The two funniest things about this is “Please god, this is enough, don’t grind more.” And Iskall coming back to the server for no other reason than to place dirt blocks for hours.

Doc getting annoyed at his own announcements is just perfect. They say revolutions eat their children, perhaps sci-fi dystopias also eat their despots?

Doc was trapped with four loud children, while 10 other children were bringing dirt and grass into his house

Sometimes the hardest thing about coming back from vacation is knowing the lawn will need to be mowed.

that "Keralis1: hey doc, do you have any spare dirt?" was kinda brutal 🤣

I quite like the underground aesthetic of the new perimiter!

I love how everyone agrees that there's an irony to the fact that they grinded to rebel against doc telling them to grind

Doc experiencing PTSD as he listens to his own motivational quotes with new context and meaning is just hilarious to me.

it's impressive and insane but also, something about this seems like it was inevitable in hindsight. it's the perfect hermit prank. excessive, grindy, time consuming, aesthetically pleasing, and very temporary

I have a quote to sum up Doc’s reaction to the prank here 18:38 : “huh, this is a new feeling, pride in someone else… unfortunately it’s overshadowed by ALL THIS UNYIELDING RAGE!!”

I have never been so absolutely terrified for the fate of everyone on the server

The episode beginning with a distinctly un-covered perimeter is one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen

at 10:51 *Doc sees a lush forest full of life and greenery* Doc: What kind of dystopian nightmare is this!

That note at the end about appreciating Grian and helping each other tell good stories on the server was really sweet and a great look at the ideas behind all the amazing stuff we get to see

From Doc making Grian blow up Mumbo’s door, to Grian making Doc blow up his own roof, this has been one explosive storyline

Season 6: Doc gets "upset" with Grian for destroying his bush. Season 9: Doc gets "upset" with Grian for giving him a bunch of bushes. You're sending mixed signals, Doc! :)

Doc after this episode: Crazy? I was crazy once. They covered the perimeter. Covered the perimeter with dirt. Dirt makes me crazy.

They really did motivate them too well. Every time one of them seemed to think they might not want to do it, one of your announcements would go off, and they'd go, "nope, nevermind, let's do it."

Doc is the equivalent of the guy who lives in a cave, and adventurers keep showing up thinking it's a quest, so he just builds more and more traps and adds vicious enemies just so he can have some peace and quiet 😂

The perfect response from Doc, to the morning announcement would have been "Oh, they did grind, but in the wrong direction" 8:40

Given how many Hermits it took to pull off this prank, I guess the "power of friendship" can actually defeat the villian! Those announcements were both terrifying and awesome.

It’s weirdly perfect that doc’s cartoon villainy was matched by the power of hard work and friendship. Thanks for playing the role doc, no one could do it better

Honestly, this is what keeps me coming back to Hermitcraft. The builds are awesome, the individual creators are incredible... but it's the fact that listening to one hermit wax eloquent about how much they appreciate another hermit isn't an _unusual_ thing. It's always so inspiring to see the collaborative element at work. The hermits are all fantastic artists and engineers in their own right, but the magic of Hermitcraft comes from the fact that they all respect each other and work in tandem to create phenomenal, awe-inspiring, fun, and engaging things. Mad respect to every hermit -- though, of course, always the highest respect to the GOAT. ;)

Doc you have no idea how happy I am for my art making an appearance in your Hermitcraft episode, I've been smiling nonstop for the past couple of days and now I'm holding back happy tears, thank for making my dream come true😭

I can't believe that cleaning up an entire layer of terraforming over the perimeter was still massively faster than the chickens lol

I love that it took 10 hermits 2 days to fill it in, and 1 flying machine from the hivemind hours to rip it back out 😂

Doc: Rise and Grind Grian: And I took that personally

Ever since Grian, Mumbo, and Scar posted their videos, I've been checking this channel every day to see Doc's reaction and I can say that it was worth the wait, I was laughing throughout this video

Love how Doc introduce the thumbnail at the beginning, as if you never knew what it's meant to depict, as if it is like one of those visual prophecy that the protagonist discover of what might happen/foreshadowing the future.

The entire server: Makes an enormous project that takes hours of hours of time Doc: Lever goes boom

Very amusing to hear the betrayal in Doc’s voice after finding out Etho helped- ofc terrible Betrayal by the NHO, but also the Buttercups basically offered Mr. Shade-E-E’s himself the chance to do a bigger version of the mushroom prank, he wasn’t exactly going to say no.

The funniest part is that if you watch Grian's perspective, you'll know that pretty much half of the entire server just silently teamed up and did this

Doc and Grian have been instrumental in carrying this season with story lines. It has been fun to watch. I didn't know how they could possibly top the dragon eggs but Grain figured it out.

The moment on his vacation when he found out his hard work had been covered must've been difficult. Just relaxing with the family plotting serious revenge on his friends.

I genuinely can't tell if Doc is annoyed, mad, sad, or laughing from how absurd this prank was

Remember: All this started because Impulse, Scar, & Gem forced Grian to finish the back of his base.

Doc is the father that is both exasperated and proud at the same time at their kids' dedication and creativity

If it wasn't for the fact that it impacted Doc's farms I would've said to keep the new land. Might have to try this myself in my world. A completely innocent looking surface with a huge base underneath.

Doc is so powerful that it took the entire Hermitcraft server to get revenge against him. I was waiting for the reaction. Funny.

He should be glad that Etho wasn’t in charge, it would be solid dirt all the way down

your tower was effective... too effective. It attracted the entire server and collectively and instinctively, they started grinding

If you are going to decorate the walls it shouldn’t be just a repeating pattern. I suggest a cityscape where the buildings are the height of the walls. I would have a decorative white boardwalk on the edge with vines and waterfalls falling onto the buildings. Large frescoes and balconies would look good too. 😊🎉

So nice seeing iskall coming back just for dirt after months of break.

Not going to lie, I liked the darker atmosphere of the perimeter all covered. It really gives off a feeling of something haunted, that you need to be afraid of when you enter.

that thumbnail really encompasses the feel of this episode, that huh, which just points to a feeling that "something is wrong! I can feel it!" yet, the landscape looks _completely_ normal hahaha, I loved this so much

This is why having rivalries in hermitcraft is great. So many people are watching doc now to see his reactions to these epic pranks

You know, the boys have undergone a lot of Grinding, Optimizing, and Thriving Together. If you can just teach them to Automate they might become worthy of Jr. Goat status.

I love the contrast between time-lapses. Docs removal is straight lines and very meticulous. The buttercups build is so sporadic and organic.

Doc and Ren chatting, the two total GOATs of the server! Ren's "Ren the King" storyline brought the whole server together and gave everyone so much content for months! Then Doc's war on the server brought everyone together again! This season has lacked in designing, building and other Minecraft "core content" to be sure, but these two have managed to make it one of the most entertaining seasons yet!

Watching Doc try to spin his failure as a success with the motivational quotes is hilarious!

Honestly, I get why Doc needs to remove the dirt. But when the world download comes out, I want a version with the lid still on.

You said you wanted to bring fun and interactive things into the HermitCraft server, and I got to say you absolutely achieved it. This hole tunnel bore buttercup battle, brought so much people together. Not just on the HermitCraft SMP, but also in the HermitCraft community. So much art, animatics, and songs were created because of this whole ordeal. And you played a big, huge part in all of this. And that’s pretty cool

Doc, this has possibly been the most anticipated video of Hermitcraft. The biggest unintentional mob farm in Minecraft history!

I'm sure you know the old pull lever and the sand/gravel floor collapses trap. Make a giant one above their bases about 10 sand/gravel deep. Confront them and the pull the lever and watch their reactions as their bases are partially covered 10 blocks deep. You've already got the gravity block duper to get the materials. And it'd only be right to do a call to arms to get others to join you in placing the blocks.

On a positive note. The speaches are so powerfull they even reached in vaults and brought Iskall back

57:55 this is why Season 10 should be Hermits teaming up to make bases. Draw names to make it random or pair with friends. Curious what you can build when joining forces (not the SMP-cross over industrial tower, but permanent bases)

Doc to Grian is Mr Filch to Peeves. Order and strictness, vs chaos and silliness. They enhance and highlight each other while also keeping each other in check.

Doc not knowing if he should be disappointed, angry or just proud 😂 What maybe even makes this even better is that they did this massive grind and built fully knowing it would basically be immediately destroyed as soon as Doc came back. It really was just a grind for the sake of a prank! Such pranks are the best :p

If he had continued on with never admitting he had been pranked, that would be the biggest prank on the audience and the buttercups lol 😂

Haven't watched the full video yet, but I have to say, that intro was gold. I honestly wouldn't have put it past Doc to build another world eater and clean up the perimeter prank fast enough that he could record the episode without ever mentioning it, and then pretend that it didn't happen. Ironically, the thing that gave Doc away was him saying he had the best vacation. I've you've seen him on twitter, that was very much not the case.

Those announcements added fuel to the fire constantly. Hence why everyone was so motivated to do the grind. LOL!!!! It worked so well it backfired spectacularly.

Doc, you need one of those secret entrances, that is like a telephone booth or little shed on the surface, where you hit a button and you zoom into the perimeter

As someone who mainly watches Grian's POV, I always get so nervous watching doc 😂

you could always set up like plots on the walls and assign each hermit a section to decorate in their style! that would be a really cool collaboration, and then do your own design between each plot to fill in the gaps

Ironically, Doc keeping Grian "in check", often leads to the most shenanigans

You know, despite how the Buttercups and friends had acted, its nice to know that you had saw the bright side. After all, you now have where to build the walls of the perimenter. Also, if you want to freak everyone out then just host a harmless party celebrating how thankful you are to everyone. Like you just host a party and nothing bad happens. Leading to everyone being on edge for the entire time wondering whose base is going to be destroyed. And when everything is over, the Buttercups and their allies will be so on edge that they'll think your planning something big. Oh and try making them all doubt each other during the party in very subtle ways. As that can cause everyone who did the biggest grind ever to start messing with each other.

Omg, I'm still chuckling. Honestly Doc, if you would have just pretended it didnt happen I would have followed along, but I'm glad we got to see the satisfying sweep of tnt put things right again.

you know doc, it was such an amazing and satisfying time watching the perimeter being bored out innately. It was nice to get to watch some more even if it was clean-up from a prank :'D

Seeing each hermit do a pixel art mural would be super cool and I’m sure they’re enjoy learning a new aspect of the game! Just convince them to graffiti the perimeter 😂
