personally, i'm a massive fan of the 40-50ish minute episodes it's so nice to just sit down for an hour and just watch my favorite youtuber. but honestly if they are harder to edit or less fun to make then go back to 20-30ish minute videos. I havent watched Etho since he had the massive underground base back in 2018ish. Man hes hit 18 on trending, no sponcerships, no donations, no like/subs graphics. 50 min episodes... Absolute tank.

For the Frogger game, maybe you could make the player guide a frog on a lead across the level? That way they have to take it at a similar cadence to the original game, quite slow and methodical, rather than potentially just sprinting through it all

I'm certain that it is way more work and stress than we realise, so I think I speak for most when I say that I really appreciate the effort needed to release these episodes. Personally I prefer the longer videos, but do whatever you feel is best :)

i love how etho still takes us along for the journey of smaller builds like the mountain pathway, will always love hearing the thought process behind his creations!

As someone who used to work for AOL, the fact that you said the saying was "from the movie" killed me. LOL. Every time you got email in your AOL box, it would say "You've got mail". But I'm old... so um. there's that! Seriously though, how many people who play Minecraft even know the movie "You've got mail".

the end was golden, the mouse position revelation from an episode or two ago already had me intrigued but the whole explanation of the tissue box and everything had me going "god I'd love to see a photo of this setup but there's no way he'd ever do that" AND THEN THERE IT WAS

The best part about Etho is that he has 11 days played. and 4 episodes. Which to me shows more than anything that he really just loves playing on the Hermitcraft server. Hes just a gamer. Not a "RU-vidr". Which is one of many reasons he has been my favourite youtuber for 12 years now.

This season has already earned its spot as one of my favorites. I love that everyone seems to genuinely interact with each other and it feels way more like friends organically playing together than a bunch of isolated content creators! This episode was spectacular

each six months I find myself thinking, "we're in yet ANOTHER golden age of etho content." just SUCH entertaining videos, wonderful interactions, technical innovations, beautiful builds... we're lucky to be living through it. oh, and a REAL LIFE PHOTO OF THE DESK! what a time to be alive!

I had actually saved up a few etho hermitcraft episodes, and it's always such a wholesome way to spend an evening. These videos make me smile the whole way through, even after all these years

People are rightfully perplexed by the desk set up, but I feel like we also need to address the desk itself. Did Etho walk into a random office park in 1992 and just leave with the first piece of furniture he saw?? The steel frame and built in file cabinet drawers are killing me.

For life system: When player pays, This sets a dropper counter to and blocks the game for others. There is a pretty simple way to do it. Use a corner bed that is revealed to player at the start. They set the spawn, then go into chute (chute has string-observer to detect player fall). Each time they go through chute, the dropper expels an item. When its empty, comparator reads that and activates pistons to block the bed. With bed obstructed, the player is ejected to worldspawn. A fun way to do it is to feed the diamond block they paid into crafter, to break it into diamonds and use these to load the counter-dropper XD

I feel like the Etho Lore setup made peoples brain explode because it was a new piece of information, not because its actually a weird way to play, whereas pressing shift with your thumb is and always will be unhinged 😂

Etho, for your basalt farm (and other cobble farms), it might help to use some observers detecting a separate bit of falling lava, and use that as your "clock". Lava always flows at the same rate (every X ticks), and this would ensure you always get a pulse right when lava flows. Add an appropriate delay, and you can ensure the pistons in a cobble farm always fire X ticks after the lava flows and converts to stone/basalt/etc. I did this for a moss farm in a Vault Hunters playthrough, along with an extra clock to reset the falling lava if the system got messed up, and it was very robust. I just used an empty column with a lava source block at the top, observers at different heights to detect the falling lava, and a piston that fires every so often to reset the falling lava (to keep generating pulses).

Idea for a game: Hungry hungry froggos: pop up small magmacubes in the center, everyone has a frog behind a trapdoor on their side goal is to have your frog eat the most cubes

I gotta say Etho doesn't even cross the midway point on weirdness when it comes to setups. Like its just cozy. I can literally see how he would be sitting and playing and it isnt half as weird. Like moving around the wasd keys is way weirder. God bless that Kleenex box for the years of Ethos voice it has been providing. Side note: I really wanna see Etho challenge Bdubs to the scaffolding thing again and use bamboo. Would be just too funny to scam the bamboo distributor with his own merchendise!

I decided to give the resting the "arms on the desk and keyboard further along the desk" a go, and I have to admit it's actually quite comfortable. There's less stress on my shoulders and my Carpal Tunnel doesn't play up as much. So 5/5 stars!

When the picture of Etho's desk set up popped up I thought oh someone must've recreated Etho's set up so we can visualize it better but then I realized this IS Ethos's channel and the picture is very much real and I can see the old speakers and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I'd say don't let your phone near those speakers but then again Etho doesn't have a phone.

Tbh, 5 episodes of 50 mins each is basically 10 episodes, around the same as the other hermits. You're good Etho, we like it at 50 mins every-so-often So just do you

Literally only a minute in and I gotta say: I'm loving the long episodes. Longform content is like my favourite kind, and it helps me not feel overwhelmed with too many videos to watch. Of course do whatever you want, but if what you want is hour-long episodes that works great for me!

The etho lore was so crazy, I’m starting to believe in his “very Canadian story” from quite a few years ago now.
