, such as having a single health damage 2 potion being deposited via water elevator to their base every few minutes. Then, because hermits could blow up or mine the pressure plate, you could use ancient debris to mark out where the pressure plates are suppose to go on the floor.
I am so shocked that x basically came up with the concept of bed wars. Incredible and you never see him brag about it or anything (you actually never see him at all) but what I did get to see was that amazing double derp animation and I loved it
I know this video isn’t about it but I love that the whole server came together (minus doc of course) to cover the perimeter! When I saw Mumbo’s video (I saw his first) and saw that everyone came together, even Iskall, to do that, it was really awesome to see. This server is amazing! Even though season 9 is starting to slow down in content, it’s still throwing out surprises
Xisuma, idk if you thought of this, but you’ll need to leave a layer of space between the top layer of stone and stuff and the obsidian, so that players can access chests on the top rows.
This is so cool! I'm looking forward to seeing hermits play it! (I feel like I've said that a lot recently, lol, it's really great how there are so many minigames being made!)
The arena's kind of narrow; it might be hard to sneak around. Suggestions: - Add chests with swift sneak boots. - Add chests with blaze rods, nether wart, fermented spider eyes, and carrots. (Let the smart player's put 'em together.) - Alternatively, just give players invisibility potions (if poison & golden carrots are too OP) - Entomb armor stands (and name them after hermits) - Alternatively, add nametags and let hermits create their own decoys Additional ideas: - Entomb some wolves, and add bones - Entomb some hostile mobs (silence them, if you've got that mod installed) - Make the bottom layer of the gravel section icy (powdered snow, mixed in with regular snow and ice)
This is awesome and reminds me of how on the Playstation 3 back in the day in 1.10 I'd create custom Superflat Worlds with every layer having a different material that got more and more precious.´It just felt awesome to get op for some reason but I was really young back then so I couldn't get lots of all of the ores and stuff in a normal world. Brought back some nostalgic memories.
maybe a loyalty trident could be in the centre, as you don't see them very often in pvp but it would give a small advantage to whichever team can keep it.
I've heard of it but never seen a bedwars game before. This was so much fun to watch Joe Hill's video on them playing it! Thanks for such great Hermitcraft entertainment.
One suggestion would be to put a beacon at the starting end of each tunnel. I imagine the start will be slow but as it drags on, there may be a lot of walking, so players can put speed to get to the middle quicker. They can also put whatever effect they like and upgrade the beacon as they choose, but it's a double edged sword since the effect will also affect the enemy
This was such a cool project to watch, and part of what I liked was that this felt like you sharing your honest excitement for a Hermitcraft project. It really comes through how important it was for you to take this break from the grind of the RU-vid schedule. Thanks for sharing, X!
IMPROVEMENTS: 1) some items like cobwebs could be abused to make a second bed. You can fix this by giving a carefully selected amount of them. Or for less upkeep, give exactly 1 too few to make a bed in a chest at the start. 2) not all resources need to be gathered in the blocks, if I want to craft something, I could have been given all but 1 resource, as long as I need to find that 1 last thing, it's effectively the same. 3) if you didn't have the immovable blocks, you could make the floor/ceiling and or walls out of pistons and allow for a quick rebuild in survival mode. (You'd want to compare how many of each block was mined so the right amounts get pushed back in for each section, still better than placing it all. 4) Some open spaces would be nice. Granted if there's open spaces in the mining sections then you can't automate rebuilding as easily. But a central open area between the glass could be cool. Otherwise all combat is always going to be in close quarters. 5) since you have a starting area, your shop idea is viable, could even be redstone. For example, instead of the apples in the chests, you could have hoppers the players can throw things in and droppers that give them stuff. Ex. Put in a block they don't need to craft with, and the machine at the front will take X of that block and give an apple or a gunpowder. 6) Not really an improvement but this game becomes a different strategy if played in the nether with respawn anchors. Just a thought lol 7) adding the shop at the front would allow players to buy potions without you needing to add all the resources needed to brew into the game. 8) This would mess with the auto reload idea, but pockets of water or lava could be very interesting Hopefully X sees this lol
could you use the string to make a second bed, maybe as like a decoy? or as a gamble, to set your spawn closer to the action, but if you lose that spawnpoint, you're out of the game
I also feel like Hermits are creating mini-games (or attractions from Scar) recently. If you ever re-build your mini-game, maybe use barrels instead of chests ?
Well that looks amazing! And yes, I have been figuring out how to cheese it. Probably start off by making a wooden pick, axe and trapdoor to minimise tunnel size, then just rush diamonds
Had this episode been released last week and other hermits, say Grian, got to know about both this stockpile of obsidian and the possibility of easily farming it, Doc's perimeter would now be sealed shut for good. It'd be easier to dig the whole damn thing again in some other area than manually farming the half a million obsidian covering the perimeter.
Grians perimeter cover up used about that many shulkerboxes. So if the war escalates further this might be the final prank. Or Doc uses it to fully enclose Scarland…
It might be fun to put air gaps between the glass so that the further out you are the harder it is to see the other team. And who doesn't love a fog effect?
On the next build of tunnel rats, I think a see through roof, maybe with obsidian over that to keep the theme, to make a viewing area or knockout area for people to watch and look down on. Maybe iron trapdoors to catch glimpses? It would be out of bounds for anyone still playing.
you could put a lava pool in the middle, people can bridge over it or collect it with iron buckets. kinda OP but also kinda funny. or mobs of some sort.
@@slpyOb I mean yeah but he deserves more, talking about how fast he uploads and how he managed to keep hermitcraft i dontmaybe stable? Lol, i mean look at Mumbo and Grian’s shenanigans, it creates a lot of problems towards the server. Not to mention xisumavoid is very creative and entertaining.
This seems like an amazing game and I’d love to play it. I might make a version in creative which automatically regenerates with randomised positions of ores and chests and randomised contents of chests. One thought I had: you gave them gravel for flint. You gave them iron. You put them in an obsidian box. Could they not go to the nether? I realised that the box isn’t the right shape, but then you gave them mineable obsidian so…?
X, the dragon egg farm is still broken, even if you replace the string. The string needs to be placed in a VERY specific way. It's why it was behaving weirdly. I'm guessing doc won't mind anyway, just letting you know.
I remember first logging into Hypixel years ago on a late summer night and I saw the bedwars lobby, I was like huh, what’s that, and I fell in love with the game, I’m sad that 1.8 PvP has started to die down and honestly, its crazy how bedwars has driven Minecraft content for 6 years! About half Minecraft’s life! Thank you X! ❤
I never played it but after seeing the image I do recall BedWars or whatever it was called back then. Good job. 👍 It seems you were destined to be a big part of the Minecraft community.
I don't know if it'd be something possible, but to detect if either beds has been destroyed and open the doors back, and play maybe a "Red Team wins" sound or something. Either way, looks like fun times.
I realy like to see a central villager breeder in one of the comming season with no one being allowed to have their own villagers. Or something like hermitopia where you all work tohether one a giant megabase
Hey X, I was thinking you could add a chest inside of the glowstones that contains blaze rods and nether warts so that teams could make potions. Perhaps as a balance you could add a thick wall of crying obsidian in the middle to separate each side that way its harder for teams to get all the potions to themselves. Just an idea, cool concept for a minigame reguardless!
Hermitcraft is a time capsule of Minecraft invention and innovation. On this server, we have the creator/innovator for: Bedwars Etho Hopper Clock ABBA Caving impulseSV item sorter and probably much more. What other creations and innovations that changed the face of Minecraft originated with the Hermits?
I think the Glowstone could also be replaced by a Brewingstand on each side and a box with the ingredients for an Invisible Potion, a Speed Potion and a Strength Potion but only one Nether Wart. That could be tactically interesting which potion you brew in order to get ahead.
Suggestion: if the tunnle made out from obsidian, you can make another tunnel in the nether and give the players an option to jump between dimension... And if you want to fill the tunnel in the nether that can be full with stuff that you can get in the nether, maybe bastion's loot and more...
Maybe also add torches to the beginning chest? Otherwise mobs might spawn and that could be pretty awkward and annoying. Unless that's the way it's supposed to be.
Add ender pearl chambers outside the minigame!, the team that loses will respawn on spawn so they won't take as long to come back. It could also be a quick way to reunite everybody when the game is finished to celebrate the winners.
